Fuji-film and I have an odd relationship. I think I have to own it for year before I learn to really appreciate it. In the first month of owning it, I'd have given it a 2. Now it's a 5. This is one extremely well built camera. JPG pics are great right out of the camera. This will be your first choice of a camera to daily carry around with you.

As with all Fuji X cameras, this X-E2s is a very capable performer that produces clear, clean, sharp images and the current price (05/01/18) is really hard to beat. If you like this rangefinder form factor, this body can serve you well. I actually moved on quickly to the X-T1 as it is just more agile and responsive and even without the added hand grip it feels so much more secure in the hand and the EVF is noticeably superior as well as the layout of the controls are just more intuitive for me.

Bought this as 2nd X-E2s body. Side by side (see attached photo) there is a yellow tint on the lcd. I have upgraded the firmware and reset unit and same issue. Sad having to send it back. I've an X-E2s, X-T1 and X-M1 and none experience this issue. Fujfilm know about this issue on the X-T2 and its not been fixed. Hoping the replacement is ok.

I have X-T10, X-A2 and X-T2 which are really great cameras but I always wanted to have a rangefinder type so I patently waited for X-E3 to come up and when it came I was unsatisfied with it's interface and when I saw the diminished price for this camera I couldn't resist and purchased it. Guess what? Now, I plan to sell my X-T10 and X-A2 and use my newly acquired camera as a back up to my X-T2. Honestly, I liked it so much that I started to use it more often than even X-T2.. Actually, I use my X-T2 mostly for sports and wildlife, sometimes for portraits, for the rest of tasks it's X-E2S.

Use this as a back up walk around camera. Coupled with the sharp 23 mim F2. it's perfect. I love the manual focusing assist modes. Highly recommend..

Light weight made in japan. The perfect solution for manual shooters. There are some quirks but at this price a steal.

I had this camera briefly before returning it (Thanks to Adorama for its very supportive return policy). While the price being asked for this now superseded XE-2S was enticing, I decided the newer options from Fuji like the X-T20 or XE3 really offer a lot more to justify their higher prices. The addition of the joy stick to move your focus point (on the XE3) and the tilting touch screen (on the XT20) really improve the picture taking experience. Plus, the Acros B&W mode is shockingly nice! I've rented the X100F for a week and had a blast with it, but found the fixed lens a bit constraining. There's a Fuji in my future, i just have to decide which of the newer models it will be.

An unbelievable value—I bought it for the two brand new XF lenses basically getting the X-E2S body and grip for free! This is the least cost way to get into the Fuji X line with brand new equipment.

All I can say is WOW. I was a Canon fan switched to Pentax still am a Pentax fan. Sold my K3 to get the X series with 18-55. It produces one of the best images I have seen straight from the camera and that's just JPG...I haven't even tried RAW. I'm a Fuji Fan!

Great camera, perfect size for travel, superb image clarity. I like the viewfinder and lcd screen resolution. A lot of people complain about the lack of tilting in the lcd but that's something I can live without, after all, film rangefinders didn't have them! The lens is constructed very well and the lack of distortion is mind boggling! P.S. I did sell my Nikon gear.

I'm a complete amateur. After years of cheap point-and-shoot cameras, this is my first "real" camera. It takes a little getting used to, but once you figure out a few things, this is a fun camera. My friend has the X-E3 with the XF 23mm 1.4 lens. Him and I did a trip where we compared shots. With the exception of the video, the X-E2S with the 18-55mm OIS kit lens takes pictures that are just as nice. IMHO, the video on the X-E2S is garbage, but I didn't buy this camera to take video. So, I'm really satisfied. I feel like this camera makes me look like a better photographer than I really am. Unless you are a pro, I'd definitely recommend this camera.

As a photog for over 30yrs, I tend to buy equipment with the concept of "right tool for the job." I have different cameras and lenses for studio, street, location, etc. I researched this camera for a couple of years, as is my habit. And, for me, this is the perfect camera for street and location work. Small, light and with a series of high quality lenses, the Fuji package is hard to beat. Great high ISO IQ and sensor resolution. Great form factor IMO. And, fits my job/performance niche perfectly.

I bought a Fuji X-E1 and X-Pro1 when they came out, bought several lenses, then sold it all on a whim. That was a mistake. So, I'm getting back into Fuji and recently bought the X-E2S. It is a much better camera than the X-E1 was and is one I'm likely to keep. I love the feel, handling, color, and IQ. It's small enough to be easy to carry a complete kit around (I use the 18-55, 10-24, 55-200 and 35mm) and it's all well made. Autofocus is much improved and the screen and viewfinder appear to be sharper to my eye. The cost of the camera is very good considering what you get, and the Fuji X system covers all the bases as your needs change. Having owned a full frame Canon, a Leica X-Vario, and an Olympus E-M1 recently, this is my favorite.

I am using the monochrome setting with green filter for portraits. Dynamic range 100, sharpness -1 and noise reduction +1. I am using indoors with low light and a 50mm 1.4 manual lens. Very easy to use this combo and great fun practicing with the manual lens. Focus peaking is my preferred aid. Very fun system to use and the JPEGS are ready immediately.

As a fan of Fujifilm mirrorless cameras I have an X-100t and an X-Pro1. I really liked the X-E2s light weight and smaller size, but I found not having the hybrid finder to be a big drawback and returned the camera.

I have a 7D with all the bells and whistles but its very bulky and I needed a smaller camera for long vacations. It took me about a day to become comfortable with the physical size of the camera and I am still learning how to use all the features. The picture quality is what is most amazing. After taking some initial pictures it was amazed how sharp they were. I did a quick test to compare my 7D to the XE2S by taking the same pictures. I set the 7D on a tripod and used my remote to take the shot and compared it to a free-hand shot with the XE2S. There was no comparison in the detail when zooming in on pictures taken with the XE2S. I tried a number of different Cannon Lenses, each cost me in excess of $1000, and none could produce the same results.

This camera for me has the perfect size, ergonomics and superb image quality. AF system is very fast, color reproduction is fantastic, this camera combined with the 35mm f2 make it great for street.

It has to be one of the best mirrorless cameras available. For serious photographers only though. Too much capability for casual photographers.

For context, I'm a serious hobbyist who bought a X100T about a year ago, never really put it down, and finally decided to switch from Nikon to Fuji X altogether. I recently bought this cheaper body instead of the X-Pro2 so that I could invest in more glass, knowing that the X-E2s has an old sensor. I first bought the X-T10 and returned it because it just felt too small in my hands and I like the upper-left placement of the viewfinder WAY better on the X-E2s (I'm left-eye dominant). With the Fuji grip purchased as a separate accessory, I think the ergonomics are about perfect. Why I love this camera: the IQ is wonderful and I find that Fuji images need less work in post. The controls, menus and customization options are simple, intuitive and easy to use. The size, build quality and general look and feel of this camera are all great - this may sound trivial but it's a real reason for considering Fuji in general. Fuji X lenses are exceptional, especially for the price and especially if you prefer primes. The Classic Chrome preset. The price is right. Things to consider: don't buy a Fuji camera if you are a serious sports or wildlife shooter, if you're a pixel peeper or spec nerd, or if you care about video. AF is good, not blazing. Continuous AF is dicey. I find the flash on this camera isn't really usable and struggles with basic fill flash. When I'm shooting in bright sunlight (I live in LA), the EVF can be tricky. No weather sealing. If you want to switch to Fuji without spending a lot of money and like the look / feel of rangefinder cameras, buy this camera.
