A few years ago I left the DSLRs behind and switched to the Fujifilm X series. The handling of the bodies and those beautiful colors straight out of the camera absolutely made me a disciple of the brand. When the GFX line came out I got curious, but it took me a while to take the plunge. I?ve had my GFX 50R for just about a month, and while I?ve had full-frame DSLRs before, they do not compare to the medium format experience. Make no mistake, this is not a camera for fast action shots, this is a camera that you need to take your time with, slow down, think about your shot, breathe, press the shutter down and relish in that big, incredible shutter sound. The detail is incredible, the beautiful Fujifilm colors are here, and pared with the film simulations you have gorgeous JPEGs right off the bat. Huge RAW files, and OMG, what a camera. If you?re on the fence, get off the fence right now and buy one. Downside? Weight, it?s heavy, the glass is heavy, so be prepared.

A really good camera though not small enough to carry around comfortably everywhere like an x100v. The large sensor gobbles up amazing detail with a lot of latitude from dark to light areas of your frame. Be prepared for large files. Lenses are not cheap either so grab them when on sale. The 50mm 3.5 is a must have.

Although the body style was my least favorite of the GFX line, it?s still an amazing camera.

Great Camera. Great deal. I am completely satisfied and look forward to enjoying the unparalleled image quality that other camera systems can not compete with.

Having used this camera since it hit the market, it?s quickly become a favorite. I love everything about it except the 3fps. If only the speed was there, this camera would be perfection.

As a long time Fuji user it felt very comfortable. Had to retrain the way I compose and I think this is for a experienced photographer with an alternate system ideally. Also must mention "Moment" provided a great shopping experience. Great support and customer relations.

I've been shooting medium format for 4 decades. Hasselblad's during the film days. With digital MEDIUM format cameras most people can't afford to spend $25,000 and up; to buy and justify the cost. There are several camera's in the 35mm range now that might reach 50mp's. But what I see with this special Fuji camera is not the amount of megapixels, but the incredibly rich color saturation. Inside the camera are settings to create film like photographs, such as Velvia. This Fuji 50R is about the same weight or even lighter than a Nikon D850 and easy to handle. No, I am not bashing Nikon at all. The 850 is a fantastic camera, however with the Fuji 50R we, photographers, can slow down a bit and create magical images. Well now we can afford a medium format camera. This was on sale for $3500. Not too much higher than Canon and Nikon's very best cameras. Also the Fuji medium format lenses are as good or better compared to the amazing old Hasselblad lenses.

Been a photographer for a long time. Shot medium format film. I didn't realize how much I missed it. It's like finding a long lost friend. I love this camera. I rented the 50s first and didn't like the bulbous butt on the rear of the body. I flew to go see the Hasselblad X1D II. The auto-focus sucks on that body. This is the only way to go for affordable tack sharp lenses for a price point lower than some full-frame cameras. This beauty will not disappoint.

Have looked at the Fujifilm X series for years but always wanted a larger size sensor. Decided to go with the GFX 50R and 63mm lens. I have been really happy with the camera / lens combo. I would highly recommend to anyone who loved shooting film. It feels very natural to control the settings by a external dial than a digital menu. Thank You!

Honestly, i was so skeptical about purchasing this camera due to review after review stating that the sensor is old technology now, and that the autofocus is slow etc..but seriously this is one of the most satisfied purchases I’ve made in a long time. I am coming from a Fujifilm X-T3 and the difference in photo quality / detail is astounding. This is definitely a camera to purchase if you’re a photographer wanting to make high quality prints or even one who loves to pixel peep. It’s great.

I've got XE 1s and X Pro1s all with very similar controls and much lighter. As a former Pro with Pentax 6X7s and 645 with a well equipped color dark room I shot bigger film for better results. The GF X handles well despite the comfortable balk along with bigger glass but, the results are well worth the grunt effort. When quality matters ya' shoot bigger if available. That's my five ponds worth of wisdom. And plus it's built like a brick s**t house. Enjoy!

Produces excellent photos - Slow to work with - Grips is too small. Image file size is fine - No need for larger unless you are doing 8' prints. Fuji apparently does not have much contact with their dealers - no delivery times on back orders etc.

The Fujifilm GFX 50R is the best camera I've. ever owned. Stellar build and stunning image quality using the 45mm, 63mm, and 110mm lenses, so far, anyway. The camera lens combination renders all subjects: sharper, more saturated, and with truer texture than I'd ever thought possible on the digital medium. I'm very pleased with the investment.

Absolutely beautiful camera/lens combo. Love it and Adorama shipped it faster than expected. For those giving it less then 5 starts for speed, this is a camera that is meant to use with purpose, slow you down. Best suited for studio and portraits.

