Questions & Answers

JUAN I C : Is this printer need a softrip or can you print from a program in your computer?ANDREW R : I'm afraid I don't understand your question. Operating Systems Supported Mac: Tiger 10.4.9 or higher Leopard 10.5 or higher (16-bit) Snow Leopard 10.6 or higher (16-bit) Windows: XP, Vista and 7 (32 & 64-bit)
LINDSAY K : Does the Epson Stylus Pro 7890 Printer Designer Edition have wheels on it?MARK H : Yes it does although it is best established in an area with hard surface flooring. The wheels are not very large. FYI....I had this printer for two years before I replaced it with the Canon Imageprograf 6400. The Canon is cheaper, prints with 12 inks, and is easier to use. MOST IMPORTANT!!! -- you MUST print something/anything every other day or the jets on the print head WILL CLOG!!. (That goes for any high end printer!) An Epson SP7890 print head costs about $1850. (Canon print heads are about $400 but they use two.) Last but not least GET THE SQUARETRADE WARRANTY. Epson service is iffy at best. Square Trade ROCKS at a fraction of the cost. THEY refunded my original purchase price on the EPSON after two years of use. I won't tell you what Epson told me. . . I added the Adorama link to the Canon below. Have a great day!
Richard H : Can it print on canvas? If so what type (matte or glossy)???DONALD J. L : We print most of our pictures on canvas matte. We love the printer. The thing that amazed us most was ink usage was very low. Errors are few and built-in diagnostics and menu navigation is very good. Highly recommended.

About Epson 7890

The Epson Stylus Pro 7890 Printer Designer Edition incorporates the latest achievements in photographic ink jet technology. By combining the precision of their MicroPiezo TFP print head with the proven performance of their eight-color Epson UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta, their newest generation of Epson Stylus Pro printers continue to represent a level of technology unprecedented in Epson's history.

Epson UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta utilizes eight colors - including auto-switching Photo and Matte Black inks - while setting the benchmark standard for the industry. Even more remarkable, by combining them with their new AccuPhoto HD screening technology, Epson has once again raised the level of print quality.

The Epson MicroPiezo TFP print head is capable of producing higher quality prints, at speeds almost twice as fast as their previous generation. And, with their latest ink-repelling coating and auto nozzle verification technologies, clogged nozzles are virtually eliminated. Like their higher-end Epson Stylus Pro 900 series printers, Epson has developed, in partnership with X-Rite, a high performance, in-line spectrophotometer for commercial proofing applications. When driven by the latest front-end RIPs, the SpectroProofer can automate virtually any color management process in your workflow.

With printers capable of handling virtually any media type, in roll or cut sheets, up to 24 or 44 inches wide, Epson continues to set the standard for professional media use. Whether producing sellable color or black-and-white photography, point-of-sale signage, or even color accurate commercial proofs for client approvals, creative professionals now have a powerful tool allowing them to produce their vision without compromise.
