I have tried "Generic" ink in the past to save some money. You only get what you pay for, and it will plug-up your printing heads. It takes too much time to clear out the heads and to get back to normal.

Epson colored ink for the 785exp printer, allows for a very nice printed photo.

I have owned an Epson 785exp printer since it first came out. The Epson color ink for this printer excellent, especially for my digital photos. I also own a Epson R800, but the 785exp is my work horse for my daily needs. I have had excellent results with non-fading of this ink and retention of my prints original colors.
