Ever ready cases are no longer a typical accessory, but this one works really well. Note, however: - the strap grommets are a real pain to install. - the case cannot be completely closed with the lens on the lens. - also cannot be completely closed with typical 3rd party accessories, such as a soft touch release and/or thumb rest. - strap could be longer in order to wrap it over the opposite shoulder. - unlike some other available half cases, their is no tripod socket on the bottom. This case cannot be used with a Black Rapid strap.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted...to protect my new street camera...AND to do so in a retro cool way, befitting the x100s. Don't settle for any other. The only hassle is that in order to upload photos or change out the battery, the case must be removed, and then put back on. However, that only takes a minute..and realistically, a flap to open on the side in the case to make it possible to do that without removal, would look tacky.

This case is beautiful and keeps my X100S completely encased so it doesn't get banged up. It just barely closes with the ring it comes with off and a UV filter installed. The top half can be quickly removed and reattached with snaps, and closes with a magnet. There are small flaps to get at the battery/memory card compartment, and all controls are accessible with the top half opened. The included strap has anti-slip material that doesn't snag and has a pretty good range of adjust-ability. It would be nice if it facilitated carrying an extra battery, as the X100S goes through batteries rather quickly, but I throw the whole works in a small case if I think I'm going to be taking a lot of pictures.

This case is very well designed. The front can be completely removed. There is an opening at the bottom for easy access to the battery and SD card. The strap is very comfortable. The only drawback is that it is difficult to adjust the aperture ring with the case on the camera. a wider opening in the front might address this problem.
