Replacing 7100 printer with new 7100. Works as indicated. Excellent printer. Have not installed new one yet, but expect it to work like the current printer. I broke an ink tab on current printer, and waiting for the ink to run dry as the cartridge cannot be replaced. New 7100 still in the box.

What a piece of junk, poor connection, paper jams supposedly , but never see one, won't pick up paper, everything the bad reviews say. Now paper try won't open. Had trouble with this from the start and now it's been over a year. Stupid me should have returned it immediately! The guy at staples still recommends this! Not me! To bad had to HPs lasted forever, but this was recommended, buy it return it as soon as you have trouble!

I've had this for years and didn't realize a printer could be this big of a problem. It's always jamming, always glitches out when I need to print more than 4 pages, and says it needs more paper when it's full of paper. Couldn't think of a bigger useless piece of crap in my house over this printer that's works just as good as a wet sponge

The print quality is exceptional, the best of any home printer I've ever used. The scanner is great. The rear feed tray is perfect for cardstock/thicker types of paper. However, the ink cartridges are tiny, and expensive, and it feels like they run out about every other print. Worth it for someone who cares deeply about quality print media, get the ecojuice thing if not.

we have had this printer for months. We thought we were upgrading. Every time we want to print we have to figure out how to get the wifi to work. It's hit or miss and takes up way too much time.

Worst printer I've ever owned. I regret this purchase in a big way. Less than 6 months old. Can't print multiple pages from an iPad - message says paper size doesn't match. Can no longer wirelessly scan to my computer. No longer does duplex printing. Doesn't come with USB cable. Ink needs replacing often. Print quality is very poor - looks like cheap multiple copy printing - colors faded. Wireless firmware update failed after 1 hour. Tech support said dismiss the update message?? So don't update firmware?

It CONSTANTLY errors and I can never just print something. It's the most problematic printer I've ever owned. If you go more than a couple of days without printing, you'll have to uninstall and reinstall the printer/driver on your computer to get it to print again. It's seriously a piece of crap device.

The print quality is only average and it constantly requires cleaning. I have had two Canon printers that lasted forever and never required cleaning the way this one does. Several times a year I am dealing with loads of black ink running down the page from rollers I suspect. Honestly never owned a printer that required so much maintenance. I purchased it so that I could easily scan things from the computer into my printer, but connectivity for scanning somehow is always a problem. If I ask it to scan from my computer, it always works. If I tell it to scan while I'm standing in front of the printer and putting the documents in, never works. I hate this UX of this printer. I hate that when it's out of paper I have to tell it that I'm putting paper in and then I have to tell it that I'm done putting paper in I literally have to hit the same thing twice. The printer works. And it's worked for a few years. So I guess it gets a thumbs up for longevity.

Love the printer, however... First one lasted a year before the display started failing. Epson responded very quickly and replaced it! All good now except that I need to use the cleaning function so very often to make sure that my print outs aren't smudged or loaded with "ink cakes." Connectivity and speed are just fine and the ADF is a bonus!

I bought this model to replace my aging Artisan 730 which gave twenty years of service. I am very impressed with the similar functionality of this new printer. Its ability to scan at 600dpi allows for easy doubling in size for old family photos. I can scan either directly or to an SD card which is my preference. The touch screen commands are easily figured out. The duplex feed is different but easy enough. The printer is light years faster than my 730! As usual thought, the extended ink replacement cartridges are expensive albeit there are five when the old unit required six. The unit is smaller but a bit higher. I am very impressed with the photo quality as well. Imo, a great buy! The Apple Macintosh does not use the Windows provided disc but the drivers, utilities, firmware update are all on the Epson website for this model. Good support is also available from Epson. Very happy so far.

I bought the Epson XP-7100 from Amazon. When I registered my serial number there was a statement that it was out of warranty and it had expired in 2023. I talked to a customer service person, that said even though it was brand new they would not warranty their Epson printer. They considered it used. But it was not used. I guess I should have bought an HP Printer. They know it's new because no one else has tried to register this brand new Epson printer. This model is still being sold today. I also guess I should not have bought it from Amazon.

The only place for this printer is the dumpster. Total piece of junk. Requires too much i teraction...just print the page. Screen way too small. Overthought couldn't scan not intuitive I took great pleasure in beating the crap out of it and will gleefully throw it and 250 away for sanity. Don't buy cheap printers.

Excellent quality document printing. Suggestions: The output drawer should retract when the screen goes dark after many minutes of non-use. Also, there could be a "Done for Now" command executable from the computer that darkens the screen and retracts the output drawer. I'm not happy that loading a multi-page document in the automatic feeder results in reverse-order output pages. I'll be trying some presentation and CD disc printing soon and, if the quality of the output remains as good as with everyday documents, I'll up the rating to four stars. Happy with the purchase at this point.

