Questions & Answers

Barbara E : Does it have a IS?PAVEL U : Barb, no. It's prime lens without IS. PavelARNOLD K : no image stabilization on this lensGERALD F : NoDENIS S : Hi, no.JOHN L : No it does not have IS. I don't believe any Fujinon primes have IS
Martin P : When you say the LCD might be scratched, how could that affect the lens?JENNY W : I took me days to think what the question really means, still don't know exactly. Assuming LCD is the screen on the back of the camera, when the scratch is visible, it has nothing to do with the lens, in terms of focus performance or image quality. This is a beautiful lens, fast response and excellent image quality for the money.DENNIS B : I don't understand the question What does the lens have to do with the LCDFRED B : I do not know the answer PAVEL U : The lens can't affect the scratched LCD. Just try another lens and compare images.
Sahin S : Hello,I would like to buy the Fujifilm XF 60 mm Lens through the internet with the filter promotion. My question is if I buy it from Internet and give my friends name whom will come and collect from your store, can this be done?DENIS S : Hi Sahin, Try better ordering the item for friends' name and address. They should ship the item directly to them (that's how I did couple of times).JEFF B : Sahin, This is question for Adorama customer service.DENNIS B : Adorama has to answer a question that concerns store policy This is not a product questionANDERSON W : I suppose there's a question here, but it's more of an Adorama internal procedures inquiry rather than technical or performance. The lens, by the way, is stunning in every aspect of performance. Those who purchase it – or any of the Fuji lenses – will not be disappointed.

Perfect for travel

While this isn't a perfect lens, it may be a perfect travel lens in a multi-lens rig. It's small, light, has great IQ. While not technically a macro, it does macro more than satisfactory and can be used as a portrait or even a street lens. And it has good reach. True, its auto-focus could be better, but when weighed against its size and versatility, its a minor problem. Perhaps not the lens to use doing one thing all day every day, but a great lens for a traveller doing a lot of different types of photography, especially when its size makes traveling easier.

Good beginner macro lens

Pros: Lightweight. My main reason to choose this over 80mm macro. Good contrast. Build quality. Can double as portrait lens (but don't expect too much) Cons: Slow to focus. The focal length though enough, sometimes I wish was bit more long. No IS. Bit difficult in low light, handheld. Conclusion: For a beginner in macro like me, this is a best lens to start. It's relatively cheap (bought during Fuji summer sale) and gives good results. If I get hooked with macro further, then I may be I will look for a lens with IS and longer focal length.

A Slow Beauty that is Compact and Delivers Sharp Images

I owned this lens before purchasing it again. I traded my original copy to finance the Fuji XF 90mm f/2. I also own the Fuji XF 80mm macro. I had figured that seeing as I had the 80 I had no need for the 60. I was wrong. The 60mm Fuji macro weighs 215 grams (7.58 oz). The 80mm weighs 750 grams (26.4 oz). The 60mm is 2.5 inches long. The 80mm is twice as long at 5.12 inches. The 60mm is slow to focus and hunts in low light. The images are excellent. True, I can't get as close with the 60mm compared to the 80mm. But the 60mm will fit in a 5L bag attached to an X-H1 or X-T3 anfd I still have room for two smaller primes. The 80mm in the same bag must be unattached in order to carry one additional prime. Both of these are great. I find myself carrying the 60 more often because of the size and weight benefits. As one blogger sort of put it, "it's great optics that are trapped in a lens barrel with older slower focusing technology". It lends itself to slower more contemplative image taking and rewards your patience with stellar images. It's back in my lens collection for good.

Great portrait lens

I have read many negative comments about slow autofocus and compared to more modern lenses this is true. Another comment is that the lens is not really 1:1 macro - also true. However, the lens is a great combination lens for those that cannot buy dedicated portrait (e.g. 56 mm f/1.2) and macro lens. Very sharp edge to edge and works well as portrait lens as well as close focusing lens! Recommended!

Almost a good lens.

As others have stated, this is slow, sometimes Painfully Slow to focus. Also susceptible to Hunting - and Not Finding focus - at other times. So it can be frustrating, for sure. Not sure the optical quality and macro functions are worth the trouble. Probably better off with a good 50mm, which are faster.Write your review here. It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Excellent lens

I use this lens more for portraiture than macro. The build quality is fantastic, even the lens hood is metal. The magnification isn't the greatest but quite adequate. Manual focus is slow, but I would prefer this for macro work. The aperture ring it actually labeled and the detents are tight. There were older reviews complaining of focus speed. Make sure and update the firmware and this is fixed.

