I will have to come back to revisit this review, but my first impressions are "fantastic". The camera has a great feel, even though much bigger than my X-T30. It's actually not that much bigger than my X-T1, and a bit smaller than my old D7100 (and a bit lighter too). But what it lacks in compactness, it gains in marvelous ISIS, a wonderful, quite shutter, and a great grip. I haven't taken many photos besides tests with it yet, but it seems to do very well. Will revisit this later. Happy as can be, especially with the great price on it! And the lens is an old favorite of mine, but I had broken mine, so needed a new one.

I upgraded to the XH1 from the XT2. I’ve been taking on a lot more video jobs, so the in-body stabilization and higher resolution/bit-rate recording on the XH1 was just the upgrade I needed. I have little but good things to say about Fujifilm. Been really enjoying their super high-quality and affordable systems. One thing to note, if you are used to the XT series, the shutter button on the XH1 is not very clicky. It was hard to tell at first when I had actually pressed the shutter all the way down. It also takes up more space with the bigger grip, so be aware of how that may affect your camera bag configuration.

While I've also got an XT-2 and X Pro2 the prospect of in body stabilization regardless the lens was too much to disregard and the sale price which included the Fujifilm grip with a full load of (3) Fujifilm batteries was stronger than my most energetic resistance could hope to surmount - so I bought. Glad I did. The body is all it's advertised to be and further descriptions by me would only be redundancies. Suffice it to say that I agree with any and all positive commentary. I don't look for perfection; I look for tools. This one is a good addition.

Its september 2019. Yes there are newer and more advanced technologies and cameras out already, including Fuji themselves. However the X-H1 is a unique machine a true class of its own. It's hard to explain you need to hold it, touch it, shoot with it to understand what I am trying to relay to you. But simply put it's delightful to use!!! The quality of the images and video it produces is absolutely beautiful! The ergonomics are on par with the class leading flagships and most of all its a joy to work with! Specs and real feel are a completely different thing. Cant give it high enough recommendation! Its amazing just get it and have fun !

I wanna start this off my saying it’s a cinematographers dream the F stops ISO SHUTTER SPEED all have dials & buttons right above the EVF which is really clean by the way is it for a beginner hell no but i would say novice look to learn its a huge learning curve but definitely possible & really geared towards professionals I would say i will be shooting in manual mode for the next 2 months until i feel completely comfortable with every setting on it i love how hefty it feels like your holding a baby lol in other words don’t count on dropping it or leaving it the weight ratio in your bag will be immediately noticeable fuji has a nice lineup my recommendation is get something versatile or go with the primes i love versatility 18-55 xf is nice @F5.6 , 18-135 has mixed reviews & the more expensive 16-55 XF (red stamp) which i ever isn’t super flashy like you’d think at the end of the day long you get out & shoot all that matters download firmware update 2.0 the IBIS is waaaay better but it still need some more updates luckily fuji will deliver more soon im sure it slowed down like the shutter speed was on 15 lol on a photoshoot too just look buggy and non responsive not all the time but enough so I noticed even still besides that 1 thing i love it first fuji camera ??

I tried this in the store in NYC and frankly it felt weird and I wasn't really sold on it. Coming from, and greatly enjoying the X-T2, I thought the X-T3 would be my next acquisition particularly to replace my Nikon D750 that I use for sports. So the X-H1 felt bulky, the X-T3 was felt like an improved X-T2 but not earth shattering. I decided to wait a little and thought about my needs. In reality, I shoot more in relatively low light or less than ideal light for a lens like the XF 90mm. Yes, I have remote flashes, etc. but that takes time to set up. Stabilization seemed like the key feature and with the incredible deal that is running for the X-H1 kit, I decided to go for that. The more I use the X-H1 the more I am impressed with it. It has grown more and more comfortable, especially when holding the camera for long periods or with larger lens. The IBIS is fantastic. It truly is a game changer. I believe the AF is slightly better than the X-T2. The build quality is noticeable and to me, it seems like a good step above the X-T2 and the X-T3. The buttons and knobs are noticeably better, the body and seals appear significantly better. For Fujifilm APS-C, the X-H1 is about as professional as you're going to get. If it is not evident, I really, really love this camera. My poor X-T2 has been sitting with its lens cap on!

Switched from a Sony A6300. Both take excellent pictures, but the X-H1 feels more like a camera with physical controls. and dials. I feel more like a photographer and less a programmer. The Fuji lenses are outstanding.

