I had a hand in the development of the Fujifilm S3 UVIR, the IS-Pro and IS-1 UVIR cameras, and in the few short weeks that I've had the X-T1, I discovered that it has the same capabilities as those previous editions of UVIR cameras from Fujifilm. However, like the previous versions, it would be a mistake for any user in the Forensic world to not purchase the full line of available UV-IR filters from Peca Products as a compliment for the Fujifilm X-T1. While the B+W 092, 093 and 098 that comes with the forensic kit work great, they are not sufficient in providing the user with the full capabilities of this camera in the Forensic arena. As well, a good ALS is still needed. In my testing I have found the X-T1 quite capable with questioned documents (altered, faded, burned), biological fluids (blood, saliva, semen), and for bodily injuries. As for the artistic photographer, it performs exceptionally for those who want to try infrared photography as an alternative means of expression. I wouldn't recommend purchasing all eight Peca Products IR filters for artistic purposes, but perhaps the Peca 902, 904, 910 and 914 might be the ones to have in an ultimate collection. If you want to get one or two, I would recommend the 910 or 914 and the 902. - Michael J. Brooks (Retired FBI Academy Instructor of Scientific & Technical Photography)

I have been shooting with Fujifilm gear for about four years now, and for a while, I was continuing to use Nikon DSLR equipment as well, but the images and the feel of quality that the the Fuji X system has, is very seductive and the madness of the temptation of every new piece of gear that came along with two systems, caused me to say goodbye to Nikon and extra bulk and weight that went with it. The shooting experience of the X-T1 is sheer pleasure. The manual controls that can be seen and changed so easily are a big plus for me and the Fujinon lenses are superb. If you do plan to use this camera with any of the larger Fujinon lenses, I would highly recommend the MHG-XT Hand Grip. This makes two X-T1's that I have in my kit. (Okay, I admit it...I'm Fuji Fan Boy)

Great camera, but it looks like the sale is over. I got mine for ($) including the ($) 35mm lens, now it is ($) just for the camera! Lesson: wait for the sale to reappear. But the camera is tons of fun, I love all the manual controls, and 16mp is more than enough for what I do (online viewing, prints up to maybe 16x20). One warning is that this is not a good camera for sports or wildlife, I have found the focusing system is not up to that (although, caveat to the caveat, I don't have the best Fuji lenses).

The things I really, really like about the Fujifilm X-T1: The ootc jpeg colors and IQ, plus still having availability to RAW files. The overall build quality - weather resistance, metal body. Fujifilm offers many lenses with WR for their APS-C sensor bodies (which many other manufacturers do not) to provide a compete weather resistant package. Fast, highly accurate, and silent auto focus with good continuous AF tracking. Responsive EVF that shows the effect of changes in aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, and film simulation. As a result I've been more deliberate in my picture taking, which has reduced my number of shutter clicks and reduced my post processing time.

Excellent camera. I am a former Fuji X100S user looking for interchangeable lenses and this xt1 was an excellent price.

though $ more just for the looks..this camera definitely deserves that. When I was researching for a handy cam with bigger sensor, I was told by my friend to look at fuji which had a great deal running , which matched my budget. Happily bought this and testing out with cheap manual lenses. Great color tones and awesome image quality. My daughter who is 9 now, is also enjoying the cam, as the she is playing around with all the controls to see the different image output. overall, nice and happy to have this camera. Still have a secret desire to get Xpro-2, but can't afford now!

This camera gives me hope for taking photography seriously again. I'm an old man (in relative terms) who loved the photographic process from beginning to end. I formulated my chemicals in both B&W and color processes. My cameras were spare, one or two lenses for 35mm, 120mm and 4X5 inch formats. Digital photography ruined what I loved most about the process...because it is a process and not hit or miss casting about. I could not tolerate point and shoot methods. This camera gives me choices for analog settings and for choosing film types with their corresponding ASAs. When I made a rich, saturated color exposure with this camera I had to work the anger out after 35 years and try to let joy back in.

I'm still a beginner when it comes to interchangeable lens cameras, but I spent a bit more than a year doing research, looking at different cameras, talking to professional photographers, and hunting for deals. As a hobbyist I didn't want to put down a whole lot of money on my first camera just to find out if it's a hobby I'll enjoy or be any good at. The Fuji X-T1 was already near the top of my list of short list of cameras I was interested in. When this deal dropped I knew it was time to pull the trigger (or press the shutter button?) and finally buy one. The deal from Fuji now that this camera is officially discontinued was already a pretty sweet one, but the free accessories Adorama threw in made it an unbeatable deal. Especially for a first-time photographer who is just starting out. This bundle included almost everything I needed or wanted to get started. I've spent about two weeks with the camera so far and it has been a lot of fun to learn and explore its functionality. This deal is an unbeatable value.

I love Fuji cameras. I came from S5 Pro Fuji SLR and waited till their mirrorless cameras improved and became more affordable. I still have good set of Nikon primes and zooms and wont be completely switching. The X-T1 does not disappoint. Fuji's lenses are premium both in quality and especially price. Maybe the used market will improve. Only had the X-T1 for a month but enjoying it. Still getting used to shooting with only the EVF.

