Questions & Answers

JEROLD V : Does this create HDR images automatically or do I need to manually process bracketed sets?SHAWN H : in hdr mode, it will shoot with 400% dynamic range automatically (can also adjust yourself in single shot mode within settings). Takes a bit extra time.SHAWN H : it is automatic. there is specific hdr drive, next to single shot. Can specify dynamic range priority in settings when single shot selected. It does 400% dynamic range with hdr selected, same resolution.TOM M : The X-T5, much like the X-T3, allows you to set dynamic range (DR100. 200, and 400) to suppress highlights and enhance shadow detail. You can also bracket as usual, but also google "X-T5 HDR" and read the Fujifilm manual instructions for use of the HDR function. This box will not allow me to include the link.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JAMES P : Great camera, good priceKYLE T : It was this or the OM-1. The sensor size and National Geographic’s endorsement won me over.Jerry G : Did a lot of research on most Fuji cameras and found the X-T5 to be the best option to suite my needs. Wanted the X-H2 but it seems they have much bigger files to contend with and may have to upgrade my computer system also due to the new CF-Express cards. I switched from a Panasonic bridge camera (awesome camera) but I wanted the ability to be able to change lenses. Hope to have a good experience with the X-T5OHHYEON K : so prettyEDWARD P : Great write-upsBRIDGET D : Husband wanted it for a gift as he is upgrading from his older model.JOHN T : previous fuji experienceKEVIN J : Excited about the new sensor and MP countROGELIO F : Always wanted a Fujifilm CameraJUAN D : I live Fuji x series line-up. X100vi vs xt5

Great camera! I'm using a 27 mm lens and it is a great combo especially if you are planning to use it for travel. I had initially considered the x100vi but when It came down to it I decided on the xt5 because I felt like I was getting more for my money, I would say it was a bit heavier than the x100vi but overall pretty happy

Just Buy It, You Know You Want To?

If you were hoping this would be a good alternative to the X100VI, then look no further. It has the same IBIS, 40MP, and Film Sims. You're really only missing built in ND filter and it's bigger in size but not by a crazy amount. You get a bigger battery, weather resistance with the right lens, 2 SD card Slots. I believe the EVF is bigger as well. Considering the price that X100VI is going for now it's really not that expensive to get an XT5 and a 23mm or 27mm WR version and be set. This is also another benefit as well. Different focal lengths.

Great X100VI Alternative

Bought as an alternative to the X100VI. Having the option to swap out lens makes it much more versatile. Much more powerful camera and possibly less forgiving to the newbie compared to the X100VI but am glad that we went this route instead.

Great Camera - hope it lasts

Everything about this camera is great except for the build quality. I'm sure Fuji did their market analysis but for me please raise the price 10% and bring back the build quality that we loved in the X-T1 and 2.

Completely in love

It produces the most nostalgic feeling photos. Seriously, it's like a film camera without the processing.

Awesome Fujifilm camera

This is an excellent camera and kit with the 16-50. I think there is a lot more value for a little more over the XT-50 with the WR and manual controls.

I'm very happy I stepped up to the XT-5, couldn't be happier.

Love the camera with the new kit lens. Build quality of both camera and lens is superb.

Great deal on a great camera

Great camera and kit lens. While on paper the same price as elsewhere, you get the additional memory card, battery, filters etc that made this a far better deal in my opinion. This is my second Fujifilm camera, and it's getting me back into enjoying just wandering with my camera

Fujifilm x-t5 with xf 18 to 55 mm f 2.8 to 4 LM-OIS

A really nice do it all camera with easy to learn software. It was a kit with lense included but the lense had the same focal length as my phone so was redundent. My hands are large yet worked out fine. Did not take it outside and spend a lot of time with it so can't provide a more thorough review.

In love with this camera

I absolutely love this camera. It is beautiful and helps aid in producing stunning photos. I don't think i could ever go back to using any other camera that doesn't have functional dials for setting changes on the camera. I would recommend this camera to everyone.

