Review Summary

I have to disagree with all of these reviews. The ink itself and the Epson 7900/9900 printer series are both awesome - truly. BUT - and I don't know if it's Epson's fault or Adorama's - I frequently receive ink cartridges that outdate in just over a year. I just received (2/17) a new set of 350 ml cartridges that outdate between May and November, 2018. That's pretty short for a ($) ink set. And from lots of experience I can say that performance does hit a cliff a couple of months after outdate, and you start having to do endless cleaning cycles, sometimes mid print, and banding does become an issue. I think that this is just an inventory issue ... But it's an issue.

For professional photographers and graphic designers seeking unparalleled print quality, the UltraChrome HDR 350 ml Full Ink Set is specifically designed for the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24 inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44 inch) printers. These printers are Epson's pioneering ten-color models, equipped with the groundbreaking UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) pigment ink technology.
This comprehensive ink set introduces orange and green hues, significantly broadening the color spectrum and enhancing digital printing opportunities, particularly in the package and remote proofing market segments. The UltraChrome HDR ink is a high-density, resin-coated pigment ink formulation, featuring a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black.
In addition to the black variants, the set includes cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. A matte black option is also available, which can be auto-switched with photo black. This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink ensures reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and exceptional short-term color stability.
Furthermore, it offers outstanding long-term lightfastness, highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, and high gloss levels on water-resistant prints. The introduction of two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml) contributes to a lower cost per milliliter of ink and reduces the frequency of cartridge replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.
The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 feature Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head, equipped with 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. Epson's Ink Repelling Coating for the print head and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system work together to minimize downtime by detecting and preventing nozzle clogging, and eliminating paper waste used during the cleaning process.
Epson's AID technology uses a sensor near the print head to count the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. A lower than expected electrical charge triggers the automatic start of the print head cleaning process. Compared to current 8-color 24 inch and 44 inch printers, the Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 deliver dramatically increased print speed, completing an A1 (720x720dpi) sellable quality print on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in an impressive 5 minutes.
