I have had this product for a while now and the thing that gets me the most is when you try to scan a document and the page gets cutoff. The printing feature works just fine, but the scanner has a problem in cutting off documents, so I do not recommend this product for people with sensitive documents.

I bought this printer- all in one- for my home. When the starter ink cartridges indicated they needed to be replaced, I bought Epson replacement ink. Printer would not recognize the ink . I returned to Staples and they gave me a new box of the same ink telling me that sometimes the cartridges come in to them but fail. I installed this new box. Printer did not recognize the ink. called for tech help today after months of not using the printer. told that the unit is a defective unit but Staples ( I have extended 2 yr. warranty ) must address it now as the unit manufacturer warranty is just one year. Tomorrow back to Staples for the argument.

I have had so many issues with this printer. I know it's not expensive but it is really unreliable. I regret buying this as the only printer for my company. I will grow old waiting for my print jobs to finish, and broke paying for all of the ink it goes through.

Setting this beast up is a horrible experience. WI-Fi Direct instructions are incomplete. Communication failures; Print job rejected messages... It's a disaster.

Pros - very fine quality printer at a reasonsble price. Cons - inputting the network info can be a little tricky. I believe that could (may?) be improved on newer models.

Bought this all-in-one mostly for the scanning abilities and it works great. I am scanning old family photographs and putting them on CD to share.

I bought the printer August 2017. It works ok, it is wireless thus less clutter of cables, and it doesn't take much desk space; however paper jams occur frequently and the wireless connection is very inconsistent, although we have kept with all the updates.

I have owned this all-in-one for years. recently either an update to windows or an update to the printer software has reduced this machine to a paperweight. I've tried reinstalling the printer. reinstalling drivers. reinstalling software. I've managed to get it functioning again, but not at a level that I would recommend to anyone. I honestly don't know where the problem lies or how to fix it. I am ready to take a sledgehammer to it "Office Space" style. That being said, my next printer and or scanner will still be an epson.

My Epson XP-380 is caput... poor quality...w-fi has always had chronic issues communicating with my pc... poor quality (scratchy look to print), & takes forever to print a page... usually have to re-boot each time... terrible experience... perhaps you'd like to give me back my money to put toward my new HP MFP-179fnw??? Let me know. Gerry B, Bluffton, SC

I have had this printer for several years now and it has done a good job for me, The one downer is that recently, and suddenly, I have lost the ability to do two sided printing. I don't know what that's about, but it's disappointing.

I have been using the XP-830 for two years. What I really like about the printer is it small size, allowing me to place it right next to my desktop computer, WiFi option me allowing to communicate with the printer from anywhere in my house. Printing quality is excellent. Scanning is a but more complex than i would like, but not a serious problem. Never had any major problems with this model. The only occasional downside is the complexity of some of the instructions in the operation manual.

This is the worst printer I ever bought. I will never buy one from Epson. I will stick to Canon printers which are my favorite. The problems: It often does not print - It says not online, a network problem but it is connected properly. I have to restart PC too often to fix this problem. It automatically selects to print CD/DVD when I do not select it. It sometimes changes print area - it automatically changes margin to much narrower one. Worst of all, I have to press "Output Tray" each time I finish printing - a nuisance and poor design.

I bought two of XP-830 printers and one sits unused because I don’t know how to fix the problem with alignment. Now I am not able to print from my IPad or IPhone. Not at all happy about this. The quality of printing is good and the price is reasonable. I bought this particular printer so I wouldn’t need to use cloud now it appears I have to use Airdrop. Not happy with this change.

Everything works well on this All-In-One and until I got the new BIOS I was very pleased with it. The change locked me out from using anyone else's ink in the printer. At this point I'll never install another upgrade nor will I ever buy or recommend an EPSON printer. The printer still works great in all modes.

I chose the XP-830 in spring 2018 as one of the smallest all-in-one printers I could find to take on the road as we RV over half of each year all over the country now we both retired. Once it is set up with internet access (and all the planet's are aligned perfectly), it works pretty well. However, it's difficult to get the wireless features to work in the first place on a chronic basis as we move every few days. Despite a Wingard extender on the RV roof or good cell reception or hotspot (or even average reception), etc., it's like pulling teeth to get it to respond in every new location. You just dread needing the printer at any new resort or campground. Although I prefer to print many items, I usually resort to handling so many issues online just to avoid the time to deal with the Epson. We've reinstalled hardware & software several times. Now that I want to work PT during winter while parked in one place, the printer is still working sporadically. Not fun or productive! Also, it's heavy for its size and SD card/thumb drive slots only work for photos and not documents...?? It's most likely a decent printer if kept in one location although it's wireless. THANK YOU for reading.

Purchased 3-4 years ago and have had trouble printing by USB cable and Wi-Fi. For more than half of the time we've had it we haven't been able to print. Today I was able to download new software and for now I'm back in business, hopefully permanently, and connected to my home router. Sorry, cannot recommend Epson to anyone until I see if we can use this printer for a while without the plethora of problems we've experienced. The more bells and whistles they add, the more likely hassles will occur...

Ilike my Epson XP 830 and would buy it again! I have use it for copying and printing from my laptops, and it has not failed or disappointed. It is mostly personal use for us, but my husband is self-employed and we use the Epson for small business use as well. I haven't used all the features yet but am confident the photo and scan will work as well. This is my 2nd Epson all-in-one and probably won't be my last. Thank you Epson! The only negative I can think of is that the ink is not available at a certain huge brick and mortar warehouse store where we all shop. So I have to order the ink, but that's easy enough.

We bought this printer about one year ago to replace an HP All-in-one that we had for about 8 years. This is the first Epson that we have owned and it is sadly disappointing. We have had multiple frustrations, including: 1) having to re-install the drivers several times because the printer was not working correctly, or, lost connection to the PCs, 2) the scanning function is inconsistent, and, 3) worst of all, the print quality is fair to poor, specifically leaving streaks on the paper. We have performed the head cleaning function multiple times, have replaced ink cartridges whenever the "low ink" light comes on, but still, it often streaks. In all, the quality and performance has been inconsistent and disappointing.

Great printer. Versatility and print quality are its strengths. Only one issue after nearly 3 years has come up - black smudging develops on printed materials. It's caused by excess ink accumulating on the print head rest pad; blotting it dry with paper towels fixes the problem.

My printer started spitting black ink randomly. I tried cleaning the heads. Now I have error code 09xA that will not clear so I have a large doorstop in my office. No amount of googling has helped me resolve this issue. It is out of warranty and the cost of service is about the same as buying a new printer. What a waste.

This is by far the best printer I've ever owned. Looked it up on Consumer Reports. I really like the low energy use when in idle mode. It makes GREAT prints and is incredibly easy to set up and use over my wireless home network. I can print from numerous devices and my phone simply and easily and it scans really well. Great price, great computer - the ink is even "reasonable" - I mean - as reasonable as printer ink can be I suppose.

Excellent Printer - Easy to Set Up and Use
By Dave100
Great document printing, easy to use scanner/copier. Haven't done anything with photos yet. Feeder works great on multiple pages. Duplexing is great. The initial wifi connection was a little annoying because it's not easy to input network password - easier to use WPS button. But that's one time - all good since.
