This scanner worked well for about a year, total scans about 60-80 individual scans. Now, the application won't load, no matter how many times I reinstall the drivers and apps, downloading from the website and also from the original CD. Mysteriously, when I power it down, it will scan all by itself one time before it shuts off. Then a non-editable oversized version of the scan pops up on screen. Totally disappointing. I looked everywhere for the solution, does the same thing on my wife's apple computer as well as my Dell. Totally disappointing.

I've had this for several years and it's never failed to do a wonderful job. I bought it primarily to scan photos. However, I use it extensively to make pdf docs. Had to download a new driver when Windows 10 came out. It continues to perform beautifully. Highly recommended for sure!!

I had an earlier model and upgraded to the V370 which allows me to convert photo, slides etc. to digital.

set pictures on the scanner bed and it scans them individually does color correction and adjustments automatically. The quality of positive and negative slides is beyond what i thought was possible. scans them individually and they are very clear. these scanner rocks!!!!! this is my opinion. after reading legal document he he

Bought this a month ago to replace an Epson Perfection Photo 3170 that I'd have for nearly 10 years but had CCD's go bad. This unit is no faster than the 10-year-old model but does work with the same Smart Panel software so there was little or no learning curve. The hinge is on the long side of the scanning bed rather than the short side, thus making it difficult to scan books or other bound materials. Also, template used to scan slides still holds only 4 slides and is more cumbersome than the older one that came with the 3170. Seems like Epson could have come up with a few improvements in the past 10 years. But that said, it does produce good quality scans, albeit slowly for slides.

Handy and capable device. Scans your old, physical pictures into digital format with ease and high quality. The film/slide attachment is very useful as well, keeping them align while scanning.

It's what I wanted a mid level scanner to be -- good resolution appropriate software, a smaller desk footprint, and, of particular interest to me, a cover that adapts to let me easily place an open book on the glass. One challenge is that the CD included with the scanner contained programs that would no longer run on MacOS Catalina, but it was easy to get the software on-line and install it.

Had a problem with a recalled power supply. Epson couldn't have been nicer. Prompt response. Courteous. Resolved problem.

First of all, the manual is totally inadequate, The machine is very limited as far as settings is concerned. Some photos looked pretty good, yet when they were was scanned the photos were different colors, especially the red faces. No matter how often I looked for solution's, nothing that I found made a difference. This is not my first Scanner, I know that scanners can make it look better, not always, but surely this scanner should be able to produce good quality photos from good photos. I bought it specifically for scanning old slides but I'm reluctant to try.

I'm almost done scanning and saving the negatives from many years' worth of family photos. My daughter is due to give birth to her first child in August and wanted photos from when she was born. This is perfect timing to get this fantastic scanner. I'm a bit slower on scanning slides - getting my slides to align in the frame is a little harder than the negatives, which work great.

I received this scanner as a Christmas gift and finally set it up to scan the huge mountain of photos and slides. I haven't used the slide tray yet, but I'm very happy with the quality of the photo scans and the color correction mode on the old faded photos from many years ago.

I bought this as soon as it was restocked last month and I couldn't be happier. Sure the V600 is fancier and maybe looks cooler but this was well worth saving the $100 and not upgrading. Quality is amazing and the auto crop function makes everything soo much easier. Please buy this if scanner if you are scanner shopping.

Received this as a gift to replace my previous scanner. It has exceeded my expectations of scanning old film from the 50s.

I purchased this some time ago (years maybe) and it has done a great job. I purchased it specifically to scan thousands of old negative and slides, both color and black and whit. It has done a great job, if I had to do it again I would buy the same scanner.

