UltraChrome HDR is a revolutionary ink technology developed by Epson. It is a high-density resin-coated pigment ink formulation that includes three levels of black - photo black, light black, and light light black, along with other colors. This technology significantly broadens the color spectrum, enhancing digital printing opportunities.
The UltraChrome HDR 700 ml ink is specifically designed for use with the Epson Stylus Pro 7890, Stylus Pro 7900, Stylus Pro 9890, and Stylus Pro 9900 Inkjet Printers.
The high-capacity 350ml and 700ml ink cartridges contribute to a lower cost per milliliter of ink and decrease the frequency of cartridge replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.
The MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head is a feature of the Epson Stylus Pro printers. It has 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. This technology works with the Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system to minimize downtime by preemptively detecting and reducing nozzle clogging.
Epson's AID technology employs a sensor near the print head that monitors the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. If the electrical charge is lower than expected, it indicates that insufficient ink was fired, triggering the print head cleaning process automatically.

The answer great. The problem is that the Epson 7900 printer clogs up frequently. Epson needs to do something about that and hopefully has with their new printer version.

Explore the innovative capabilities of the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24 inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44 inch), Epson's pioneering ten-color printers, armed with the groundbreaking UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink technology. This advanced ink set, featuring orange and green, significantly broadens the color spectrum, enhancing digital printing opportunities in the packaging and remote proofing market segments.
Experience the superior quality of Epson's UltraChrome HDR ink, a high-density resin-coated pigment ink formulation. It boasts a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black, along with cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. The inclusion of matte black, which can be auto-switched with photo black, further enhances its versatility.
This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink offers reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and exceptional short-term color stability. Enjoy outstanding long-term lightfastness, highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, and high gloss levels on water-resistant prints.
Benefit from cost efficiency with the introduction of two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml), contributing to a lower cost per milliliter of ink. These new high-capacity ink cartridges also decrease the frequency of cartridge replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.
The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 feature Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head, equipped with 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. Epson's Ink Repelling Coating for the print head and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system work together to minimize downtime by preemptively detecting and reducing nozzle clogging, and eliminating paper waste used during the cleaning process.
Epson's AID technology employs a sensor near the print head that monitors the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. A lower than expected electrical charge indicates insufficient ink was fired, triggering the print head cleaning process automatically.
Compared to current 8 color 24 inch and 44 inch printers, the print speed is significantly increased, with the Stylus Pro 7900 delivering an A1 (720x720dpi) sellable quality print on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in a remarkable 5 minutes.
