The focal length range of the Fujifilm XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6R LM OIS WR lens is 18-135mm, offering a wide range of shooting options from wide-angle to telephoto.
The lens is weather-sealed and dust-proof, making it resistant to harsh weather conditions. It also features advanced image stabilization technology that allows for sharp, blur-free images even in low light, making it ideal for outdoor and travel photography.
The lens features a multi-layer HT-EBC coating. This coating ensures high permeability and low reflectance, effectively reducing lens flare and ghosting for clearer, sharper images.
The lens was initially designed to be exclusively compatible with the Fujifilm X-T1, the only other weatherproof camera in the X-series lineup. For compatibility with other Fujifilm cameras, it's recommended to check the camera's specifications.
Yes, the lens supports video shooting. It is equipped with an inner linear focusing mechanism and has minimal focus noise, ensuring quiet operation when shooting video.

I got a used version of this lens to use with my XT3 from Adorama that has some issues with the zoom, but Ado is going to make it right. That being said, I've been experimenting with the lens (they said I could use it until it gets replaced), and it exceeds optical expectations. It really shines in well lit atmospheres, so exteriors and bright interiors. Even fully telephoto at f5.6, the depth of field is really nice. Focus is great. OIS works well. Shot some video last night of the parking lot behind my apartment. Some fluorescents but otherwise pretty dark. Even with a little light, I was still able to capture some interesting stuff at 135mm! Good testing because, rainy = grainy. Some crunch on the low end and lift on the brights in color correction. Testing out some more video capabilities later today and will update here. Sunny day so I'll try it with an ND. Only reason I gave four stars is because the Zoom isn't smooth, a bit sticky. For photos, doesn't matter, but for video it's a problem.

I am reviewing this based on a previous copy of the lens I bought years ago, but recently broke, rather than the one I just bought from Adorama. I can't attest to that copy yet. But for general purpose use, this lens has a great range and is very sharp corner to corner, from wide to telephoto. It focuses very close, even when zoomed, and in that sense serves as a nice closeup lens--not exactly macro 1:1 but much closer than most other lenses like this can focus. Great for a hike when you want to shoot some flowers, or insects, or a landscape, or even an animal far away. However, I wish it went down to 16mm, so it would be 24-135mm equivalent. I'd gladly give up 10mm on the long end even, for 24, or better yet 22mm or 20mm on the wide end (effective).

This is my everyday carry lens. Its a little big (that is one of the reasons I purchased the Fuji Grip). This lens produces very sharp images and takes you from wide angle to mid-telephoto. My images are used right out of the camera with no post processing done while shooting in JPEG. If you only get one lens get either this one.

I love this lens! Super-useful focal range, built like a tank. A little top-heavy on my X-T20, but with the grip it’s manageable. Travel photography walk-around when you need both wide and tele but don’t want to/have time to change lenses.

Not a fast F-stop but it covers a lot of ground. It is that carry one lens kind and perfect for the do a little of it all.

Produces crisp images when paired with my new Fuji X-T2. Bought this to augment my Samyang 12mm f2.0 lens that I use for Real Estate Photography. I previously used a Sony A65 body with Tokina 11-16mm, Tamron 17-50mm, and 70-200mm lenses and the image qualities are far superior with the new Fuji gear.

This is a great all around lens! Light weight, with a great focal length range. Might be the only lens you need!

I have 18-55, 14, 16, 35f1.4 and this 18-135. I leave this on the XT1 unless there's a reason to change it. WR, OIS and never disappoints. The 35f1.4 sits on my XE1, still my favorite prime for mood and quality. (16mm is wow!, but I'm still getting used to its angle).

I have been using it mostly at night with occasional water spray (I am a photographer for the local fire company.). I get good photos !

Amazing lens that can do it all. Much better than the typical super zoom or kit zoom.

I wanted a lens that gave me a wider range. My photography is such that I can't easily change lenses. This is just as sharp as my 18-55 which is very sharp! It is on my camera 85% of the time.

While i"m primarily a Nikon shooter, I went with the Fuji X-T1 for travel use. I sold my 18-55 and my 55-200 Fujinon lenses and purchased this lens as a replacement. I think it's a great choice for a travel lens. I reviewed the focal lengths of the lenses from previous trips and the focal length of this lens covers the vast majority of those opportunities. While I would love a f/4 maximum aperture, I realize that it would come at the expense of size and weight. The image definition is very good. The focusing is a fast as any of the Fuji lenses I have had, and the image stabilization goes a long way to mitigate the f/3.5-5.6 aperture limitation. Combined with my 10-24 mm f/4 and 23 mm f/14, I think I've settled on a travel set up that I will be using for a long time

The Fujifilm XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6R M IOS WR lens is the first weather-sealed lens in the fast-evolving X-series lineup of mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera system, and has the world's most advanced image stabilization technology. Based on the lineup's APS sensors, the lens covers the 35mm equivalent range of 27-206mm. At its introduction, the Fujifilm XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6R M IOS WR was fully compatible with the Fujifilm X-T1, which is the only other weatherproofed camera in the X-series lineup.
The lens has 20 dust-proof and weather-proof sealed points, including a waterproof structure and compact design, and is being marketed to photographic enthusiasts looking for an all-around travel lens that can be used in extreme weather on their Fujifilm X-T1 cameras. Let's take a closer look at this lens.
Classy glass: Fujifilm has put some impressive glass in this lens: It has 4 aspherical glass lenses, 2 ED glass elements, and multi-layer HT-EBC coating, which has high permeability (99.8%) and low reflectance and reduces lens flare and ghosting.
Fast, quiet: The electronics are also well-matched to the X-series system, with Fujifilm claiming an inner linear focusing mechanism and a claimed AF speed as fast as 0.08 second when shooting in Performance Mode (based on CIPA standards). Focus noise is said to be very low, allowing for quiet operation when shooting video.
5-Stop Stabilization: Fujifilm claims this lens has the world's most advanced image stabilization technology, boasting a 5-stop range. This is made possible thanks to a new, high-precision gyro sensor with quarts oscillators that detect movement from high frequency to low frequency bandwidths. The ability to detect low-frequency band movement, along with a newly-developed algorithm that interprets the information, has lead to what Fujifilm says is a doubling of usable slow shutter speeds. This enables users to shoot in low light without a tripod.
Protection: The lens has been weather-sealed in 20 different areas of the lens barrel so sudden rain, dust and water splashes won't affect the optics or operation of the lens. To compensate for the weather seals (which could make zooming the lens feel stiff) a ventilator was placed inside the lens barrel. The Fujifilm XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6R M IOS WR lens is designed to be paired with the Fujifilm X-T1, which is currently the only weather-resistant Fujifilm MILC currently available.
