Saul V : I would like to purchase this ink package but can I replace the Photo Black with another Matte Black cartridge?ADAM L : You can BUT the matte black prints very differently!
The printer will not even let me select glossy stock in the print setup dialog when a matte ink cartridge is in the printer. On glossy blacks come out VERY BLACK and I find a general color shift that is difficult to predict/control.
Good Luck!MARK P : That would be up to Adorama. I have never had a reason to swap them out since I use both Black cartridges. They are not in a sealed package so it would be easy to swap and are the same price point. I would call customer service and ask, they have always been more than helpful when I have asked.NINA H : No, you use the Photo Black on Glossy or Semi-Glossy photo paper and change it for the Matte Black when printing on matte photo paper. Somewhat inconvenient, but that is how this printer model was designed.
I think in newer models Epson has improved this ink feature, but I am not sure how.
NinaDEREK G : My cartridge set arrived as 9 separate cartridge packs so in theory the photo black could be switched for a matte black. It would all depend on whether Adorama would be prepared to make the switch.HUGH G : Yes, you can swap between matt and photo black as often as you like (although you lose a little ink each time) make sure you keep the cartridge you are not using in an air tight container.BILL H : Saul, My first reaction to your question is that I would address Epson this question first. With that said, I do believe it would be unwise to change ink types if associated with a different manufacture other than Epson. If your intent is to add another matte black to the Epson set up within the R2880, I would believe there would be no problem.

Ink cartridge delivery of discontinued cartridges
Product was shipped in a cardboard box with air bags to protect the ink cartridges. Arrived in great condition, I also ordered a second set of cartridges since the printer is a discontinued model and cartridges are getting harder to obtain.

Great value over individual cartridges!
This is an awesome value over purchasing individual ink cartridges. I had an Epson R2880 that had not been printed with in over two years with the cartridges left in the carriage. Needless to say the printer was thoroughly clogged. After a whole bottle of Magic Bullet cleaner and replacing the ink with this kit the printer is making flawlessly awesome prints.