Autofocus way too slow

I wanted to use this in a similar fashion that i use my Tamron 90mm macro with my Nikon d90 slr. I love doing field nature photgraphy with my macro- flowers, spiders, insects, etc- and this lens is very difficult to use. The slightest movement by the photographer or the subject and the sense starts the autofocus process- all the way through the entire focal rang- until it locks on again. Then with a mother beat of a heart or the slightest breeze on a flower and the agonizingly slow focusing process starts again. To say this lens is slow to autofocus is true- it is glacially slow; but the constant in and back out refocusing is what makes the lens useless for handheld nature photography out in the field. i'l have to stick with my Tamron 90mm or my Sigma 150mm macros. With the x-E2 I find that the 55-200 lens actually turns out better macro in actual field use. It is frustrating to use for candid portrait work at events for the same reason.

Light Weight & Fantastic Macro

I use this lens for both close up images and macro shots. It is very light weight, easy to use, a little slow on focusing, but great on IQ.

Great Value for Current Pricing

For the current price, this is a good lens. It's well made and does the job for most of my close up work, although not technically a Marco lens, I believe. I am using it on my X-Pro1 for outside situations. Mostly still work, so I can't attest to its performance picking up a focus on a moving target, etc.

Better Now After Firmware Update

With the lens and my Fuji-X camera both updated with the latest firmware, the lens focuses much faster and more accurately for me. It is not the fastest focusing lens in the X line up but it now works just fine for my uses. The bokeh is nice and pleasing to the eye. While focusing the lens makes a little more noise than some of the other X lenses but it is not obnoxiously loud. Some of my high-end Nikon lenses make more noise. The macro is decent. Sharp lens. Small and light. I can carry it in my coat pocket and not know it is there. Before the firmware update I was looking for another solution for a portrait lens. So I am no longer tempted to buy the 56mm 1.2 right now for portraits. Maybe next year! ;)

Good, but not great.

I would really love to do more macro photography with my Fuji XE2 camera; unfortunately, this may not be the lens for it. It hunts quite a bit in even moderately low light; better for manual focussing. Image quality is very good, though magnification for macro is only 0.5. Bokeh is excellent, images are sharp to edges, and color is bright. A lovely portrait lens, just not quite the horsepower I was looking for as a macro lens. I would love a longer focal length, faster lens with 1:1 macro ability. Build quality is excellent, and manual focus is very nice to use - grip is wide and ridged for slow, precise turning.

Should Have Bought This Lens First!

Portraits excellent with beautiful Bokeh. Pictures are tack-sharp, even at 1200 ISO ! I have the 14 mm, and the 55-200 zoom. This is now the lens I use the most. The Macro setting at 90 mm allows you to do close-ups without your own shadow covering the shot. I love it !

Good portrait lens

Great pictures, bokeh, and build quality. Feels very solid. Others have complained about its slow focus speed, but I haven't really noticed unless the lighting is pretty low (like iso 3200 low)

FUJI X-F 60MM (90 MM) F2.4 LENS

Want to do your Fujifilm X-series camera justice? Then opt for the FUJI X-F 60MM (90 MM) F2.4 LENS, a bright-apertured, versatile lens capable of producing soft backgrounds, crisp foregrounds, and enough effects to keep you busy whether you prefer portraits and landscapes or live events. Here at Adorama, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better lens for a number of reasons:

Product Highlights

  • The short telephoto 90mm (equivalent in 35mm) macro lens focuses to 11”, giving you a wide range of focusing power that will allow you to adjust your settings on the fly. This aids in providing you with that soft, background-blur effect that elevates casual photography into something else entirely. This may be one reason why Fuji X-F 60mm for portraits is so highly regarded.
  • A bright aperture of F/2.4 maximum gives the artisan and artist in you the capacity to use the FUJI X-F F2.4 lens in low-light work, which includes everything from sporting events and outdoor concerts to indoor receptions.
  • Lightweight and durable, this lens includes Super EBC coating to improve the optics without losing integrity over time, which gives you plenty of freedom to keep on using the FUJI X-F F2.4 lens more and more.

Match a great camera series to a great lens: opt for this Fuji F.24 lens to give your X-series camera the “eye” it needs.