Absolute bollox. Wont print offline at all, driver doesnt work for scanning, or for my 2nd laptop. Prints like a half dozen mostly blank pages every time I turn it on. Print queue constantly hangs. Took me an hour to print a single page the other day. Dont buy this thing.

This is the 4th Epson printer I have purchased in 20 years. I have always liked the quality of the photos I've been able to print. All the printers I've purchased have had the ability to print on DVD and CD discs using an adapter. No need for labels to be stuck on a disc. This is the second XP-7100 I have purchased. The first one was a refurbished unit that lasted 2 1/2 years. I print pictures everyday and it may have been too much because the internal pad just got all gunked up. Could not be cleaned and started to degrade photos that were being printed, despite cleaning the heads frequently. The printer works well with double sided prints, saving costs on paper. Scanner makes great copies and files can be saved as several different file types. Software for photo printing is very easy to use.I'd recommend this to friends and family.

NOT user friendly. I can NEVER just print or even copy a document. It always requires me to spend about 20 minutes restarting, reinstalling the same new ink cartridge repeatedly until I bang the cartridge on the counter and install it. There is always some connection issue and I have it wired to my laptop. Nothing is easy with this printer. I hate it. A bad purchase. I don't have the time or extra money to deal with this.

This printer is a piece of junk. Everytime I want to print something, I have to reload the program. I use a wireless router. It's been about 2 months since I printed anything. Now it does not recognize my computor. I try re-loading programs. I am about to take this and throw it the dumpster and start all over with a better brand.

What would otherwise be a fine printer is crippled by antiquated software and the inability to have effective two-way communication with modern routers. Despite having spent hours following suggestions from online chat boards about how to get the printer to play happily with a W11 PC, I still could not get the printer to detect the PC. So while I could print and scan from the PC, I could not initiate a scan from the screen on the device. I spent an hour educating the tech service representative from the offshore call center, begging to be escalated, before finally giving up. Too expensive to return, will give the printer away.

I rarely post negative reviews but I am so tired of wasting paper and ink with this printer. Globs of ink on photos; streaks across nearly every color print job; globs of ink across simple text print jobs, missing lines of text. Check the Nozzles, clean the Nozzles, clean the Nozzles again. Same result. If you're looking to be frustrated, buy Epson; otherwise, if this printer is representative of the company as a whole and its products, DON'T buy Epson.

This printer has way too many errors-one after the other. It's big and clunky, the paper slots don't hold enough paper, and it can't even be detected when it's connected to my Wi-Fi. I often have to resort to going back to the library to print. This was a waste of my money.

Epson XL cartridges purchased from Epson do not reliably fit the slots. The number of retries to get proper color registration with clean print heads and nozzles burns through a LOT of ink. Service techs I spoke with call this printer a "princess" because it's so "delicate." The Epson WorkForce printer that this one replaced was much better in performance and far easier to maintain. I do a lot of writing with embedded photos and multiple paper types and miss the ease of use of its predecessor.

This is hands down the worst printer I've ever purchased. It's incredibly clunky physically. (the way you load paper is cumbersome. It ALWAYS catches the photo tray. You can only manually feed ONE piece of paper in the top loader. It keeps telling me it has firmware to update and never will actually do it no matter how many times I go through the steps. The ink is crazy expensive and goes through a lot. The only plus is it prints nice photos but as an every day printer it's terrible. Constant updates, a million apps (scan, print, photo, MoRe) ...

Though it does just fine with printing standard documents, photo printing is a whole other thing. One of the selling points for us was that it was supposed to have great quality photo printing and with ease. It DOES NOT and is not. There are constant issues while printing photos and while burning through ink, having to re-print over and over. Incredibly frustrating. I do not recommend this printer if you are trying to make cards, or print family photos, or work images. Now scanning is an issue as well. I had multiple inquiries about the scanning feature. I had 5 different agents and claim numbers due to "connection" loss. Then after 3+ hours of phone time, they proceeded to tell me to call my internet provider.

I've had this about 6 months and I think it is very hard to use. After 6 months I still cannot complete a more than 1 page PDF file on it. So discouraging. There are times I just want to junk it, but I don't have the money to go out every 6 months to get another one. :(

Fantastic Printer

I have had the Epson XP-7100 for about 5 weeks. It's the best Epson I've owned. This new model replaced my Epson Artisan All In One from 2013. I've owned only Epson printers since 1983. The XP-7100 setup was easy. The directions were accurate. The CD in the box is only for Windows computers. I use only Apple products. Going to the Epson website to get the iMac drivers was simple. Driver installation on my iMac running Mojave was quick. I worried about compatibility with the new Mojave OS but ...
