These smaller batteries can on do so much for your camera. I reccomend
severals if that's your only camera.
Note: ebay purchasing of batteries is not a good idea. too many counterfit batteries here in the states & elsewhere.
If the battery, while charging, gets very hot, too HOT to hold, then maybe the production of the batter had problems and return it.
Regards....DON R : My experience is limited, but perhaps a few comments will help. I have a FP Z-950 with a large screen on the back but no viewfinder. The full display must be on when using. The display is a large drain on the battery but setting the timeout to a short period is an option. The camera has no mechanical controls, so the touch-sensitive display must be used for everything other than snapping the pics. If you spend a lot of time viewing pics on the display versus downloading them to a computer, this will also shorten battery life.
The battery is not large. The good news is that it doesn't take long to charge so having an extra will get you through most situations. The bad news is that you may have two or more batteries. Except for all day shooting sessions, two batteries should do fine, otherwise, you could consider a car charger.
The battery is not well keyed so you can insert it improperly. This is not a problem when you can see markings clearly, but in low light is problematic.

Finally found the right battery!!!
I have looked at several retail stores without being able to find the battery my camera needed. The original battery does not hold a charge very long. Now, I can take more photos because I can now change the batteries when one gets low. Adorama had the battery I needed and with a cost that was very reasonable. It was shipped within a couple days of ordering the battery. A tracking number provided let me track my shipment easily. Unfortunately, my shipment was lost. When told of my problem, Adorama did a trace along with UPS. When they were unable to find the package, another battery was shipped out. Within a week I had the second battery. Great customer service!!!!!!