Learn about the FUJI X-F 60MM (90 MM) F2.4 LENS

The Fujifilm X series of interchangeable lens cameras is a beautiful series—but without the quality lens to go along with it, you’re only taking pictures. With the FUJI X-F 60MM (90 MM) F2.4 LENS, you’re elevating photography to art, thanks to a wide variety of creative and technical features that allow for improved optical performance and plenty of professional craftsmanship. The X-series is a durable, highly capable series, and the FUJI X-F F2.4 lens is exactly what it needs.

  • A mirrorless design in the X-series means plain, simple, high-quality optics. This FUJI X-F F2.4 lens features a rear element as close as possible to the sensor, which means that there will be a minimum distortion of the back focus distance. That provides for consistent, quality pictures that don’t produce strange effects that leave you consulting online search engines for answers. For consistency with the X-series, make sure you get a lens like this here at Adorama, featuring that closely-built rear element design.
  • Serious focusing power is essential for any lens—not only for versatility, but for powerful focusing effects. This short telephoto 90mm capability (equivalent to a 35mm format) macro lens can focus to 11”, giving you a range of options for shot selection. You can attend live events and know that you can customize your focus to suit the shot opportunities, giving you plenty of range for dealing with all sorts of choice photo opportunities as they arise. With the magnification of 0.5x, you’ll have plenty of range to let out your inner artist.
  • Raw aperture is important in any lens. Just ask anyone who’s ever tried looking through a telescope. Here it matters because the bright F/2.4 maximum aperture allows for low-light work, stunning portraits, and out-of-focus backgrounds that give your subject a pleasing, crisp effect. The FUJI X-F F2.4 lens is capable of grabbing plenty of light even in those low-light situations so that you can create stunning, professional quality shots without having to rely on flash. What’s more, the aperture ring has a 1/3-stop click stops to enhance your exposures’ precision.
  • The Super EBC coating is essential as well, giving you the durability and consistency you need out of a lens, especially the FUJI X-F F2.4 lens—which, if you play your cards right, you can use as often as you use the camera itself. The center-to-edge resolution will free you from the chromatic aberrations you might be used to in lesser lenses, which gives you plenty of room to take the shots you’ve always wanted to take.
  • This lens package sold at Adorama includes the lens hood, front/rear lens caps, a Fujifilm warranty—providing you with just about everything you need to make the FUJI X-F F2.4 lens last a long time in your arsenal of photography tools.

Ideal for Macro photography, portraits, but suitable for low-lighting live events, the FUJI X-F 60MM (90 MM) F2.4 LENS offers plenty of precision and consistency for a wide range of photography opportunities. And because it’s lightweight and easy to use, you may just find that it becomes your go-to lens.

This lens is not only perfect for capturing the minute details of close-up subjects but also excels in portraiture, providing a flattering perspective and the ability to isolate your subject with a shallow depth of field.

Crafted with precision, the XF 60mm f/2.4 boasts a fast and bright maximum aperture of f/2.4, enabling photographers to shoot in a variety of lighting conditions while achieving beautiful bokeh effects thanks to its 9-blade aperture design. The bokeh quality enhances the visual appeal of portraits and macro shots by smoothly blurring the background and drawing attention to the sharp, in-focus areas.

The lens is engineered with a high-quality metal barrel and features Fujifilm's Super EBC (Electron Beam Coating) to reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring crisp, clear images with high fidelity. Its optical construction is designed to deliver exceptional center-to-edge resolution and eliminate chromatic aberrations, resulting in images with stunning clarity and color accuracy.

With a maximum magnification of 0.5x, the XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro Lens allows photographers to get up close to their subjects, capturing intricate details that are often missed by the naked eye. The precision-machined aperture ring, with 1/3-stop click stops, provides tactile control over exposure settings, allowing for quick and precise adjustments while shooting.

While the autofocus performance is noted for being methodical, this characteristic can be advantageous for macro photography, where fine manual focus adjustments are often preferred. For those seeking faster autofocus for other types of photography, firmware updates have been known to enhance the focusing speed, making the lens more versatile across different shooting scenarios.

The compact and lightweight design of the XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro Lens makes it an ideal travel companion, easily fitting into smaller camera bags without adding significant bulk or weight. This makes it a reliable choice for photographers who value both high image quality and portability.

Whether you're a macro enthusiast, portrait photographer, or simply seeking a high-quality, versatile lens for your Fujifilm X-series camera, the XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro Lens is a superb addition to your photographic toolkit, offering both the innovative technology and reliable performance that Fujifilm lenses are known for.