I originally purchased this camera to replace a Nikon D750 which I loved! And no, I don't miss having a full frame camera. I use this camera for both video and stills. I use this camera with an X-T3. The X-H1 is used a lot for low light situations. The IBIS system has allowed me to take blur free still images hand held at less than 1/10 sec at iso 200. Additionally, the camera is built in Japan (if you care about that). Amazing IQ. The build quality is amazing. The Shutter is really quiet. I was able to shoot in a meeting setting and didn't disturb anyone. The only real issue I personally discovered, was the shutter release is a little sensitive for my personal taste. However, after some time using the camera, I'm able to avoid accidentally pressing the shutter release.

I know some Fuji users complain that the size is larger and it is but in relative terms compared to a DSLR it is still small and comfortable to shoot. The overall slightly larger size compared to the X-T2/X-T3 balances out the larger, heavier lenses such as the 16-55 and 50-140. The additional benefit of IBIS makes this an exceptional camera for shooting primes. I highly recommend this camera and at the current price point including the battery grip it is quite a deal.

I had an X-T20 so I was a bit familiar with the Fujifilm sep-up. The H-1 is definitely a pro camera. I wanted it for the IBIS for vintage lenses. It does exactly what I wanted it to do.Much better bargain now that the price has come down from 2K to $ with the hand grip. I love it!

The Fujifilm X-H1 is an amazing camera. With the IBIS it allows me to take indoor pictures of my daughters and pet at very low shutter speed. See this picture at 1/6th of a second handheld with the XF 60mm macro lens :) also ISO is low at 400!. I also have amazing pics with the XF 35mm F1.4 on this camera! I know now there is the x-T3 but in actual real life use, I don’t have the need for the improvements the X-T3 offers. I might get the X-T30 to complement the X-H1 later on. Also it appears Fuji is working on another firmware to better the eye focus on the X-H1.

This is a small, lighter weight pro-use camera that even with battery grip and lens, is smaller and lighter than my FF Nikons and has superb EVF and autofocus under just about any lighting conditions except very low contrast situations. excellent all-round build with all magnesium body and heavy duty lens mount. Great control layout AND VERSITILITY ! For the money, the best, hands-down digital pro-level camera available and with Fujicolor results !

Unfortunately the X-H1 proved unreliable when I had it. It would freeze and become unresponsive. Even flipping the power switch to off wouldn't power the camera down. I would have to remove the battery which would reset the camera. The camera felt amazing and balanced well with the longer lenses. It's just unfortunate it didn't work out.

Feels good in the hand, very solid camera. Very capable APS-C system, in my opinion the best APS-C. However, it did not meet my low light expectation, coming from a full frame.

Situation: Working daily with FF boxes (and that glass commitment), great stills tools to be sure, but not with strong video features sets I now need. I looked at all the available options out there, Fuji among them. First release concerns of the X-H1, were corrected with user feedback and a listening Fuji engineering team via firmware updates, and then there was the recent price drop....pulled the trigger. In theory, it would be that specialty tool that mostly sat in the corner, used on those days when I do not need to shoot for large prints, (greater than 30" X 40"), and video is part of the day. Be Warned: Pick it up and use it for 10 minutes, then try to put it down.Bottom Line: The video side is extraordinarily capable, all the video tools probably 90% of us really need. And then there is the stills side. The dynamic range and color science...no hype, it delivers. The 16-55 2.8 is outstanding on this body, more glass to follow....Cheers-

Great camera for stills. Spent a lot time outdoors in the rain. Sealing is excellent. Camera is well balanced with an incredibly comfortable grip. For people with larger hands this camera will fit like a glove. Stills output are very similar to the Xpro2 (so excellent with great colors), but I feel focusing is a bit faster. There are many different adjustments you can make to the focusing system and to get the most out of the camera you should make adjustments depending on the situation. Grip is not mandatory for stills but is a welcomed addition. Vertical shutter and dial are both is very comfortable spots and are easy to lock when not in use. IBIS is great. I was able to hand hold at 1/30th in the freezing cold rain and still got some very sharp images. Loses a star due to a few small issues. Battery life without grip is comparatively terrible. 300ish shots on a single charge for a camera this size doesn’t feel good. Loss of the dedicated exposure comp dial was a real bummer. Finally I cannot get eye detect focus to behave the way I want.

I've owned the XT-1 for a while now and I was looking to upgrade for some better video capabilities/more modern features. So I weighed the pro/cons of the XH-1 and the XT-3. I couldn't make a decision until the price of this camera dropped so dramatically - it was a no-brainer for what you get. I had to get used to the increased size, but it still has everything that makes Fuji so great.

Even though I have not yet utilized all of this camera's possibilities, the handling, user interface, stunning image quality and performance are all top shelf. It is definitely another Fujifilm winner and the IBIS performance is just stunning with the 90mm and the 16-55mm, non stabilized lenses.

