Great inkset. Easy process going from computer to printer to paper when using all epson products.
What sets the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 apart is their pioneering ten-color printing capability, featuring the advanced Epson UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink technology. This comprehensive ink set includes a spectrum of colors - Photo Black, Cyan, Vivid Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, Vivid Light Magenta, Light Black, Light Light Black, Orange, and Green - enabling an exceptionally wide color gamut that significantly enhances digital printing capabilities, particularly in the realms of packaging and remote proofing.
The UltraChrome HDR ink is a sophisticated, high-density resin-coated pigment formulation that integrates a three-level black technology to deliver an unparalleled depth and richness in prints. The inclusion of Matte Black, which can be automatically switched with Photo Black, further refines the printing process for different media types.
Epson's commitment to quality is evident in the UltraChrome HDR ink's ability to produce prints with reduced graininess, especially in skin tones, and to ensure smooth transitions from shadows to highlights. This ink set is engineered for superior color stability in the short term and exceptional lightfastness over the long term, ensuring that prints maintain their integrity over time. Additionally, the inks provide highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, and achieve high gloss levels on water-resistant prints.
Cost efficiency is also a key feature of the UltraChrome HDR ink set, with the introduction of high-capacity 350ml and 700ml ink cartridges. These larger cartridges not only lower the cost per milliliter but also minimize the frequency of replacements, facilitating uninterrupted printing sessions and enhancing productivity.
The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 printers are equipped with Epson's cutting-edge MicroPiezo TFP print head, which boasts 360 nozzles per inch for each color, ensuring precise and consistent ink droplet placement. The printers also feature Epson's Ink Repelling Coating and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system, which work in tandem to prevent and detect nozzle clogs before they can disrupt printing, thus reducing downtime and conserving paper.
Epson's AID technology employs a sensor adjacent to the print head to monitor the electrical charges of the ink droplets. If the charge is lower than expected, indicating insufficient ink ejection, the system automatically initiates the print head cleaning process.
When compared to existing eight-color printers in the 24-inch and 44-inch categories, the Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 offer a remarkable increase in print speed. For instance, the Stylus Pro 7900 can produce an A1-sized print (720x720dpi) of sellable quality on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in a mere 5 minutes, setting a new standard for efficiency and performance in professional printing.