I bought the scanner in Jan 2018, and it is used moderately for work and home use. I have not had to replace any parts and the sound during operation is minimal. I am very satisfied with this product

I bought this due to its multiple capabilities at a low price point. Satisfied, it will see heavy use with 35mm. Economical vs. Studio printing of '35mm

I bought this scanner about a year ago and have used it to digitally archive my brother's photos, slides, and film negatives, and it has performed very well for those. Now I am moving on to my own photos that include 29 years of contract archaeology in the U.S., so it is going to get a really good workout before I'm done. Aside from my time in retirement, this device will save me thousands of dollars in digitizing fees for having this done by any of the services available for such tasks.

I'm pretty disappointed with this scanner. It is not wifi, so must be plugged into computer to use. The process of scanning is difficult. I thought it would be push a button and get a scan of your document. By the way, the scan to email does not work with Google Chrome, which is a problem because that is what we use. It's disappointing because that was the main feature I wanted to use. But just to scan to a pdf requires pushing a button on the scanner, then waiting on a pop up screen on the computer for about 15 seconds, then clicking the "Begin scan" button. Then wait again, then get the exact same pop up window, but this time you have to know click on the "Finish Scan" button. Then it finally scans the document. Oh, you also have to select the destination for the scan on your computer. The first time I scanned, I could not locate the document anywhere on my computer. Also the directions and online directions are not very helpful at all.

My sister passed away in January. I was in charge of the Memorial presentation. The scanner was a life saver as I had to scan a large number of photos to use in the Memorial presentation. The scans came out great.

It is very time consuming to scan anyway and the program itself is not helping to speed things up because each negative strip has to reboot the app. I wish the app would stay open and not have to be opened or accessed each time. There are not many custom things we can do with our scans but the basics are automatic and work out ok

Unfortunately, the software is a Windows adaptation for Mac. Many features are missing when you use this scanner with MacOS base system.

I bought a new v370 a week ago and today tried to install it. The directions were great and I followed them all, I should have realized they were going too well. When I got done I kept getting Can't Communicate with Scanner. So I called Epson Support and they were very nice but after 2 phone calls and 3 hours they couldn't fix it. I had already tried to install using Windows also and it wouldn't but 2 different other folks wouldn't believe me so they wasted my time on the phone trying that. No matter what we did we kept getting that message. I learned two things: 1. It has to be plugged directly into the computer not thru a USB hub, 2. The driver you get on the CD is outdated and the driver you download from Epson also is. But the 2 page "manual" didn't mention either of these. It is very clear this machine is at the end of its life. I'm returning it.

Excellent but

I use this mostly to scan negatives and slides into my computer photo program and am getting excellent results. I have completed scanning approximately 300 slides and a few negatives with excellent results. I am partial to Epson products because of the high quality of their printers and I found this scanner to fit into the same category of being an excellent purchase.
Solid scanner, nice footprint, doing well

I've just received a lot of old family materials that I want to scan for my purposes before offering the "hard copies" to other family members who might want to actually store them. While my [Epson] printer has a scanner, I wanted a slightly larger size but still compact enough to put on my desk so I could scan easily while also doing some other work. The Epson V370 has proven great for this purpose. While I rate it at 5-stars, there are a few aspects I would like to see improved or changed....

The Epson Perfection V370 Photo Scanner features a 4800dpi optical resolution and a CCD sensor with ReadyScan LED technology. The scanner's high resolution is ideal for scanning both photos and documents and its 48-bit color depth and 3.2 Dmax provide accurate color rendition for all your scans. In addition to scanning documents, the scanner features a built-in transparency unit so you can scan film and slides as well. Easily convert your old negatives and slides to digital images you can see, edit and reprint on your computer.
The scanner comes with OCR software for both Windows and Mac so you can easily convert scanned documents into editable text. Additionally, you can scan directly to a PDF file and create searchable PDF files. The included software also provides an easy way to scan directly to email or cloud storage. The lid opens up to a full 180deg. so you can easily place any item directly on the scanner and it will even correct for shadows created by a book spine. The scanner uses a standard USB 2.0 connection and is compatible with both TWAIN and WIA drivers.
