Does the job correctly.

I have been trying to find an HDMI switcher and actually tried a few switchers with frustrating results. While I would have been happy with manual switchers, all except one had remote controls. The main problem was that other than the true manual switcher the units all sensed when an input was on. Since one of the inputs (DVR) was always on, rather than being turned off when not in put, the switchers would go to the other unit when switched on, but not revert back to the DVR. And the remotes did not work correctly. The truly manual switcher worked fine, but was somehow damaged, possibly somehow from an overload and stopped working. And the one I had before this IOGear unit would switch itself when watching TV/DVR between its DVR input and the BluRay input, even though the BluRay was turned off. The IOGear is not perfect since it requires that I select the DVR input after having watched something from the BluRay, but other than that relatively small problem, it does the job of creating an additional HDMI input for my TV. One thing I didn't try with this unit is if it will allow bidirectional communication with a source. I mention this because I also have a Roku Express and watch Britbox through it. There have been occasions when a Britbox show would not permit me to watch it until I directly connected the Britbox to the second HDMI input on the TV, rather than through a switcher. So I don't know if that is a limitation of the IOGear. But the end result was that after a lot of trials with various switchers, the IOGear finally solved my problem.
