For reference: I am an enthusiast hybrid shooter who enjoys outdoors photography and documenting my family life in photos and video. I have loved Fujifilm products for years. I enjoy the film simulations, the ergonomics, and the overall feel of their cameras. I had high hopes for the XH2s, but I have felt a little let down by the reliability and accurancy of the autofocus. For personal projects and outdoor photography when I can slow down, it works great. For anything unplanned or spontaneous, I found myself missing the shots and it was hard not to blame it on the camera. Could be me, but with all the controversy about the focus becoming worse with firmware updates, I feel like I just can't count on this camera when I need to shoot fast or spontaneous. This camera has so much potential, but for now it won't cut it.

Got my camera earlier than what was expected. Not much experience in hardware but this is a good entry into it.

Many people will look at this camera and think how can fuji dare ask this much money for an APSC sensor?!?! Well..... the answer is quite simple. This is a STACKED APSC sensor and that makes a huge difference. This sensor is so fast it reads out video in 14bit..... 14 BIT!! This is cinema camera features we are talking here. Best rolling shutter performance you will ever see. Real professional codecs even in 6K! What else??? One of THE fastest photography cameras you will ever come across. The body is built like a TANK, weatherproof in cold, hot, raining environments. To anyone in 2023 STILL thinking you need a full frame sensor i say to you WAKE UP! We no longer live in 2010. This APSC sensor BEATS most full frame sensors in every single thing including dynamic range AND low light performance. The "full frame look" is a marketing thing you should NOT fall for. These APSC/Super 35 sensors are used in movie sets and large production houses. If it's good enough for them it's good enough for us normal folks....

This camera is amazing (paired with the right lenses). I've been using the Fujifilm 18mm f1.4, Fujifilm 33mm f1.4, and Viltrox Pro 75mm f1.2 and the kit just feels right. For photography, the 56mm f1.2 is great, but it doesn't keep up with the camera in video. After the 3.0 firmware update, the autofocus came out to play. Admittedly, the autofocus menus and settings are complicated, but it does have a lot of the features I was mislead to believing weren't present on Fujifilm. Subject detection works great. Touch tracking works well. Customizing the quick menu can make everything readily available. Silent shutter on this is top of the line. You can do flash photography with the silent shutter. Should you? Probably not, but it's there. For APS-C, this might seem like an expensive camera. If you look at full-frame cameras that offer similar capabilities, you're paying 2 to 3 times as much. It truly is a flagship level body (just make sure to update your firmware).

What a great little camera! Maybe the photos aren't better than my x t3, and to be fair I didn't really miss shots that much even doing bird photography. I will say the new nostalgic neg is quite good. The three very best sims are clasic chrome, classic neg, and nostalgic neg. It's worth the upgrade just for use of this. But after the x t1 it seemed to me the x t lineup didn't make any sense. They tried to highly competent camera but also a nostalgic throwback to manual focus slrs. Throwing all that out this camera uses the more modern pasm setup which just is better. The custom settings are really cool. The screen never lags and the whole camera seems unencumbered by the bad juju of having the spirit of a not-so-capable 70s camera. If i had to say one negative thing about this camera it would have to be the shutter button. It's not placed nearly as well as canon puts on their cameras. Something about it makes it so its very easy to jerk the camera on a shutter press. It can be worked around with a little bit of mindful technique. At the end of the day what really matters is the images and no one beats fuji when it comes to IQ.

I've been an X-T4 shooter but to me the X-H2s feels more like a professional level camera. Don't get me wrong, I love the X-T4 but the X-H2s will be the camera I'll take on paying gigs. My favorite feature is custom modes. Being able to quickly switch between my favorite collection of settings, photo or video, makes shooting in a high paced environment like a wedding less stressful. I've set up a HDR mode for harsh outdoor lighting, a more standard mode for inside, and a 30p & 60p video modes. I can switch, point and shoot with confidence knowing that I'm set up the way I want to be for the environment I'm in. If you have a need for more than the X-T4 can offer or want a more modern camera experience, I would recommend this camera for you.

Amazing camera, top of it's class. Waited around for over a year for this bad boy to come out, and after doing a ton of research and testing it out for a few shoots, it really does perform. It is a fast, accurate camera that is a joy to use in the field. The new sensor and auto focus and tracking are nearly perfect in every function, resulting in breathtaking stills. The Fuji ecosystem with .RAF files and X Raw Studio are a pleasure to use as well when shooting in RAW. The interface and UI while shooting seems very efficient and seamless when swapping to different modes mid-shoot. Really impressed all around with the product, and happy with the way that Adorama handled my purchase.