Light, portable, fast, sharp, stunning photo quality; I bring this camera everywhere I go now and pull it out for quick shots whenever I want. (Faux film) Colors come out great and barely needs editing

Fuji X-T1 is a great camera, and I took it with me to Alaska. It works great and the picture quality is very good. I moved from a DSLR system because mirrorless cameras are just a delight to use, and X-T1 is one of the best. Somehow during the shipment the extra battery was left out so it was delivered at a later date. Otherwise shopping with Adorama was a great experience.

I was excited when my new camera arrived. wanted to explore mirrorless. excellent camera, great quality images, very retro style, reminded me of film days. easy to get used to. opened box , inserted battery and started shooting. I am now getting my feet wet and learning more and more. love the camera though

I owned both the X-E1 and XE -2 and loved the size and ergonomics. I was a little apprehensive about the size and feel of the X-T1 but I really like the grip and the size does not bother me. We all know his is a great camera. The selector buttons on the back have a different and cheaper feel but that is a function of the weather sealing. I also find myself hitting the function button on the front of the camera by accident. I love the performance and the grip allows me to reach for the camera and pick it up quickly in the correct orientation.

This camera bundle is ideal for those who are on a budget and/or the hobbyist who likes to shoot around every once in a while. The XT-1 is ok but I prefer the XT-2. If you can afford it go for the XT-2 and you won't be disappointed. Purchased this camera as a second camera, but it didn't meet my expectations. The extra $$ is worth getting the XT-2. Fujifilm fixed all the issues that I didn't like about the XT-1. Happy shooting everyone!

This camera was a big upgrade for me and it has some wonderful features. Creature Comforts: Wireless app synching controls to your phone work well and are very neat. The only one I really use is the file downloading, so I can send them out immediately. Fundamental Controls: Right at your fingertips with many ways to exercise your preference. Especially EV control. . Capture speed is pretty good. Menu is easy to navigate. Body: Rugged and durable frame. Solid and ergonomic feel for my hands (I'm 6'2"). Only complaint would be the battery door, since it is not spring loaded. On a few occassions I have accidently flipped the latch and the battery dropped out. Battery life is pretty good. Wishlist: Bigger Screen. It is already a good size and gives you a general impression of your shot, but when you open it up on a computer screen, often times the critical shot you think you got, is not nearly as pristine. Time delay and exposure functions works pretty simply, but I was hoping for better results with low light conditions.

I was a life long nikon shooter. Unfortunately I injured my back and had to find a lighter kit. Every lens I have shot with has been very good to incredible. The prices are very good and the build is great. Raw files are good but jpegs are incredible. I shoot raw+jpeg just incase I miss exposure. I've used it to do protraits, combat sports, and weddings. AF is very good and MF is easy with focus assistance. Not much you can't do with this camera. Only real gripe is not being able to shoot flash while in burst mode.

The Fuji XT combines the manual plus automatic features that I desire. It has features that I don't use-----yet. My wife and I have three XT-1's -why anyone would pick a dslr or a competitors mirror less exceeds the capacity of my IQ.

I should probably give this a 5 star review because the camera does exactly the job I bought it to do. It is easier for me to take along on hikes because it weighs less than my DSLR and gives me more control over image capturing than my phone but sadly not as much as my DSLR. It would be nice if the focus was faster, but if that was important up front I should have gotten the Xt2. I unrealistically expect it to perform like my DSLR. It doesn't. So there is a learning curve in what to expect. In time I am sure I will be able to bump this up to a 5 star feeling.

After having this camera for a couple months and using it non-stop, I've figured out a lot of what I like about it (and the very few things I don't like about it). What drew me to this camera initially was the ergonomics and aesthetics. My favorite feature is having all of the exposure controls assigned to dedicated dials (ISO, shutter speed, exp. compensation, and aperture on the lens). Twisting the dials is so much easier than navigating a menu to change exposure. Another thing I love is the size of the camera. Transitioning to this from a Canon 5D has made it much easier to carry my camera around with me everywhere. As for image quality, it rivals high-end DSLRs. Great colors and dynamic range. RAW images are a breeze to work with in post. The 18-55mm kit lens is a wonderful lens as well. Very snappy and silent autofocus and very good image sharpness. There are only two things I don't like about the camera: 1. the custom functions you can assign to the 6 buttons are somewhat limited. Nothing that can't be updated with future firmware though hopefully 2. two of the manual focus assists aren't very great. The focus peaking in theory would make it easy to get precise focus, but I've found that it isn't very accurate. I've taken several pictures using focus peaking only to see that my subject was out of focus on my computer. I was also disappointed by the digital split image focus assist. I love split image prisms in older film cameras but this is a poor digital replication. Unlike its analogue counterpart, the digital split image is hard to use because once the image is out of focus, it's difficult to see if straight lines line up or are off from each other. In all, a great camera that produces superb images. For the most part very easy to use and gives you a lot of assists and features that DSLR's don't offer.

