Great lens, extremely sharp and quick focusing. Build quality is great as always with Fujifilm lenses and optically has some nice character. This is the perfect everyday lens for me, especially with this focal length

This lens replaced my old 23mm 1.4r that I was using on my XT3. When I bought an XH2 the old lens wasn?t on the ?approved? list to be used with the XH2, but decided to use the old lens on the XH2 to see for myself. When I first tested it out, everything looked pretty good but wasn?t resolving or using the full capabilities of the sensor, in the end it was very acceptable to me. When I swapped out to the new 23mm 1.4 LM, I was amazed on how much sharper it was, focus was certainly faster and I felt the face/eye detection was quick to latch on to an eye and track it very well. I would definitely recommend this lens especially if you?re upgrading to an XT5 or XH2. Cheers!

This is probably my favorite lens ever. It strikes a balance between clarity and character while delivering amazing focus performance and contrast. If you like the full-frame equivalent of 50mm focal length, I couldn't recommend this lens more. Note: I've not used the XF 35mm 1.4, nor have I dabbled in sigma or third party lenses. And I don't feel like I need to. This lens checks all the boxes for me.

I am using this lens with an X-H2S. I have been using the lens for the past few weeks and am very happy with the results. Taking shots of my boys, dogs, and cat I have gotten results that I would expect from a lens of this quality and price. Shooting this alongside the 16-55 I would say that, as expected, it is noticeably sharper. I have used many Fuji lenses and this is definitely up there in regards to quality and results.

What a fantastic little lens. On the X-H2S body, this is an absolute pleasure to shoot with. The only thing that could make it better is if the native aspect ratio of ASP-C were 4:3. It's hard to imagine a more enjoyable focal length.

I have owned the Fujifilm 35mm f2 since very shortly after purchasing my X-T3 and I loved it. I heard the 35mm f1.4 rendered beautiful photos but also heard that it was noisy and stuttery when focusing, so I'd held off on getting it. Instead, I pre-ordered this when it was announced and I have not been disappointed. It is incredibly sharp, even wide open, and the AF is about as fast as can be achieved on Fujifilm's current camera bodies. I expect it to be a solid 50mm equivalent in my kit for years to come.

Superb lens. Probably, one of the best prime lens I have ever used on any camera. Super sharp and fast auto focus. Paired with my XT3 and couldn?t have been happier.

This is a phenomenal lens, as you can read in other reviews here and online. The image quality at 1.4 is excellent, and to my eye it has more character than the 35mm f2. I also really appreciate that it is ever-so-slightly wider than the two 35mm lenses. 50mm has been my preferred fixed focal length for a long time, and they always felt just the slightest bit constrained in a way this lens doesn't. It could be all in my head though. However, the major thing that's worth talking about for anyone who, like me, prefers the optical viewfinder on the X-Pro cameras, is how much more of the viewfinder this lens obscures compared to the XF 35mm 1.4 or the XF 35mm f2. The hood that ships with the lens is ENORMOUS, but even with the smaller metal square hood that fits this and the new 23mm lens, the bottom right quarter of the optical viewfinder is totally obscured. This isn't so bad on an X-Pro2, because, although it defaults to the higher magnification for this lens, you can decrease the magnification and it doesn't obscure as much of the frame you're shooting. However, that doesn't help on the X-Pro3, which has fixed magnification that's slightly higher than the X-Pro2's maximum magnification (by far my least favorite change between the cameras). I still think this lens is worth it, however.

Seems really sharp, easy to use, fine pics. Versus the 35 f2, maybe not that much better for me given the 33?s added weight and price. Mainly got 3 stars because first one Adorama sent was defective-and this, in my experience is all too common with Fuji! Adorama service was great!

Wonderful lens. Arrived in pristine condition. Could not be happier with the quality of this lens. It's my new default lens that I don't project removing from my camera anytime soon. Highly recommend. The images it produces are superb and it's so quiet and fast!

This lens was what I needed to my first Europe trip. Used it mostly for night photos as the 1.4 aperture helps in low light conditions. Tested on a rainy and cold day, it didn?t fog up due to the weather sealing. Autofocus with the XT-4 was on point and didn?t let me down. For video purposes, the AF Motor was silent and didn?t affect any footage.

I had a 23mm f1/4 first gen and decided to upgrade to this lens rather than wait for the mark II version. The image quality is excellent and the linear motors really make it a quiet lens compared to the 23mm. I've only had it for a short time, but I believe this will be one of my most used lenses now.

I have been using the 35mm F2 because I needed a good fast autofocus lens. I have done a lot of research of the new 33mm F1.4 and decided to pull the trigger. Image quality: I was blown away how the 33mm F1.4 handle the images. It?s definitely next generation lens. Fujifilm has said that their new lens can handle up to 40 megapixels. Ergonomics: the lens is bigger than the 35mm F2. However it feels good in the hands and isn?t a compromise in my camera bag. Overall, if you?re thinking about upgrading from your 35 mm F2 to the new 33mm F1.4. I say yes definitely recommend the upgrade.

This lens is fantastic. It's given me... - beautiful bokeh and falloff - great sharpness, contrast, and colors, even wide open - crazy sunstars - super fast autofocus

The lens pairs perfectly with an X-S10. I tried the original 35 f1.4 but returned it because the autofocus would miss most of the time and a majority of my shots had to be deleted. The 33 f1.4 is way faster and more accurate in terms of autofocus and the image quality is excellent. As for the 33 f1.4 vs the 35 f2, if you're investing in a prime anyway you might as well get the widest aperture for the low light capabilities. I am leaning toward this focal length now for my everyday shooting of people, which I used to do with a 23mm. Close up headshots also show zero distortion, unlike a 23mm or wider. I have no plans for getting a zoom and will just use this, the 16 f1.4, and the 56 f1.2. Get one if you can!

This is my initial review of the new 33mm f1.4 R LM WR as the owner of only two primes the 35mm f2 and 50mm f2. Keep in mind this is only after a day of fun and leaves in the back yard. Coming from the 35mm f2, the 33mm is noticeably heavier and bigger, that's obvious but is it too much... no. Size wise it's like a chunkier sibling of the XF 18-55mm kit, a bit wider and heavier, while the height is the same when at 18mm. I would summarize my experience and say the size and weight are fine for a fast prime. I have no worries about using the 33mm all day but I will be keeping the 35mm f2 for when I need to pack light. So the LM focus... I immediately noticed a difference. The 35mm f2 has been fantastic at autofocus and I thought it was very quiet. The 33mm is dead silent and there is no hunting even on fairly poor contrast (single point) focusing while the 35mm f2 seems to be slower and gets lost more often. My only complaint: I find the manual focus extremely fast, it's a bit hard to fine tune, I'm hoping a firmware update could address that. After spending a day with my new 33mm I'm very happy with the in-hand experience and especially the photo results. Over all I'm very pleased and I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with the 33mm. The big question was it worth 2x of the 35mm f2? That is TBD but leaning yes so far.
