This is a great printer as long as you use it frequent enough. Otherwise the nozzles are clogged up. You would need to run through the power cleaning cycle several times to unclog them which will drain quite a bit ink.

I have had this printer for 3 years, but I have developed a maintenance protocol to keep it going. You will not regret buying the extended warranty. If you do not print frequently, I would go another direction. I keep my humidity at 60% to 70 % (closed up in my old darkroom), and I flush the heads frequently. If the heads get plugged and you can't flush them, the printer is done. A new head set is over $1,000. If you want to take it in for service, remember it weighs 150 lbs. Plugged heads after a year have caused many heart breaks as you can read in the reviews. In a production environment where it is used frequently, it might be fine. But as a hobbyist, where you print infrequently, I would definitely stay away from this printer. Particularly in dry environments. All that being said, it produces beautiful prints, which is why I give it 4 stars. If you can keep it working it can be a beautiful relationship. But I anxiously wait for the day Vivid Magenta plugs up and we have to get a divorce, and I dump it with $600 worth of ink in it's belly. Watch YOUR HUMIDITY and you will be much better off.

This printer takes just about any media. Great Quality prints. It is very large. Had no idea how big it actually was, so make sure you have lots of room:)

I have serious buyer's remorse. Using this printer is a kludge. I don't mind the big footprint or the hard-to-learn controls and settings, that comes with the territory, but I do mind the incredbile frequency of clogged nozzles, the frequent need for "power cleaning" and head alignment and glitchy paper handling. It can produce beautiful images but it's like having a car that burns oil and needs constant maintenance. Every print is a big chore. Today, something went wrong with the hardware and it has to go in for expensive repair, a couple months after warranty expired. Big investment, big disappointment.

The 1st print from this machine was close to perfect. No more wasted paper and ink. Thats a good thing because this beast uses 11 ink carts at around $100 each. You'll get excellent prints from this printer but if you run an uncalibrated system dont blame the printer.

The good: Wonderful detail, accurate color prints, fast printing. The Bad: software is buggy, the paper feeder jams often and needed repair by Epson, ink is expensive

Excellent machine. No black ink switching. Low cost per ml ink. Great rebate. But that doesn't matter. Here's what does: INCREDIBLE prints. Period. The HDR inkset is out of this world. So happy :)
