School tech here...This is used in a middle school, mounted to a ceiling. The least tech savvy teacher has no issues using this. Even with crappy wifi, this thing connects. We have used several other projectors in this district and this one is by far the best. It's been in this classroom for 1+ years. I wish the district had the budget to buy one for all the classrooms. Hey Epson, would you consider donating any? (even refurb or used) Title I low income school district here. Would make a world of difference for the teachers lessons.

We have purchased seven of these for different offices since 2013. We purchased two in early 2020. Never had a problem. Can't possibly be happier with that reliability. I have high hopes for this new purchase for 2021.

Almost everything that I was looking for in a projector at this price range...except for one thing that is somewhat annoying. There is no audio out to hook up my JBL portable surround speakers. The current sound coming from the projector itself is in mono which is unacceptable. I got this as a portable projector for backyard movies and to be able to bring it anywhere. So now, apparently, I’m going to need an audio extractor, which just makes it somewhat of a hassle. Otherwise, picture quality is great on my portable screen even in daylight. and the rest of the basic set-up Is easy.

This is an expensive product to not have work properly. We have issues with the connection cables, which makes the picture go out constantly. The picture is great when it works, but I suggest mounting it straight on, rather than using the angle feature. We set it on a book shelf on the right side of the room and messed with the settings to get it to center on the wall in the middle and it was difficult/ still lop sided.

The projector is light and flexible. However, the Wireless is a problem. I spent valuable time with an untrained rep and never connected to my iPhone. VGA, HDMI worked as expected.

Used this to replace an earlier version of an Epson. This updated model is just outstanding. It has a great feature that will auto adjust the screen to the size of your projector screen with minimal tweaking. Awesome!

I bought this projector a few months ago and just recently started using it. I'm glad I did research of many projectors as I needed one to project approximately 33 feet away. I was amazed at the clarity from both Blu-ray and satellite on my screen which is 16 feet high and 24 feet wide. The on-screen setup was extremely easy and had it going in a matter of minutes.

The size is perfect to for taking from place to place (just a little thicker than your average laptop). The projector was easy to setup and I was up and running in minutes. Image quality is superb and the wireless function is one of the best features if this projector, sharing my phone/tablet screen was simple and there was almost no delay between my tablet and what was being displayed. An external speaker is a good idea but not necessary. I will definitely recommend this projector to my colleagues for anyone looking for new or an upgraded experience.

I am constantly doing presentations of all sorts, for my boss, for my employees, for potential clients, and I feel this device enables me to expediently do presentations like i’ve never done before. Why? First, the projector is super lightweight and really portable, its like a laptop more or less in terms of size and weight. I was able to fit it into my briefcase and it was a pleasure carrying it around, I actually couldnt believe i had a projector in my bag! It also really has excellent resolution and image quality. Just to try and see how good its resolution was, I tried projecting some extremely low resolution images (by design), and I could see with crystal clear quality the level of poor quality of these “test low resolution images.” So, I was impressed, to say the least. Another big selling pt is that this project is wireless, which allows me to connect to the projector from my smartphone, laptop, tablet, it doesnt matter, as long as the device can connect to Wifi, im good. I loved this b/c I hate messy cables and having to lug them around with me everywhere. This device eliminates the need for these messy cables. Finally, I thought this machine was just cool-looking. Like, I love devices, and having this machine makes me feel super nerdy and techy in the best possible way due to the fact that I love high tech, sleek, ultra cool tech devices. Why? They make my life more productive and fun! To be fair, I will say that the sound quality isnt up to par with the excellence of the machine overall, so, if you are going to be doing a media rich presentation where you will be using lots of video elements with sound, bring some extra speakers, thats what I did, didnt mind, had some portable Sony speakers already. But do be warned that the sound on this device isnt that good. Also, I didnt like that the machine got a little too hot, and, being the Nervous Nellie that I tend to be, didnt like this fact. I didnt like that the machine got a little too hot for my tastes/comfort. Nevertheless, I will say that this device definitely exceeded my expectations, and its small drawbacks are greatly outweighed by its top notch craftsmanship, excellent image quality, superb size/weight, and overall coolness factor.