Great camera in the XT line.

Great Fuji body. I know some complain about it not feeling sturdy, but this is just because of lighter materials. I also have an XT3 and they seem equally durable in practice.

Refresh of Creativity

This camera has been a joy to shoot with. It has actually encouraged me to broaden my photography styles. And the film simulations you can set are awesome. The size of the camera is great and after having this camera I am convinced all cameras should have dials for everything it feels so much more efficient. Absolutely would recommend.

X-T5, absolute best in Fuji's X-T series

The Fuji X-T5 is the best in the X-T series in my view for three reasons -- size, it's smaller than the X-T4 and conveys a classic, compact look; weight, it's lighter and fun to carry; built and technology, it's simply superb.

So far, I'm in love

Upgraded from the Fujifilm X-T30 II and it was definitely worth it for the features and 40mp sensor. I've had it for four weeks and I'm still exploring everything, but so far, I'm in love.

Fujifilm knocked it out of the park with this one!!

Absolutely amazing camera. Love it. Feature rich, This platform has something for everyone beginner to pro. The simulations are awesome and the Fujifilm color science is exceptional. Fujifilm has really stepped up their game with regard to AF and is on par with other platforms for sure. Tracking modes are really cool too. Does insects, birds, trains, planes, cars, drones, animals, people, eye, face, etc. This photography first camera with manual controls is a pleasure to use in full manual as well as aperture or shutter priority or even full auto. Video is really nice with this too, although that isn't my primary focus.

First Fujifilm Experience

I am an enthusiast amateur who has spent most of my days in the Canon ecosystem, with brief flirtations with Nikon and Sony mixed in for good measure. This is my first Fujifilm camera, and I am duly impressed so far. I traded my Canon R8 in at Adorama after it overheated and shut down on me at the top of the Austrian Alps in Innsbruck this summer. Bad timing. I still hold the Canons in the highest regard, and still go back and forth over the move from full back to cropped sensor, but the retro look and feel of this X-T5, with the actual dials for the most important settings, the metal construction, and image quality have won me over.

Perfect camera for me

My first Fuji camera and I'm in love. Working with the dials for easy and quick adjustments is so satisfying. Image quality is superb. The Fuji film simulations create beautiful jpegs with little to no post editing needed. Highly recommend.

Lightweight, great for travel is you're a light packer.

Overall, this is a great camera. I wanted a smaller, lighter camera that would be good to travel with and this xt5 was perfect. There has been a bit of a learning curve going from dslr to mirrorless. I found a third party YouTube video to help with set up. That was really helpful.

Fun and feature-filled

I started my photo journey with a Fujifilm X-T30 and the upgrade to the X-T5 feels natural and the added functions really enhance the experience. I'm by no means a professional shooter but for the money, this is a pro grade camera with incredible colors and film simulations that is just a joy to shoot.

A nice upgrade from the X-T3

Coming from an X-T3 I reckon the newer version has nice features and kept it in a small package. However, I'm slightly disappointed with the build quality, in that regard you can perceive that the materials are not as premium as they used to be, specially the top plate.

Thrilled with the upgrade

I upgraded from the XT-3 to this XT-5. I'm happy that the handling and menu system is familiar but I'm getting improved focusing, more pixels for doing larger prints and terrific stabilization. My images have improved. Appreciated extra battery and card added by Adorama in their kit.

Great Upgrade

By ROBERT M.

All the things I loved about the X-T3, but better. Same articulating screen, very similar form factor, all my the buttons and knobs I want, plus now 40MP, better autofocus and IBIS!

Ultimately rewarding

By TOM M.

Fujifilm digital cameras, especially the X-T series, is for the serious photographer - pro or amateur. I say this because it requires time, attention, and practice to master its many customizable options. This can be frustrating, but ultimately a highly rewarding experience. I have used Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, and Hasselblad, but I still love fuji best.