Perfect for me. Unlimited record time, ridiculously good dynamic range and color. Great AF. May purchase another one or the X-H2 when it comes out.

Tell me a camera that costs $2500 and gives you the ability to shoot 40fps, up to 6.2k, great IBIS, 14 stops of Dynamic Range, ability to customise as you like, etc, as we speak none. The new improved autofocus system of the X-H2S works great and it's reliable as long as you use the lenses build well for video like Fuji's 18mm, 16-55mm, 18-80mm, 90mm, 18-120mm, Tamron's 17-70, Viltrox's 13mm, 24mm, 33mm, 85mm, etc. I have used the camera at various shoots and it hasn't failed me. Hopefully Fuji adds the ability to shoot 6.2k/60p in future firmware updates.

It's compact, it has a great battery life, I like the extra speed we get with the cf express card. The auto focus improved. Comparing it to my xt4, it feels like they made quite a few upgrades, while maintaining a similar price point. I'm still not sold on the PASM dial. And the rear command dial can't be mapped to whatever you want. But Overall, I'm loving it.

Happy to ?come back home? to Fuji. Left Fuji as my main body as I wanted better .. sticky?er eye detect and CAF. Used Z6ii and eventually an A7IV. Both great cameras. When the X-H2S launched I had to try it! So glad I did. I?m 95% stills shooter for perspective. The X-H2S is well built and rigged. The EVF is IMAX compared to other EVFs. After weeks of side by side use the Fuji AF is 95% of the Sony with my use cases? and that?s more than good enough for me. The more I learn & shoot it .. it may be neck and neck. I?m not a pro/action shooter FTR. Colors are typical amazing Fuji colors. Amazing camera from Fuji.. well done!!

I've been a long time Fuji X user, with XT-1 through XT-3. After skipping the 4, I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to the X-H2S. I was unsure about the new PSAM dial and the loss of other handy analog controls on my XT series cameras. It took me a while to get the X-H2S set up with back-button focus and to be able to change exposure compensation in manual mode but once I figured that out I was good to go. I'm still getting used to the new controls but it's not as bad as I anticipated. The focus on this think is pretty awesome. I've taken it out once to do bird photography and it was able to pick out birds even deep in foliage. The IBIS is quiet and does a great job. This fast burst rate gives me a higher keeper count. Other than focus and stabilization, I'm not seeing a big difference in the quality of the images. I had to spend more on extra batteries (comes with one) and a battery charger (does not come with one). I had to by one of the new CF Express cards.

Fujifilm really nailed it with this camera. Ergonomically, its extremely comfortable to handle with its large grip and semi compact body. The pull out LCD screen is super helpful in a variety of different shooting scenarios and all the buttons (including the d-pad) are smooth. I won?t go into the specs much but know that the sensor is fast and sharp! Everything about this camera produces quick and high quality images. Where this camera really shines is it?s auto focusing ability. It just makes capturing moments more efficient and that?s pretty what you ask for in a camera. This camera is fun, versatile, and built really sturdy (weather sealed). Can?t go wrong with this camera! The downside is you must have a CFexpress card for video and a UHS-II SD card or else the camera won?t read/write any photos. And it?s not a full-frame camera, if you care about that kind of thing.

Coming from an X-S10 it feels like such a huge upgrade. I am not picky about the PSAM dial and love that I can use 7 custom settings for photo or video.

Amazing camera but not perfect. Perfect and reliable AF. Finally Fuji AF on par with Canon and Sony. Good image quality, nothing to complaint about there. Not sure about low light performance, did not had a chance to test it yet. I love ergonomics of this camera but still added Small Rig L bracket to support that pinkie. Battery life is ok, nothing to brag about. Front and rear dials lost its click button :(. I wish I could assign ISO to rear dial without clicking on ISO button first. Fix it with firmware Fuji, thank you.

I usually shoot a Fujifilm GFX 100, but was looking for something smaller that I can use as as second video camera that can mostly keep up with the amazing quality of the 100's sensor. This camera does the trick. Properly exposed images saved in RAW format on this camera are going to satisfy most of your needs. The video capabilities with the right lens should be very adequate. The colors are impressive. The features are plentiful. The auto-focus improvements alone are enough to make a medium format shooter giddy. I'm getting ready to take the 18?55mm cine lens for a spin soon. I doubt the overall package will disappoint. The new XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR lens is a great focal length in the meantime, with blazing auto-focus speed. The only critiques that I have is that it's not obvious that some of the CF Express Type B cards aren't going to pull their weight to drive the camera to its absolutely incredibly high capacity. Be sure to check Fuji's compatibility chart before you spend hundreds of dollars on cards that are going to limit you. Buy cheap; buy twice in this space. Also, the separate battery charger is SOOO slow.