I'm just recently received this Epson projector and stray away from the unboxing you can tell very clearly what differentiates this projector from the rest. It is very carefully and properly packed to ensure Safety and Security until it reaches the consumer. Setting up his projector was a true breeze. Firstly it comes with just about every single connector cable that you could possibly need in order to project whatever you need from whatever device you need. Plugging it in and getting it setup projecting my computer screen took about 45 seconds. The projector automatically scans all the input ports and automatically detects the correct source. Then it automatically adjust to whatever projection screen or wall that you have set up. It Auto adjust the angle and Keystone by detecting the surface and making it basically plug-and-play. The quality is crystal clear, and I really like the fact that I can adjust the focus if it needs fine-tuning from both the remote and the projector itself. Once we're on the top of the remote, just about every feature can be done from both the remote and from the projector itself. The projector comes a built-in adjustable stand to help project it at the perfect angle. It also has a easy shrink / enlarge feature to make it to the correct screen size. Another amazing feature that this projector has is it extreme easiness to connect to. You could connect it from either your computer or your network or even directly from your phone with their very easy to set up app. You can even connect it directly to your wireless network and projected wirelessly that way as well. To go back to the app Feature for a second, it allows you to project a mirror image of your screen enabling you to have the flexibility of projecting from whatever device you need. All in all this is a extremely solid and reliable projector that can provide for all your needs in every setting with its extreme lightweight, small size, and quietness. It even comes with a very convenient travel bag that holds all the necessary wires and remotes and makes it very easy to take it on the go.

This is my first Epson projector though I own a few LED projectors that are not nearly as good. The Epson Powerlite 1781W is more than half the size and weight than my other projectors. It is similar to the thickness of an older laptop. One thing that totally "Wow's me" is the auto fitting to the screen. My older projectors need to be lined up perfectly and the only corrections possible were manual focus and keystone correction, with the Epson projector a simple one touch automatically fits it to the screen. The brightness and color accuracy is amazing. Even in a lit room you can read or watch what is on the projector. My old projectors only worked in a dark room. The fan is somewhat noisy as is common with all similar projectors. The sound is not that loud so I use it with an external speaker for clear crisp sound. It comes in a carrying case making it easy for travel and demonstrations. The app makes it easy to control content from your smartphone straight to the projector. If you are looking for a high quality projector that produces clear images, has quick setup and is portable this a clear winner. My only recommendation is to bring an external speaker for better sound.

With that said, I still have free reign to say what I want about the device, without repercussion, so let me start by saying this: It’s absolutely amazing. Epson has some truly junky products, but this is definitely not one of them. The size and feature set of the PowerLite makes it perfect for a professional to use for high-quality presentations during the day and LAN parties at night. While it doesn’t include a built-in battery, the PowerLite does come with an especially long power cable, which makes it easier to find a convenient place to plug in. The screen color and resolution is amazing. You get some really great detail and sharp images with the bulb system the PowerLite uses, and the ability to adjust throw and focus is a piece of cake. Not to mention that it automatically adjusts your keystone settings and screen fit. I really hate having to deal with that sort of thing when I’m setting up a projector for a presentation, so having it done for me automatically is a great bonus. Now, this isn’t some super-mini, hand-sized projector that is super portable and gives a decent image for its size. No, this is a laptop sized (a thick laptop), full-powered projector that gives a GREAT image despite how small and portable it is. Yes, it’s going to get warm. Yes, the fan is going to be loud. Yes, the speakers are going to be sub-par. It’s a projector; that’s what they do. What you get with this particular one, though, is: 1. Portability, including its own case. 2. A great image, even in bright rooms. 3. Smart features for quick setup and go, including auto-keystone and super-quick wireless connection to a mobile device. 4. The ability to use smart-devices like Chromecast and Roku for entertainment. Seriously, if you need a portable projector and you’re willing to spend enough to get a good one, this is what you need. The PowerLite is a great product that is made to be convenient for the user in every way possible. It’s specifically designed to be set up and displaying your presentation in under a minute. It’s smart, sexy and sophisticated as far as projectors go and I definitely recommend it.