This is my second GFX Fuji camera which I bought to travel with. Just got back from a trip to New Orleans where it performed flawlessly. It is much lighter and is smaller and makes transporting it easy. I own several Fuji lenses and am quite pleased with this system. The IQ is exceptional!

I love it! Low noise at higher ISO and incredible dynamic range compared with my 6D. Size is very similar to the Canon. Slow AF in low light is my only gripe when shooting candids or action and limited burst could be an issue though I don't expect much in MF and haven't even tried. I've had great results with the Fujinon 45 but also make use of my collection of Carl Zeiss Pentacon 6 and Canon L-series lenses with Fotodiox and Kipon adapters, respectively. My primary uses for my GFX 50R will likely be portrait and landscape.

I’ve been ahooting this camera for the last month. If you jknow what it ia for (slow, methodical shooting, incredible IQ and even more post processing freedom), this camera will just become a natural extension of your arm. I have never felt this happy to go out and shoot. In fact this camera pushes out to shoot. Paired with the 45mm, it is a compelling piece of gear.

This is an awesome image generator. I sjould have moved to medium format a long time ago. The images are amazing. Must rededicate yourself to tech issues to get the max out of it. Depth of. Field is very important.

FUJIFILM GFX 50R
Featuring a large 51.4MP G Format CMOS image sensor and X-Processor Pro image processing engine, the GFX 50R delivers superior image quality in a compact and lightweight body reminiscent of their renowned medium format film cameras widely used in street and documentary photography. The GFX 50R is equipped with a 0.77x3.69M-dot organic "OLED" electronic viewfinder for accurate focusing and framing images. Weighing approximately 145g less than the GFX 50S, this camera offers intuitive handling in a rugged, weather-sealed body to meet the varying needs of photographers.
Equipped with 51.4MP Medium Format CMOS Sensor and X-Processor Pro
The GFX 50R features the FUJIFILM G Format 43.8 x 32.9mm sensor with a 51.4MP resolution and high-performance X-Processor Pro image processing engine to provide outstanding color and tone reproduction. Supporting FUJIFILM renowned Film Simulation modes, the camera allows photographers to opt for the tonality of photographic films such as Velvia, PROVIA and ACROS, used for many years in medium format film cameras by professional and enthusiast photographers alike. The micro lenses on the sensor in the new GFX 50R have been designed to optimize light gathering performance and image resolution to deliver images that precisely reproduce the subject's texture, three-dimensional feel and even the atmosphere of each scene.
Intuitive Handling and Rugged Body to Meet Photographer Needs
Featuring a robust magnesium alloy body, the GFX 50R is weather-sealed in 64 places, designed to be weather- and dust-resistant, and capable of operating in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit -10 degrees Celsius. The GFX 50R is also built for intuitive operation. Equipped with a Focus Lever to allow quick focal point adjustment, the GFX 50R eliminates selector buttons to provide extra space for comfortably holding the camera. The top of the body sports two dials - for shutter speed and exposure compensation - constructed of milled aluminum to give the camera professional durability and feel.
Compact and Lightweight Rangefinder-Style Medium Format Mirrorless Digital Camera
The GFX 50R camera weighs 775g with built-in EVF, approximately 145g lighter than the GFX 50S, and the body is just 66.4mm thick, 25.0mm thinner than the GFX 50S. The rangefinder style design allows photographers to keep one eye on the subject while looking through the viewfinder with the other eye, enabling users to check the scene around the subject matter to ensure optimal capture.
First Bluetooth Compatible Camera in the GFX System for Enhanced Connectivity
Providing photographers with enhanced connectivity, the GFX 50R is the first model in the GFX system to feature Bluetooth low energy wireless communication. This feature offers the ability to pair the camera with a smartphone or tablet for easy transfer of pictures via the free FUJIFILM Camera Remote application.
Extensive Lineup of Lenses and Compatibility with Capture One and Additional Software
Currently, the GFX system offers a lineup of seven FUJINON GF Lenses for G Mount, covering focal lengths from 23mm (equivalent to 18mm in the 35mm film format) to 250mm (equivalent to 198mm in the 35mm film format). All GF lenses are capable of resolving up to 100MP, and are designed to be dust- and weather- resistant, built to withstand temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit -10 degrees Celsius allowing photographers to take them outdoors with confidence in challenging weather conditions.
To enhance operability for professional photographers, the GFX system is compatible with a variety of software, including "Capture One Pro (FUJIFILM)," announced at Photokina, to provide added options in commercial and fashion photography studio sessions. In addition, the GFX system supports tethering software "HS-V5 for Windows" and "Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO for Adobe Photoshop," to enable professional photographers to incorporate the GFX system into their regular workflow.