Comparable in size to the original X-T1 and 50g lighter than its predecessor, X-T5 features the latest high-resolution, 40-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR sensor for simply stunning results. Quick and easy to use thanks to its classic, dial-based layout, the camera features cutting-edge technology. This includes a seven-stop in-body image stabilization system, Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode for 160-megapixel files, three-way tilting LCD with 1.84 million pixels and action-freezing shutter speeds up to 1/180,000 sec from the electronic shutter.

In addition to its versatile suite of stills capabilities, X-T5 is also a highly capable moviemaking machine, recording up to 6.2K in 4:2:2 10-bit color internally - or 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW via HDMI.

Big Resolution, Compact Dimensions
Offering the ultimate image quality, X-T5 features the class-leading, 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR CMOS sensor in a compact, lightweight body that maximizes functionality and portability. Imaging performance is in no way compromised by the camera's diminutive proportions. Instead, X-T5's improved image processing algorithm delivers outstanding results, packed with detail right across the native ISO range, which now extends to ISO 125.

The classic X Series design has been retained. Dials predominate, making key functions - including ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation - quick and easy to set, even with the camera switched off. X-T5 is also comparable in size to the original X-T1, and 50g lighter than X-T4. Despite this notable weight reduction, the X-T5 offers a new, 1.84 million dot, three-way tilting LCD and powerful in-body image stabilization.

Fujifilm X-T5

1/180,000 sec Shutter Speed

X-T5 provides powerful image making performance to ensure it's ready for action, no matter how fast your subject is moving. A top electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 sec and maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 sec will stop any subject in its tracks, while a lag time of just 35 ms gives almost instantaneous response when the shutter release is pressed. Keep a finger down, and X-T5 will record images at up to 15fps with the mechanical shutter, or 20fps with the electronic shutter. Either way, no important moment will be missed.

For those who like to stay out in the field longer, X-T5 offers extended performance from the NP-W235 battery. Up to 680 frames can be recorded from a single charge, plus the mechanical shutter guarantees 500,000 actuations, delivering long-term accuracy and reliability.

Long-Lasting Image Making Power

Seven-stop in-body image stabilization

Thanks to X-T5's in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system, quality-sapping camera shake will be a thing of the past - even in low-light conditions. The system works in five axes, combatting all types of camera movement, and provides up to seven stops of compensation to unlock limitless opportunities. IBIS works in harmony with the camera's subject detection autofocus, which uses deep-learning AI to expertly track animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, planes and trains.

Tracking moving subjects is made easier by the detailed electronic viewfinder (EVF), which uses 3.69 million dots to provide a bright, vibrant display. The EVF offers 0.8x magnification for an easy-to-view image that's further enhanced by improved suppression of parallax and distortion compared to its predecessor. The 100fps refresh rate, meanwhile, allows virtually blackout-free image making.

Create with Confidence

Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode

Following in the footsteps of X-H2, find the stunning Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode in X-T5, delivering detailed files like never before. The feature utilizes the camera's IBIS system to precisely shift the sensor, automatically recording 20 separate frames with one press of the shutter release. Resulting files are combined using Pixel Shift Combiner software to quadruple the camera's resolution and produce a detail-rich, 160-megapixel file. Perfect for commercial applications or digital archiving, it's also ideal for any static subject where image quality is of primary importance.

Not Just a Stills Camera
X-T5's hybrid capabilities are enhanced by its powerful video functions, which complement the camera's impressive stills performance. Movies can be recorded internally at up to 6.2K/30p in 4:2:2 10-bit color, plus there's a 4K HQ mode which oversamples 6.2K footage for superior 4K output. This higher video resolution unlocks 2x digital zoom functionality, providing additional in-camera versatility without a noticeable drop in quality.

Both F-Log and F-Log2 recording are possible, the latter providing expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops, plus 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW can be output via HDMI, to Atomos and Blackmagic devices accordingly.