Many of you are going to be deciding between this and the X-T3. They are now similarly priced, so it's even harder to decide.I own both but this one is my favorite. For those that like a nice ergonomic feel, an industry leading IBIS system (In Body Image Stabilization) and overall good performer; this is the camera to have. And at the price, it's pretty much a steal. It had it's growing pains when it first came out but with the recent firmware upgrades, this is now a solid performer. Some have complained about reliable autofocus on the X-H1. I can say it used to have that issue, but with the recent firmware, I feel it's very solid for most any type of photography work. The IBIS is incredible! I've shot at 1/5th of a second shutter speed handheld and gotten some amazing low light shots. IBIS is a nice way for a crop sensor to get low light photography at a full frame level! This camera is fantastic and feels great in the hand!

Fantastic camera and features
By PHILLIP W.
I’ve been a Fuji shooter for the last 4 years. I left my Canon 5D Mark II, and jumped into an X-T1 and hadn’t looked back. I later upgraded to an X-Pro 2. Now those who have the X-T2 may not jump at this camera as it shares many similar features of the X-T2 (and X-Pro2). Yes it still uses the same batteries that we all wish were made with greater capacity, but it is what it is. The bright side is you can swap batteries amongst your Fuji cameras. The big thing for me was the in body image stab...

Excellence!
By Rick M.
I have had this camera three or four weeks now and am just getting used to the different feel and heft of this entirely new Fujifilm camera. Note that I predominantly take still photos, so the video improvements, though welcome, are not critical to me. I buy these Fuji cameras (xT2 and X100F, as well) partly because of their beautiful design and their wonderful ergonomics, partly because of their incredible image quality, and partly because of the incredible lenses that Fujinon manufacturer...

X-Trans CMOS III Sensor
The FUJIFILM X-H1 features the 24.3MP APS-C sensor "X-Trans CMOS III", which delivers images with enriched depth. The use of aperiodic color filter array minimizes moir and false colors even without an optical low-pass filter. When combined with XF lenses, specifically designed for this series of cameras, the sensor achieves outstanding descriptive performance.
X-Processor Pro
The "X-Processor Pro" is a processing engine that draws out the maximum capability of the "X-Trans CMOS III" high-performance sensor. Its use of large built-in memory and advanced processing power boost the camera's speed and precision performance in interval shooting, shutter release time lag, AF, continuous shooting, live view display, etc. The processor also supports the Boost Mode for the vertical power booster grip, VPB-XH1, enhancing the camera's performance to another level
Autofocus
The FUJIFILM X-H1 boasts autofocus performance with enhanced capability to track a moving subject. With 91 focus points (up to 325 points), the camera has a phase detection AF area that covers 50% (side to side) and 75% (top to bottom) of the frame to achieve fast and accurate autofocus. The phase detection's AF range has been expanded by 1.5 stops from the previous 0.5EV to -1EV, while the minimum aperture requirement is also improved from F8 to F11. Enhanced AF-C performance during zooming means the camera can handle sports with erratic subject movements and capture a subject with fine textures such as a distant animal, with an advanced level of precision.
AF-C Custom Setting
The FUJIFILM X-H1 offers three user-adjustable parameters for determining focusing characteristics to make it easier to accurately track a moving subject in the AF-C Mode. There are presets to suit different types of scenes or you can determine your own custom setting.
AF Operation Systems
The FUJIFILM X-H1 features a Focus Lever for quickly changing focus point selection in eight directions. You can intuitively move the focus point while keeping your eye on the viewfinder (or by touch panel operation on the rear LCD monitor). The dedicated "AF-ON" button is positioned where your right thumb is placed, so that the focus point can be adjusted with the thumb, while the index finger can concentrate on delicate shutter release actions.
Control
The first internal in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system to feature in an X Series camera, harnesses three axial accelerometers, three axial Gyro sensors and a specially developed dual-processor. Combined, this achieves the high speed of approximately 10,000 calculations per second. When unified with compensating mechanisms, results in uncompromising image quality and precision with performance.
Colors
With Film Simulations, you can apply colors and tones that match your artistic intentions to your pictures, as if choosing different special effect photographic films. The FUJIFILM X-H1 comes with sixteen Film Simulation modes, which Fujifilm has uniquely created based on the color-presentation philosophy and know-how the company has developed through more than 80 years of photo film production.
Movie
The FUJIFILM X-H1 is the first camera in the X Series to include ETERNA, a new film simulation ideal for shooting movies. This mode simulates cinematic film, creating understated colors and rich shadow tones, greatly enhancing creative freedom during post-processing.
Functions
Flicker reduction modes are essential for indoor sport photography and the FUJIFILM X-H1 achieves this using a mirrorless camera, allowing for stable exposure during burst shots even under fluorescent and mercury lighting.
System
The FUJIFILM X-H1 has advanced features to support professional workflow, including the data communications function, multi-flash lighting support and compatibility with various software products.
