Extremely disappointed in the sound quality from the built-in speaker even though they claim it is great for watching movies (NOT!). And even worse, there is no way around it. I called immediately and was told that with these models there is no way to use a better external speaker. I stream from my iPad, and as soon as the projector is connected with HDMI cable, the audio comes from the horrible speaker and cannot be routed anywhere else. This is a very bad design, and a black eye for Epson whose products I usually love.

I'm so glad we went with a projector over a tv for family movie nights. Picture is great on our wall (without a screen). Easy to set up and use. We have it set up in a dark basement. Sound isn't amazing but pretty darn good and gets plenty loud.

We own a cinema series projector and use this one for kids ps5 gaming. It's good, but still trying to figure out settings as it's not as crisp on certain games. We bought it knowing it's entry level. We like Epson products and will keep it.

I did NOT receive this projector, free of charge to do a beta test and review... so this review is completely unbiased. [ although.... Epson... I would certainly be honoured to do a beta review for a future new-release projector]. Having been forced to toss out a few lower-priced, but vastly inferior single-chip LCD projectors (with burn marks on the polarizer), I am so very impressed with this capable Epson-quality, ultra bright, long-lasting and flexible projector, I managed to grab a 28% off deal. I have stretched and stapled a screen over a 108"x60" frame built with 2"x2" wood, resulting in a wrinkle-free 124" (10 foot) screen measured on the diagonal. With the ceiling installation of this Epson projector I have the equivalent of a 10-foot HD TV for roughly $550 all-in. Sure, it is at the low end of Epsons' offerings, but it creates a supersized, immersive big screen experience for streaming movies at home as well as for delivering sharp presentations in smaller office settings. The CO-W01 delivers an amazingly bright, sharp, crisp and clear image perception in vibrant, vivid colours, even with ambient light. It can achieve all this with up-to an impressive 300 inch display. The stated colour brightness of 3000 IDMS 15.4 lumens (equals roughly 3750 ANSI lumens ! ) has been notably verified by independent test results reported in reviews posted on-line. [According to the ISO 21118 standard, a single ANSI Lumen should equal 0.8 ISO Lumens]. An ideal lumen range for multi-purpose spaces is 2000 to 4000 ANSI lumens. For rooms with low ambient light you can select the 'ECO' Light Output setting (using a dedicated button on the remote) which slightly reduces brightness, providing a better contrast ratio for darker black-level performance, extends bulb-life, and also reduces power consumption and fan noise (from 38 dB to 29 dB, very noticeably quieter). A personalized selection from various Picture Modes can enhance the experience. In bright rooms, and for larger screen sizes, the 'High' Light Output setting bumps brightness up to the maximum when you need need a higher brightness to deliver quality images that are significantly less washed-out by excessive ambient light. To protect the bulb, the projector slowly warms up for 30 seconds or so before reaching maximum brightness. Lamp-hours-used under each Light Output mode can be displayed in the Info Menu. The advanced 3-chip 3LCD technology (one chip for each primary color: red, green and blue) displays 100% of the RGB colour signal for every frame. This provides outstanding and realistic colour accuracy, up to 16.77 billion colours, and better performance by providing colour with up to three-times the illuminance over a single-chip LCD projector at equal lumens level. The projected image is crisp and bright, even at the corners. Of course, a menu 'Projection' option can flip the picture for ceiling mounting. A manual keystone correction can properly adjust otherwise skewed or crooked image proportions, when projected at an angle, (as much as 30 degrees for this projector). I was pleasantly surprised that the ceiling-mounted projector reacts to commands from the remote even from directly beneath it. There is a manual focus lever and menu-selected digital zoom (optical zoom not available). Menu options permit adjustments to aspect ratio and colour mode. Picture Shift is a handy feature to help centre the image on a screen. While the resolution of the projector may seem odd, and to lean into the Epson forte for office presentations from computers, rest assured it is indeed high-definition (HDTV) quality and Epsons' SizeWise chip ensures support for other display resolutions (up to and including Full HD 1080p (1020 x 1080) video via HDMI). The aspect ratio is 16:10, with a native WXGA resolution of 1200 x 800 Pixels or 1,024,000 dots (roughly the 720p (1280 x 720) being broadcast by many TV stations). It is not 4K compatible. The CO-W01 had a long lamp life of up to 6,000 hours ( 12,000 hours in ECO mode, equivalent to nearly 7 years of viewing at 5 hours per day). It is a great value for the money, especially when compared to the relatively short life of lower quality single-chip LCD projectors often reported (in 1-star reviews) as susceptible to projecting anomalous images, resulting from burn marks on the polarizer (progressing from yellow/orange, through brown, to black) after a just few months of use. Directly connect an HDMI cable from, a laptop, cable/satellite box, DVD player, gaming console, or your preferred streaming device. I have an 'HDMI switch' that easily enables alternating between Fire Stick or satellite receiver. Unfortunately, the 5 watt built-in speaker is not very impressive. Strangely, there is no 3.5mm jack for sound output, but this deficiency can easily be overcome by inserting an inexpensive 'HDMI Audio Extractor' in the HDMI cable linkage to provide the '3.5mm jack' needed to run a separate cable from the Audio Out port of the Extractor to a sound system input. The USB Type-A port permits connection of USB thumb drives, or the USB power cable from a Fire Stick (providing sufficient 5v, 2A). Sadly, the projectors' USB file support is very-limited to; .jpg , .bmp , .gif , .png , and .avi (720p and < 2 gb).

