I have taken only about 100 images with the camera. Before I bought the camera, I read some negative assessments of the ease of use, but all seemed thrilled with the image quality. While I will admit that there is a learning curve that is longer than usual, the use of the camera is easily mastered and the often criticised ergonomics are just fine, but different. The image quality is superb and that is what you have a camera like this for. It is a tripod camera, not a sports camera. Best for scenic, macro and studio photography, but can be hand held. Excellent purchase all in all.

Yes it's that good. If you sorted by price just to see what was out there, know you get what you pay for in this kit. If you landed here as a result of culling filters - stop - add to cart, click on checkout. The thing that blew my mind is the IBIS with electronic first curtain! You can hand hold for nature pictures at 1/6s! At 102MP no less... I settled on this kit because I wanted wide angle capabilities in my MF system. Coming from Pentax 645z I've always had to carry two bodies - a FF with ultra wide angle and the Pentax. Neither are lite weight. With the Laowa 17mm zero D this solves my problem. IMO get this with the Laowa, the 45-100mm and the 100-200mm lenses. You can get creative later with additional via the Fujifilm eco-system or hundreds of adapted lenses. I've gotten the TS adapter for my 35mm Pentax and for longer reaches I've adapted my Canon EF glass - the 60-600mm from Sigma covers about 75% of the focal plane so with the crop you've got a 600mm reach with about 75 MP. Excellent!!! I've shot two weddings with this kit so far and am very happy with the speed and AF performance. The swivel adapter for the EVF is an essential part of the kit. The only drawback I can think of aside from cost of ownership is the lack of modern accessories. I'd have liked a full cage but none exist that support the viewfinder swivel accessory. Conclusion: If you've got this kind of budget you're going to be pleased with the system.

While the camera is rather weighty, it fits the hand like a glove, and my fingers are aligned with the buttons to the extent that muscle language gets me to the correct one every time. AF and all other functions are quick and, of course, the images are nothing short of spectacular.

Loving the GFX100
By DARIN L.
Love it! Creating beautiful images. Wish Fuji would create a larger selection of lenses, but can’t go wrong with the GFX100!
Shoot with uncompromising quality with the new Fujifilm GFX 100 medium format mirrorless camera. The GFX 100 features a 102MP resolution and abroad ISO 100 to 12800 sensitivity range, which can be extended up to ISO 50 to 102400. It’s equipped with sensor-shift image stabilization—a first for mirrorless medium formats. The stabilization system compensates for up to 5.5 stops of camera shakes and works any lens, including non-optically stabilized FUJINON lenses, for added flexibility. This allows you to work with slower shutter speeds and under challenging light conditions. The GFX 100 has a lightweight and durable magnesium alloy body that is weather sealed, which means it can be used in inclement weather conditions. The body has a built-in vertical grip that can house two additional batteries for both improved ergonomics and longer shooting sessions when in use. Redefine your creativity and shoot high-quality images and large format videos with the Fujifilm GFX 100.
I have worked with a variety of medium format cameras since early in my career, way back in the film days (the 1990s). I have always loved the look and feel of medium format images — and also how you work with a larger format camera. And Fujifilm has reinvented medium format photography with this camera, the GFX 100....
LEARN MORE
GFX 100 combines decades of experience, knowledge, and research into a mirrorless large format camera that redefines the boundaries and limitations of how photographers and filmmakers creatively express themselves. By raising the bar in large format auto-focus performance, being one of the first large format systems to have in-body stabilization, and providing filmmakers with a way to push the limits of wide format 4K/30p motion capture, GFX 100 is not only reshaping how images are being made, but it is also redefining large format for the world's next generation of image makers.
The FUJIFILM GFX 100 pairs a newly-developed back-illuminated 102MP imaging sensorwith our blazingly fast X Processor 4 processing engine to create a combination capable of outputting 16-bit imageswith amazing color fidelity, rich shadow detail, and incredible dynamic range. Its back-illuminated structure enhancesimage quality by bringing the exposure plane closer to the color filter array. This reduces noise levels from thattypically experienced with mirrorless cameras and extends the native ISO to ISO 100. Sharpness is also enhanced, while moire and false colors are near eliminated through the omission of an optical low-pass filter.
High-Resolution Image Sensors require a particularly high level of stability to ensure image clarity and sharpness. Small vibrations can often cause interruptions during the capture process and may even lead to soft and out of focus images despite the use of a tripod. GFX 100 addresses these critical issuesby providing filmmakers and photographers with built-in 5-axis image stabilization. A dedicated dual processor workstogether with gyroscopic accelerometers to achieve sensor stability with speed and precision to provide up to five-stops of image stabilization, even if the camera is fitted with a non-optically stabilized FUJINON lens. Precise large format capture is now feasible in low-light conditions or when shooting hand-held.
Compared to traditional large format digital systems, GFX 100 raises the bar in auto-focus performance by utilizing AF phase detection pixels across most of the sensor to helpphotographers obtain focus wherever they choose to position their subjects in the frame. At approximately 100% coverage, increased auto-focus performance with speed and accuracy is now a complete reality for photographersneeding optimum performance in subject tracking, face/ eye detection and low-contrast environments.
While digital cinema has pushed into the world of larger format (35mm x 24mm), limited options still exist for creatives interested in big sensors. With a sensor size of 43.9mm x32.9mm, GFX 100 offers filmmakers a viable alternative in achieving their creative visions. The new sensor and processor combination support 4K video recording at 30p/10bit with a uniquely cinematic, large format look forcinematographers who want exceptional control over depth of field and film-like tonality. With the ability to apply Fujifilm's highly respected Film Simulations, record in F-Log Rec 2020, and capture 10-bit, 4:2:2 uncompressed footage through the HDMI port, GFX 100 should certainly be coming soon to a screen near you.
FUJIFILM's legacy in color science has helped create one of the most widely-acclaimed digital color processing engines in the world. Benefiting from 85 years of research and development incolor imaging, the GFX 100 utilizes this same venerated color processing engine found in other X Series and GFXdigital cameras. Offering 16 Film Simulation modes gives photographers and filmmakers a way to match their artisticintent much like they do when choosing purpose-specific photographic emulsions. This not only builds upon Fujifilm's heritage and color science know-how, but also exposes a new generation to the aesthetic benefits of Fujifilm's contributions to the photographic arts.
Tethered capture is a necessity for many professional large format camera users and the GFX 100 works with Capture One software to help photographers create, manage, and maintain a streamlined workflow from capture through to delivery. With Capture One, raw Fujifilm images can be processed quickly with the option to apply Fujifilm's unique Film Simulations during fileconversion for even greater artistic possibilities
