Easy set up and use.

Although, I have only been using this printer for about a month I felt the set up is very easy and easy to use. I actually bought this for my tech challenged husband and he can use it without accessing our 'home' IT support, so this is a bonus for me. :)

Wont print in Black/White

My printer is currently out of Cyan ink and it wont let me print a Word a Powerpoint slide that is white and black in white and black. I have selected Grayscale, updated the drivers and firmware, etc. It truly won't allow me to print a document with black ink in black font. Last time I ever buy an Epson.

It prints at least..

I like this printer, it is small and doesn’t take up much space, the fact is that is grabs the paper a little hard and then the picture is shifted to one side, but it is a good printer, maybe

Worse Printer

This is the worse printer I've dealt with. It uses up ink like crazy and the ink is expensive. The print jobs are rarely good. I feel like I'm constantly having to troubleshoot.

Firmware upgrade turns printer into an ornament

Firmware upgrade Dec 17, 2019 now tells me 2 of the 4 genuine Epson cartridges are not recognized and to replace them. Out of the blue, 2 hours trying every recommendation on the internet to no avail!

Epson Update Sucks.. Ripoff!

I bought this a couple of months ago specifically because a good tech guy I know said that you can use off brand ink in this printer. That is where printer companies get you. Low cost printer up front but Jack up the ink. Well it worked great until I had an epison update on my computer when all of a sudden it said the ink was not recognized. So I wasted my money on this printer. Guess I'll be looking for another. In the mean time I can't use my printer until I get more Epson specific cartridges while the other ones I have go to waste. And I'll be paying their price for ink too. Total BS!

Cheap printer

Lasted for around 1 year. Paper feed messed up, advances 50% of sheet and then gives paper jam message.

Printing is fuzzy!

I purchased this during my busy holiday season. My original epsom printer stopped printing and I needed a backup immediately. But the printing from this printer was fuzzy, even after head cleaning. I contacted tech support but even after following their directions it still printed fuzzy. I tried different papers but it did not change. Because my business depends on my print quality I had to purchase another printer the next day. It is very slow but I did like the top loading feature.

Printer Driver Issues

Getting it set-up has been a bear! Everything ...with one major exception...working OK so far. Exception: Can Print test pages wirelessly, etc. but CANNOT SCAN photos or documents to the computer. I'm sure the answer is "out there" I just attempted to download driver stuff from you website...have no idea if it "took."

Not good

Been using Epson printers for over twenty years and really never had a complaint until the last two. Both use ink that is way too expensive. We don't use it much so more ink is used cleaning the heads than in actual printing. While that is a problem with most inkjets, Epson's requirement of no third party catridges drives the cost way up. When one can replace the printer for the same money as refreshing the ink, something is not right. Filling landfills with working equipment is just wrong. Might have to look at a laser going forward.

After accidentally trying to use third party cartridges, now the machine will not function even with a “genuine” Epson cartridge

Delighted with this printer & scanner

I love the compact size and streamlined look of this printer-scanner. But after I left it unused for 6 months, it printed light streaky copies. I replaced the black cartridge, but it still printed blank streaks, and running the tests drank up all the ink in the cartridges! So I bought a refurbished model for the same price as a new set of cartridges. The first copy streaked! Yikes! But the fix was right in the machine--after running it, everything worked fine. The online help is really good. Also, I especially like the scanner--its interface is easy to use, and it has a lot more settings than I expected to find. The one suggestion I have is to bundle the utilities and drivers more effectively. I had to download at least 4 before everything worked properly on my Mac.

Good home printer

This does a nice job and generally I’m happy with it. Unfortunately, one must be extremely tech savvy in order to figure out settings. If you disconnect to move this, it’s necessary to reset to WiFi. Very complicated and poorly written instructions. Even though my WiFi password has never changed, it kept telling me ‘incorrect password’. Necessary to call Epson to have them program it.

Disappointment

I like the small size. But it would almost never communicate with my WiFi for the longest time. It was hit or miss-mostly miss- for months. Then it finally started working consistently & I was thrilled. Unfortunately, that thrill was short lived. Now the copy function only works on color mode & anytime I attempt to print something, it comes out really faded like I'm out of ink. But I replaced the ink with brand new cartridges. I'm fed up with the inconsistencies of this printer. I do not recommend this item.

Worst print quality!

Every time I get new ink cartridges, I can print maybe 2 pages, then the rest of the pages come out streaky, if it prints at all!

OK

It will not scan, it will not print in black if any color cartridge is out. I am not happy I have to stop what i'm doing to get a darn cartridge to print some ones logo I don't care about. If I can find a printer a low cost printer that just prints with black ink i'm buying it! Otherwise it works like any other printer.

Just what I needed

I purchased this product a couple of months ago and I am very pleased with it's performance. The salesman at Staples listened to what my printing requirements were such as volume of work and precise quality of printing. Since I use my printer for precisely personal use and study, this was a perfect match. No technical problems or glitches!

VERY GOOD

I BOUGHT THIS A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT WORKED WELL BUT NOW IT RUNS VERY SLOW AND INTERMITTENTLY. MY TECHNICIANS TELL ME THAT THEIR IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE XP-440'S INTERNAL SOFTWARE AND THAT I SHOULD BRING IT BACK TO WALMART, WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED OR SEND IT BACK TO EPSON FOR A REPLACEMENT. WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?

Nothing but problems

I bought this printer in May to replace an Epson WF-7610. We loved the WF-7610 so we decided to go Epson again. This was easy to set up and prints look good. About a month after having it, the printer started to go offline and could not connect to any device. I would go through the steps to get it back online. Sometimes that would work & sometimes not. Sometimes it would magically start working by itself. There was a 2 month period we couldn't get it to work at all. Then I started using it with a wired connection. Then it wouldn't work like that, either. After several attempts of uninstalling/reinstalling, I was ready to throw it away. Then I decided to do the setup right off the bat as wired. That worked. So now no one can print from a wireless device and if we need to print from our laptops we have to bring the laptop over to the printer. I would not recommend it.

Easy as pie setup

By Grandma K.

My old Kodak printer that I have had for years finally gave it up. Went searching for a new one and Epson was recommended by am IT friend. Usually my son sets up any computer related items that I have (he recently moved so not available). I set this printer up, plugged it in, and the minute I connected it to my router it also connected to my desktop. I like that I am able to print from my phone as well as my tablet. Nothing could have been easier. And it was on sale!! I would recommend thi...

All my home networked pc's were setup to print directly, through Epson connect, and cloud services in no time. Very pleased with this printer and its options so far. Finally...