This projector is easy to setup and even easier to connect to. The projector has mounting whole that can hold the it in on ceiling or stand alone. The stand can be adjusted with ease and get the right high. The smart image adjustment is out of this world. You can setup on the right or left side of your conference room and it will adjust the image for you and it will look like the projection is coming from straight forward. Just amazing. The Wifi compatibility and range is great. It allows for users to connect via wifi and a QR code for even easier connection through phone (iPhone / android). The projector can be connected to the PC via HDMI or Wifi making it very versatile. The Epson Projector App can help also gain access to the internal functions of the projector (but not a must have) All in all the picture quality is superb even with light on the camera and sensors seem to be able to adjust the image nicely. I can only say that this is the best projector our office had. Note that the projector comes with a case therefore the storage and mobility is great. For larger firms like ours we use administrative storage system, meaning we sign in and out projectors all the time. Our staff prefers this projector to all others! This projector is sleek, compact, and easily portable. I love the picture quality, I have used it with video games,tv,fire stick,dvd and my laptop. It streams seamlessly with easy setup.I love the fact that if it is set up somewhere that it may get bumped, moved on accident or if you need to relocate the picture the projector adjust the screen for you wit little to no interactions.the wifi feature is a little complicated to setup but it works good once you get it figured out. The only real downfall for me is that the projector has poor sound quality the volume doesn't go very loud and you cannot connect a bluetooth or other external speaker to get a great video experience.

It came with multiple cord configurations perfect for traveling on the go. It came with a portable carrying case which was very padded and provides superior protection. The remote itself is good size and has lot of useful functions. Once the projector was unboxed and setup it did have a bit of a challenge installing all the software. You need 2 programs or sets of install to have this function for my use. If you only install the wireless one your computer can not connect to the internet. It did take me some time to troubleshoot and fix this. The quick setup instructions should have been a bit clearer on this. Overall the design and button layout of the projector was great. The size and compactness of the projector is amazing. One of the things I did notice once the projector was turned off is that it almost immediately cooled down, so I didn’t really have to wait to put it away. All in all, I would say this is an outstanding product that I would recommend. A+++

This is a review for the Epson Powerlite 1781W Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I have been using this projector daily for about a week. It is lightweight, compact, easy to setup and use. The best part is that it comes with its own carrying case. The initial setup was smooth and easy as I was able to connect the projector to my existing home WIFI network in just a few minutes. The projector was able to auto-adjust the image on the screen and the images looked clear and crisp (even on a brightly lit room). Even when the room was darkened, the images were very crisp and clear. The mobile setup was smooth and easy as scanning the QR code that is projected on the screen. After installing the “Espon iProjection” app I was able connect to the same WIFI network as the projector and started to project the content on the mobile screen/app in just a few minutes. The process was similar when connecting a laptop and I was able to project a few minutes. The included remote is light-weight, fits easy in the hand and works like a charm. The remote need not be pointed at the projector in order to make it work, which is quite useful. The remote has all the features that make the presentation smooth and easy. Pros: Light weight. Easy setup and configuration with an auto-adjust feature at startup. Images crisp and clear for presentation(s). Included remote is easy to use. Pages can be scrolled up/down from the remote. WIFI enabled. Content can be projected over the same wireless network using phone/laptop. Cons: Sound from the projector’s speakers is weak. Projector gets hot after a while. But, the built-in fans do a terrific job and help cool the system. There is a slight lag while displaying moving images (from hi-quality movies). It takes a while getting used to the zoom/pointer features in the remote. Price is a bit too steep but this is an excellent projector with all the “useful” features and is quite worth it. Epson has delivered an excellent with well-built quality product in a compact form factor. I will definitely recommend buying this projector.
