Epson UltraChrome HDR 700 ml. Light Cyan High Density Resin Pigment Based Ink for the Stylus Pro 7890, 7900, 9890 & 9900 Inkjet Printers

The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24-inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44-inch) stand as Epson's pioneering ten-color printers, armed with the groundbreaking Epson UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink technology. This innovative ink set includes orange and green, significantly broadening the color spectrum and enhancing digital printing opportunities, particularly in the package and remote proofing market segments.

The UltraChrome HDR ink is a high-density resin-coated pigment ink formulation, featuring a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black. It also includes cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. An on-board matte black is also present, which can be auto-switched with photo black.

This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink offers a multitude of benefits, including reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and exceptional short-term color stability. It also boasts remarkable long-term lightfastness, highly precise color control with neutral black and white, and high gloss levels on water-resistant prints.

Cost-efficiency is another advantage, with the introduction of two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml) contributing to a lower cost per milliliter of ink. These high-capacity ink cartridges also minimize the need for frequent replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.

The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 are equipped with Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head, featuring 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. Epson's Ink Repelling Coating for the print head and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system work together to prevent downtime by minimizing and detecting nozzle clogging in advance, and eliminating paper waste used during the cleaning process.

Epson's AID technology employs a sensor near the print head that monitors the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. A lower than expected electrical charge indicates insufficient ink was fired, triggering the print head cleaning process automatically. Compared to current 8-color 24-inch and 44-inch printers, print speed is significantly increased, with the Stylus Pro 7900 delivering an A1 (720x720dpi) sellable quality print on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in a remarkable 5 minutes.