If you really like the classic photography, and really enjoy the manual mode. This is a very good option for you. I bought this because I loved it by the first time, because a friend let me use his. Now I think I already displace my other camera because of this one. The colour, the quality of each detail, and of course the weather sealed is a huge problem. Highly recommended if you are looking for something very special and unique.

The body is light, much lighter than the D3 and D300 it replaced. Overall image quality is fantastic with very little post-processing necessary. The AF is as expected, differing depending on the lens used.

With the recent price drop of the X-T1 bundles in-lieu of the X-T2 release it was an excellent purchase in terms of value and savings. The Kit Lens is exceptional as well. I enjoy shooting with it and I now carry it with me everytime I travel.

I've had the Fugi XT1 now for about two weeks and suffice it to say that my complete Canon kit is up for sale. The Fugi is the first digital camera that equals or possibly surpasses the build quality of my film cameras. The last one being the venerable Nikon F3 a camera that I treasured and used exclusively for many years. My intro to digital photography began with a Canon D40 and progressed to a D5 mk11 both cameras produced beautiful images and prints but were heavy and awkward for street photography so I thought I'd give the fugi a try after seeing a couple of other photographers shooting on the beach with XT1's. I shoot mainly raw as I like the post work with Lightroom but the jpeg images from the Fugi are just awesome . I especially like the film simulations that are built into the camera as I used Fuji film exclusively in the past and the XT1 does an excellent job recreating the look of classic Fujifilm. As I mentioned the build quality of the Fuji is just wonderful. It is built like a tank but light enough to carry and use all day without attracting unwanted attention. I always hated spending serious money on anything made of plastic. I love the control dials on top of the camera as it is much more intuitive for an old film guy like myself to set up my shot. The internal controls are well laid out and straight forward as well and it seems that Fuji is dedicated to upgrading the firmware for their cameras and lenses as well and that is to be praised. The autofocus on the XT1 is far superior to my old Canon gear and the Fugi lenses for the X system are just top notch. The EVF is amazing especially in dark situations although a bit grainy in low light. If there is a drawback to this camera it would be battery life but I can live with that. I use the accessory battery grip as it gives me a better feel in the hand and the extra power that I may need. I have to say that the Fugi system is the system that I will be using for the next few years at least. I'm looking forward to building a fine kit and highly recommend the Fugi system. I am quite pleased!!!!

It has made me a better photographer
By Ryan M.
I cut my teeth on a Nikon D300. Learning composition, exposure, etc. I was ready to move on when I heard about the X-T1. The simple fact is that it has made me take better pictures because I am in complete control over what my image will look like from the very beginning. The EVF makes this possible by showing you exactly what your image will look like before you snap the shutter. Never again will you waste a shot by fiddling with the exposure triangle. When you raise or lower a setting the ...

Combined with excellent Fuji lenses, which all are, this kit rocks. I use it with strobe for portraits but what has rekindled my flame is how the camera commands natural light. ISO highs are flawless. I make commissioned prints up to 24x36 and the files compete. One must realize that prints that large need a viewing distance of 6ft or more. Stand back and they resonant. There are few quibbles. But so what. All positive reviews have said it. The way of the future is now.
The Fujifilm X-T1 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens features a 16.3 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor to produce high-resolution imagery with an expandable sensitivity range from ISO 100-51200 as well as a top continuous shooting rate of 8 fps. Fujifilm's proprietary X-Trans sensor uses a unique randomized pixel array in order to avoid the use of a resolution-reducing optical low-pass filter, therefore providing images with the utmost sharpness and clarity. This imaging system is benefitted by the Intelligent Hybrid AF system, which uses both contrast- and phase-detection methods to acquire focus quickly and accurately. Enhanced manual focusing capabilities are also a result of these technologies; Digital Split Image and Focus Highlight Peaking are two methods for quickly and precisely determining focus using intelligent focusing aids for improved control and optimized efficiency.
For image monitoring, review and menu navigation, both a 2,360k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.0" 1,040k-dot tilting LCD screen are available. The body design extends this versatility through the implementation of manual, physical control dials on the top plate of the camera as well as customizable buttons and a Q Menu button for expedited access to some of the most useful settings. This control scheme further enables an intuitive built-in Wi-Fi system for direct sharing of imagery to an Android or iOS mobile device for instant sharing online.
Full HD 1080p movie recording in multiple frame rates is possible and a 2.5mm microphone input permits the use of an optional external microphone for improved audio quality with recordings. Full-time continuous focusing is supported while taking video, also, as well as the use of Film Simulation modes. Film Simulation modes make use of Fujifilm's history of producing both negative and slide films and allow you to apply those films' characteristics to your digital imagery to better suit your intended look.
Included with the X-T1 is the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS lens; a standard zoom lens providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 27-84mm, covering wide-angle to portrait-length perspectives. This lens integrates optical image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake to benefit working with longer shutter speeds or greater focal lengths and a linear motor-drive AF system provides fast, smooth focusing capabilities.
