I use it with windows 7, but I would not hesitate to buy it for a windows 8 computer.DANIEL R : Hi Jim: I have Windows 7 and it works fine....so I can't think of any reason that it wouldn't work on a Windows 8 operating system. It's a great product and I use it all the time to transfer audio files and videos from my PC to my Samsung tablet that uses a Micro SD Card. Shopper : how does it work?JOHN B : I bought this for someone who is tech-challenged so that they could access the photos on the SD card from their camera. Because if behaves more or less like a USB flash drive, it has worked well for her. I have heard of no problems.MICAH B : You plug this usb card into the computer and then plug the memory card you have into it. It will show up on your computer as a hard drive and then you can drag and drop into it or off of it on to your computer. I have one and it works great. It's basically converting your memory card into usb so you can plug it into your computer.

Pretty Good

I purchased about 15 of these for my classroom. They work great so far. The only complaint I have is that they are somewhat difficult to insert into the computer. It is a little snug.

Works great for an inexpensive reader!

The built-in card reader on my Toshiba laptop quit working a while back & I got tired of the the hassle & slow transfer rates from the camera to usb cable with my Panasonic GX1 & GF3 cameras & Panasonic V520 & SD80 video cameras. I was pleasantly surprised with the speed of this inexpensive reader. I shoot raw + jpegs on the cameras & the highest quality video settings on the camcorders. No complaints.