This thing is flat out awesome! Pros: *Eye AF that is instantaneous in both people and animals. *Crazy fast burst shooting, awesome video options and performance. *Fuji colors and film sims now with a 10 bit image format that isn?t RAW. *ProRes Video (Nikon charges you $200 for this and you have to send the body in). *The grip is also very reassuring! Cons: *Awkward placement of the AF Joystick *very sensitive shutter will have you using back button AF almost exclusively. *If you?re a fan of the X-T bodies, this might not be for you. I am a huge fan of the X-T bodies, but the significant performance improvements brought on by the stacked shutter are too much to pass up and easily outweighs the loss of traditional controls. If an X-T5 shows up with this performance, then this would not be my first choice, but until then this thing is amazing. One note, I have shot with the Sony A73 and A7R2, so I?m familiar with Some Sony AF offerings and performance. This is significantly better than those for AF.

Fix it ...

Fujifilm has a real Flagship
By MILO S.
I've set up a HDR mode for harsh outdoor lighting, a more standard mode for inside, and a 30p & 60p vide...

- X-H2S Mirrorless Camera -
Never miss a decisive moment.
Featuring a stunning 5th generation X-Trans CMOS 5 HS sensor and X-Processor 5 in a beautifully designed body, photographers and filmmakers alike can now create at the pace of life and the speed of their imaginations.
5th generation sensor and processor
X-TRANS CMOS 5 HS: 26.1-megapixel stacked back-side illuminated sensor
A brand new 26.1 megapixel imaging sensor combines our existing back-side illuminated technology with a stacked, layered structure that quadruples readout speeds for faster image processing capabilities.
Speed: Faster than ever
40 frames per second
High-speed burst shooting at up to 40 frames-per-second
X-Trans CMOS 5 HS is capable of blackout-free bursts of up to 40 frames-per-second. In burst mode, the sensor's phase-detection pixels are controlled independently from the image display. This triples the number of possible calculations, which enables the ability to focus at incredibly high-speeds between individual frames with accuracy and precision.
High-speed burst shooting at up to 30fps for over 1000 images
Increased memory capacity dramatically extends the camera's ability to record continuous frames in burst mode without stopping. Reach blackout free speeds of up to 40fps, make over 1000 frames continuously at 30fps in JPEG, or write RAW images at 20fps when using electronic shutter on X-H2S.
Improved autofocus for better subject tracking in almost any lighting condition
An improved AF prediction algorithm alongside X-Trans CMOS 5 HS and X-Processor 5 provides a major boost to subject tracking and autofocus accuracy on moving objects, most notably in Zone AF and low-contrast conditions.
Subject-detection autofocus
X-Processor 5 features subject-detection AF based on Deep Learning technology that automatically detects and tracks a broader range of subjects, including animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains - as well as human faces and eyes, so image-makers can concentrate on composition and creativity, confident that X-H2S will track focus accurately.
Support for HEIF image format
The HEIF image format delivers 10-bit image quality in files up to 30% smaller than standard JPEG files, continuing to expand Fujifilm's reputation of delivering high-quality images straight out of camera.
Power: More powerful than ever
Open Gate 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10bit
Open Gate 6.2K movies can be recorded internally at 30P in 4:2:2 10-bit color.
X-H2S's 26.1MP Stacked BSI CMOS sensor has an incredible readout speeds of up to 1/180 sec, which tightly controls rolling shutter effects, resulting in more natural-looking motion when recording video.
4K/120P high-speed video recording
X-H2S also supports 4K/120P high-speed video. Now, fast-moving subjects can be recorded in incredible detail for high-quality, slow-motion footage.
Up to 240 minutes of continuous recording
The camera features a new heat-dissipating structure, increasing the video recording time up to 240 minutes of 4K/60P video.
Optional cooling fan accessory
Attach the optional cooling fan (FAN-001) to X-H2S to extend video recording capabilities in high temperatures.
Apple ProRes support
X-H2S supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT. ProRes 422 Proxy is also available when recording ProRes, which can assist in streamlining post-production workflows.
Enhanced AF for video
X-H2S supports the AF+MF function when recording movies and offers subject-detection AF during video recording for accurate tracking of fast-moving subjects.
New F-Log2
In addition to F-Log, X-H2S also supports F-Log2, which records an expanded dynamic range of 14+ stops. This range is wider than current F-Log and broadens post-production potential.
Workflow
RAW output via HDMI
When combined with an ATOMOS HDMI device, the RAW video output from the X-H2S can be recorded as 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW at frame sizes up to 6.2K and frame rates up to 29.97fps. And when combined with Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12Gs, the RAW video output from the camera can be recorded as Blackmagic RAW at frame sizes up to 6.2K and frame rates up to 29.97fps.