The projector is compact which makes it easy to carry and connect. Picture quality is bright and good. The brightness is great even for day watching. We use fire stick to stream everything and Bluetooth speaker that connects to the fire stick which makes everything sound amazing. The only flaw is I wish the speakers could connect to the projector itself. It is great for presentations and good to watch movies if you buy an audio device separately in order to get proper sound externally (or connect to bluetooth speakers with the help of Firestick or Chromecast).

I've been using this Projector for a while now and it is amazing. It is super easy to setup and use. With its compact design and easy access to ports you won't have any issues with cables. The built in hight adjuster making it level takes no time. I really like the easy to use focus adjuster so you will get a crisp clear image quickly. It also comes with an easy to use remote control and is a great addition so i can turn it on and adjust things without needing to be next to the unit. I have used this on multiple devices and have a no issues with any from a pc to a xbox one. The image quality is awesome and is very crisp and colorful. This is an awesome projector we have had a movie night at my father-in-laws house and he loved how good the picture was. The built in speaker is awesome for the size and sound great. This projector has far exceeded my expectations and I'm going to use it daily. If you are in the market for quality projector this one is for you.

Due to my work, I can't show what I actually use it for (consultant and projects are private). However I did set it up with my PS4. The view is crystal clear. While it's not a tv with high power pixels, it's quite impressive for a projector. I love how I can put it on different modes (see pics). Each mode offers a different view different from the others. The nice thing also is that you can dim it. If I don't want it blaring at me in the dark, I can set it on low mode. If I'm watching a movie, I can set it on higher mode for more brightness. When working I usually sit in the back of the conference room and I can still see the picture clearly (around 50ft from it). I don't have to squint my eyes and the remote works also from further away. I brought it home so that my kiddo could try it out with his video games and he actually liked it better than his tv. He said it's basically like his tv (controlling volume) but he likes that it has the different modes and the bigger screen. I've had no complaints from fellow coworkers about it. They all agree that it's a lot clearer and audio is really good. It doesn't matter what color wall or texture of wall you have, you won't be able to see it like some other products you can. I added pictures with flash and one where it was completely dark. The picture is still really bright even when it's dark (makes you feel like you are at movies) Overall I'm impressed and it's not a bad price point for a quality projector. You get what you pay for and this one is actually well worth the price.

This was a very easy to set up projector for our outside by the pool movie night. We used the projector on our portable blowup screen by the pool and had a wonderful family movie night. The picture was very clear and crisp, and the sound was not bad coming through the projector. It was very easy to set up directly to our computer to run the movie through with the HDMI cable. Wonderful product and highly recommend..

We used it at our dance studio to project a recent performance on the wall for our students to watch. This is a very user friendly device. Very easy to set up. We used the USD port to the USB Flash drive to project the ballet we had on the flash drive. We would highly recommend this projector for meetings or to be able to show videos during a presentation. This is a review for the Epson EpiqVision® Flex CO-W01 Portable Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The set up of the projector was nice and easy. I set it up for a movie night with friends and had a great time. The imagery was colorful and the sound was sharp. My only critiques are in regards to the size and the temperature. It's a little bit larger than I was expecting, making it less portable. It also heats up quickly and stays warm even after you cease using it. However, these two issues aren't enough to keep me from using it. Overall, I am very happy with this projector and would recommend it.

This is a review for the Epson EpiqVision® Flex CO-W01 Portable Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Setting this projector up was very easy. The quality I get is amazing for the price point. I have seen products that cost in the thousands that have similar picture quality. We set it up in out backyard and put it against our house and had a great time watching a baseball game. My kids are excited for this fall when football season gets into full swing. Even if you are not a big tech person, this is simple to use and fun for multiple things. I look forward to using it for work next when I do my next power point presentation. Overall, it is high quality and I definitely recommend it.

This is my second Epson projector. The other one is the Epiqvision Mini (EF-12). This Epiqvision flex is very portable, fits in my backpack and and so easy to setup. Since I have a point of comparison, the EF-12 has better resolution and brightness. This is only 800p, not even 1080p but it is good enough. And its built-in speaker is not so good, the EF-12 has a Yamaha soundbar built in. So for my setup, I connect it to a Roku soundbar so my sound issues are solved! For half the price of the EF-12, this does the job perfectly
