Perfect for Film Scanning in 2020
Perfect condition and item was received exactly as described. Was able to easily set it up with a new (2019) Macbook Pro for film scanning purposes. Came with instructions on installation features and all necessary film trays and cords. Thanks Adorama for your awesome service!!

Good investment!
Gave me more control over the development process. If you're shooting frequently and have the time to scan, this is the product for you. Time consuming, but worth the investment.

Very capable scanner with excellent software and built-in corrections
Very pleased with the purchase of a refurbished unit. It was in excellent condition and all the parts were included. The package was shipped very securely even though it was not in the original packaging. We have been scanning our home photo collection and the process is easy and the quality of the scans is very good. The dust remover has been helpful. I especially like the color correction feature on older photos. I had some old yellowing photos that now look completely different with all the color restored.

Excellent Condition, Slow Scanner
In excellent condition. Scanning with Epson programs is a slow, and after the Mac update that killed 32-bit programs went through, regular old Epson Scan didn't work. Downloading Epson Scan 2 fixed the issue, although it was a littttttle harder to figure out and I noticed an initial drop in scan quality that I since fixed. I understand using programs other than Epson Scan makes for better scans but I have yet to pull the trigger on that.

The Epson Perfection V550 refurbished version looks brand new and works great! Definitely save yourself some money and go with the refurbished one.

Easy and Effective
I bought this to scan a box of old negatives I've been meaning to do something with for years. This refurb was the right price and scanning them is easy and (relatively) quick. I haven't owned a scanner in a few years and while it still isn't lightning fast, it's much faster than what I used in the past. I have hundreds of old negatives to scan, and this is the most cost effective way for a non-professional like myself to preserve those old snapshots.

Very happy.
The scanner described in a nutshell: slow but precise.
The given pricepoint and its options are great. I have used it so far for “120” mid format films, and it scans as fine as the grain structure of the film. I can go even way below the max resolution and see no loss of detail.
If the mid format film is in frames, one has to pull them out, there is no option for that. The provided holders are coded (IMHO) and recognized by the hardware/software.
Epson has a wide variety of software versions, fitting many OS. I had zero problems installing it.
I do scans since 1994, this is my fourth scanner. I mainly use scanners for my fine-art reproductions. This is the best I had so far.
The only thing that stands out, on the "con" side, if I scan four at once, the scanner takes a pause between individual scans, which obviously can be stopped with a single click. Otherwise, it runs on its own.
It scans in 16bit/channel, which I think is a must-have.

Really nice scanner!
Works very well, setup was very easy. love the color repair you can do with it. I have a lot of photos to digitize. Hope I can get it done with this scanner. Great price and very fast delivery!

The only scanner you'll need, especially for home photography use.
Easy to set up and use. Onscreen user's manual is well written and organized. Footprint is ideal for small spaces, and powerful scanning capabilities with adapters provided for scanning slides and negative strips. Ideal for the amateur and professional alike.

Solid beginner scanner
I just started doing film photography with a Pentax K1000 and wanted to learn how to do develop and scan on my own. Overall, this scanner is solid for beginners. Software is easy to navigate if you’ve used Lightroom or Photoshop. My only complaint is that sometimes it doesn’t sync properly with my scanner, but a few reboots fixes the problem.

The design is a few years old, but it is still being sold as a popular prosumer scanner.

Couldn’t tell that it was refurbished. Seemed pretty new and all the parts and the scanner came in the oem box. First film scans are good and what I expect from my time working with these scanners in the past. Will recommend.

Great Buy!!!!
I got this to scan my negatives and it does the job well! Like extremely well at that!!! It gives me big enough files that I can make big prints especially if you have 6x7 or even 6x8 medium format negatives! This was a great choice for me! Easy to use!! Very intuitive

Solid Negative Scanner
Good scanner so far, have been scanning both negatives and documents/images for the past three weeks of owning it and it works really well. Taking one star off for the software - when you set something to scan you have to always remember to move the mouse around to "wake up" the software, happens with each and every scan. Other than that, so far so good. Glad I purchased the refurbished product, just as good for almost half the price.