Remote Rec function
Add the optional File Transmitter FT-XH to support the Remote Rec function by wired LAN/wireless LAN. This new feature enables up to four X-H2S cameras to be simultaneously controlled from a browser.
Mobility: Lighter than ever
7.0 IBIS stops
Up to seven stops of in-body image stabilization
An all-new 5-axis in-body image stabilization system, made possible by X-Processor 5 and a sensing control function, provides up to seven stops of compensation. This powerful feature gives users the freedom to handhold in conditions that previously would have required support, such as sports or low light.
5.76 million dot high-resolution electronic viewfinder
The high-resolution electronic viewfinder has a 0.8x magnification and uses 5.76 million dots for incredible detail. A refresh rate of approx. 120fps suppresses image blur and distortion typically caused by looking through the finder at extreme angles, making it easier to track moving subjects more accurately.
Tough, weather-resistant body for use in all conditions
With 79 weather-sealed points offering high levels of dust and moisture resistance, X-H2S is built to withstand the rigors of daily professional use and operate as normal in temperatures as low as -10 Degree C (14 Degree F).
Shutter durability
Shutter durability has been further improved, withstanding 500,000 actuations in the internal testing.
Advanced operation and controls
Updated handgrip
X-H2S improves on X-H1's beloved handgrip to provide a more assured feel. This is especially useful when using longer or large-aperture lenses.
Feather-touch shutter release
The shutter button's feel has been adjusted to make it more intuitive when half-pressed, helping users release the shutter at precisely the right moment.
Supports CFexpress Type B card
X-H2S has one CFexpress Type B memory card slot and one UHS-II SD memory card slot. Draw out the full potential of X-H2S's incredibly fast burst mode and its professional video performance with CFexpress Type B cards.
Enhanced video functions
Video operation has been made easier, thanks to the stand-alone video-recording button and 1.62 million dot vari-angle LCD monitor, which can be fully rotated - even when HDMI and microphone cables are plugged in. A full-sized HDMI Type A port is also provided for the first time on an X Series camera.
Increased connectivity
X-H2S can be connected directly to a PC for webcam and livestreaming use in 4K, without requiring the FUJIFILM X Webcam software. It can also be combined with the optional File Transmitter FT-XH to support FTP transfer and tethering capabilities through wired and wireless internet connections, or USB-connected smartphones.
- XF 18-120mm f/4 LM PZ WR Lens -
Make Moving Memories
Compact, lightweight, and versatile, this lens is tailor-made for motion production professionals and enthusiasts alike. XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR features a variable power zoom, smooth manual focus, and stepless aperture adjustments to ensure a seamless recording experience.
With a 35mm zoom range equivalent to 27-183mm, a close focusing distance of 60cm (23.6in) throughout, and near-silent zoom and focusing controls, XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR is perfect for a broad range of motion production applications. These extend even further when considering the lens's minimal focus breathing, stepless aperture control, and constant F4 aperture. Pull focus, make precise adjustments to iris, or change focal length without causing any noticeable distractions to the recorded footage.
Perfectly Balanced
Zoom lenses are rarely used with gimbal stabilization devices because changing the lens' focal length can affect its center of gravity. This, in turn, impacts how the lens is balanced on the stabilization device. However, thanks to its compact dimensions and internal zooming mechanism, XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR is an ideal solution for use with a gimbal because its physical length does not change when the zoom setting is changed. This results in a variety of creative options while having only one lens fixed to the camera.
Take Control
A conventional focus ring provides manual focus control, while a new innovative zoom lever offers variable zoom speed. Two custom function buttons, meanwhile, allow for the ability to preset a constant zoom speed, focal length, or focus point. Stepless aperture adjustments underscore the engineering subtleties of XF18-120mm that provide any storyteller with absolute control over every part of their image.
Film in Any Condition
XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR will always be ready for those unexpected creative moments, thanks to its weather-resistant design and fluorine-coated front and rear elements, which are designed to repel dust and moisture from the lens surfaces, making them easy to clean. Confidently film in wet or dusty conditions, in temperatures as low as -10 Degree C (14 Degree F) and focus on making a new masterpiece.
