Workhorse

Workhorse of a machine. Lightweight and thin but large display. The display is more square than rectangle than I expected but that is my fault. I dont mind the ratio, its actually quite nice. Plenty of resources to run many applications including vmware guests.

Terrible Display Screen

I like most things about this laptop except the display screen. It has gray shadows unless your head is in the exact correct spot. If the screen isn't tilted exactly right then the gray shadows show up again. Even if my head is directly in the center when looking at the screen the sides appear darker. If I adjust the screen brightness it doesn't make the dark shadows go away it just gives a bright glare which is also hard on the eyes. Since I look at my computer about 8-9 hours a day this is a pretty big problem.

Workhouse of a business laptop for power users!

I use various tools that require plenty of RAM and CPU support. Often, I would use a cloud based environment because my RAM tapped out with a few virtual machines. I came across the HP Elitebook 860 G9 doing a search for power laptops. I brought this during one of HP's recent sales promotions can waited like a kid for delivery. I love this laptop already as I was able to use it for demo's and developing projects. It's working out to be a great laptop that allows me not to feel tethered to a desktop for resource hungry programs.

Great computer overall, with one issue

One problem with this PC is that if you connect it to a PD battery pack (instead of the original power adapter), it drastically slows down the CPUs (as reported by Task Manager when running a CPU-bound task), even if the power settings are configured for Best Performance. This happens with an 87W output Anker PD battery pack (and also with a 45W output AmazonBasics PD battery pack), so it's not that the pack output is too low. Other than that, it's a great computer, packed with security features, and I love the 1000-nits super bright anti-glare display for use with lots of sunlight.
