From wide-angle landscapes to medium-telephoto portraiture, the FUJINON XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR lens offers unparalleled versatility and superior image quality. This weather-resistant zoom lens boasts a constant aperture of F2.8 across its entire focal range, equivalent to 24mm at wide-angle through to 84mm at medium-telephoto.
Engineered with an advanced optical design, this lens controls various forms of aberration to deliver edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire zoom range. The inclusion of a newly-developed Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coating technology effectively inhibits ghosting and flare, producing clear, high-quality images.
Ideal for a wide range of shooting scenes, this lens covers everything from the wide-angle 24mm equivalent suitable for landscape photography, to the medium-telephoto 84mm equivalent, perfect for capturing stunning portraits.
The XF16-55mm lens is equipped with a linear motor, ensuring fast, quiet autofocusing for a comfortable shooting experience. Its weather-resistant and dust-resistant finish allows it to function in temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius, making it a reliable companion for the FUJIFILM X-T1 premium mirrorless camera, and other compatible models, to create a fully weather-resistant system.
In order to achieve best-in-class image quality, this fast standard zoom lens comprises 17 elements in 12 groups. This includes three aspherical lens elements to control spherical aberration and distortion, and three ED glass lens elements to reduce lateral chromatic aberration (wide-angle) and axial chromatic aberration (telephoto).
The lens also features Fujifilm's unique HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) applied to the entire lens surface, ensuring ghosting and flare are controlled for sharp, clear images. Additionally, the newly developed Nano-GI coating technology reduces ghosting and flare for diagonal incident light.
The lens also boasts nine rounded aperture blades that create a smooth, circular bokeh. Combined with an X Series camera body with Lens Modulation Optimiser (LMO) technology, the lens performance is further enhanced, producing images with edge-to-edge sharpness and a realistic three-dimensional effect, even at small apertures.
The lens also offers high-speed, quiet autofocus thanks to the Linear Motor and an Inner Focusing System. The fastest AF speed of 0.06 seconds, combined with the near-silent shutter sound, allows for discreet photography in quiet locations.
The FUJINON XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR lens is not only high-performing but also boasts a high build quality with a metal exterior and focus and aperture rings for a refined finish. The lens mount is made from brass for improved strength. The AF+MF function enables seamless manual focusing, allowing for fine adjustments after autofocusing on the subject.
This lens is approximately 60% of the weight of a full-size system when combined with a camera body, significantly reducing the burden on the photographer and ensuring ease of use.
