Recently I traveled to Berlin, to film a spectacular event: The Festival of Lights, with my Fuji X-T3 and the Fuji XF 18-55mm "Kit Lens". The results were outstanding, considering I didn't use a tripod, flash, nor a gimbaI. I used manual settings only, in both photo- and video mode. I was surprised, that this lens delivered such crisp images, while filming the interior of a cathedral, without an additional light source. If I could only carry one lens during my journeys, the 18-55mm would be the one. Filmed in 10-Bit, H.265 / Simulation Modes: Provia & Velvia Handheld, no gimbal, no tripod, no flash light

This is Not the typical “kit lens”. This is the Best all around lens that you can find in the photography market. Its build quality is definitely great, metal for the most part, it is tide and it zoom smoothly. Fuji’s optical image stabilizer (OIS) is something else. There is no difference in quality between those made in Japan and those assembled in Philippines, it is simply excellent glass for most situations.

Somehow I had concentrated on wide angle and telephoto lenses but completely missed the sweet spot in the middle. This lens covers all the "normal" photo situations.

Bought this for my x-t20. Shot my granddaughter playing soccer and the motion shots even at distance came out sharp with excellent color. It also does a great job with landscape and closeup shots outdoors. On the down side, the lens is out matched when the light is low. Its slow, blurry and requires a fair amount of compensation if shooting faces and people indoors.

I very recently purchased the Fujifilm XE2, and opted for the 18-55 lens at this time vs. the 35mm prime. Having the low range of aperture was very appealing to me as I often shoot in lower light conditions. The sharpness of this lens is excellent. The lens came bundled with quality items of filters, cleaning kit, and storage bag. Service from Adorama was excellent as well...packaging was thorough, tracking, and very timely ship to arrival was excellent.

The lens is a great walk around companion. Did some street shooting with a friend a couple of days ago and it was perfect companion. The lens was a fantastic price from Adorama for its condition--D for demo? Glass was spotless, no scratches. It did not have a manual or the box but the manual can be downloaded off the web if need be (who really reads anyway?). I got a used lens in pristine condition at substantial savings. And it is a great travel lenses with great optics for the money. It's not your father's kit lens indeed. Thanks Adorama. I feel confident buying used equipment from you.

Please don't confuse this lens with a kit lens - it's far, far better than any kit lens by any other manufacturer. This lens is very sharp and produces excellent shadow detail. When used on the X t1, in Velvia film mode, the color is beyond Leica quality. That Fuji glass is exceptional has long been an accepted fact; that this relatively inexpensive mid-range zoom is so very, very good makes it a value indeed.

I bought this as a kit with XE-1. really impressed with the built quality of this lens, considering the super value when you purchase it as a kit. It is built with the same attention to details as the Zeiss Touit series. The sharpness and contrast are superior.

...but...I kept looking at the 18 to 55 focal length for an all-around lens... the f/2.8 -4 aperture is a little faster than many other-brand kit lenses. This is a solid performer... Feels good to handle.. Images are great. I use this with the x-T1 and keep the setup on auto ISO. There is almost always enough light to get good images.

It is best used in decent light. When the light gets lower I would go with the 56 1.2 or another prime.

The Fujifilm xf 18-55mm is an excellent all purpose lens. This lens covers the range from medium wideangle to short telephoto. With a maximum apeture of f2.8 it is bright, very sharp, and exhibits excellent build quality. I use the lens on my Fufi X Pro 1 and X T1 with outstanding results. The autofocus with this lens is fast and accurate on both cameras, but extremely fast on the X T 1.

I recently picked up an X-E1 along with the 18-55mm. All i can simply say is that this lens competes with the best of them. There is nothing negative to say about this lens, and since i bought a "demo package" X-E1 and 18-55 at a very low price, nothing beats it. It's fast, tack sharp and easy to handle. And it's focal range is perfect for what i do. I do most kinds of photography except for action and sports and this lens is superb!

The 18-55mm f2.8 lens is the and closest lens to the 24-85mm full frame format that can be found for the Fujifilm X Pro1 camera. Size and weight are not a factor and this lens keeps the package to a reasonable size.

A great 'all around' lens. This lens can capture your shot in nearly any situation. Focus action is quick, aperture is adequate, and results are clean. Compares favorably to Leica (Summicrons) I have shot with. Feels smooth, precise.

I am always leary about zooms, but this is a very high quality zoom, optically it is fantastic. The OIS works great adds more utility to a wonderful camera system. I highly recommend this zoom lens.

This seemed like the obvious lens choice for my Fuji X-Pro1 and I was not disappointed. The reviews suggest the optics and machining are Leica/Zeiss-quality, and I believe it. Certainly the best Zoom I have ever owned. Razor-sharp at every focal length and f-stop. It's a bit pricey, but worth it -- I do not feel the need to invest in any of the fixed-focal length Fujinon lenses. This is the only one I need.

THIS IS MY ALL AROUND DAILY USE LENSE. I TRULY ENJOY THE ADDED FLEXIBILITY THAT IT HAS GIVEN ME. WITH THAT SAID, I STILL USE THE FIXED FOCUS LENSES FOR SPECIFIC OCCASIONS WHERE I AM LOOKING FOR THOSE ADDED FINE TOUCH FEATURES.
