Should be better
It does not work as well as it should, with my dual screen setup it will randomly assign monitors 2 and 3, which is a real pain and I have to restart and try again.

Don't buy it.
Didn't work properly. Wouldn't always connect. Had trouble waking up the laptop and monitor with it. It's weird because at work, the one I have is perfect. But my personal laptop seemed to hate it.

Expanding my Spectre 3 fold.
This G-5 Dock turned my HP Spectre x360 into an amazing machine with 3 monitors. It looks stealth sitting in the middle of my desk, unassuming, but ready for more plug ins.

Great idea
Works great. My monitor and Ethernet plug into the unit behind the monitor and I only have the one USB-C input to my laptop for power, internet, and my second screen. No separate power cord and more reliable/faster internet than WiFi.

Doesn't play well with my HP ENVY
Good price point. However, I cannot leave my computer in sleep mode overnight. It won't recognize my HP monitors the next morning without unplugging the USB-C connector. I was using a DELL USB-C dock as I was retiring and did not have this problem.

Nice item - be sure to double-check compatibility
I used this dock when I had employer-issued equipment a few years ago. I really liked it and was sorry when the job ended and I had to send it back. So this year, I was finally able to get it from HP at a lower price than anywhere else! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be all that compatible with my current HP laptop. When I connect the laptop to the dock with the C cable, it doesn't charge or power on, so I have to use the power cord (didn't before). It also doesn't recognize the HDMI cable from the monitor (maybe it would recognize an older type of cable, but I haven't tried). It's rather disappointing. I have an different model HP laptop that might be more compatible, but the one I use regularly has more memory, so I was hoping it would be seamless with this one. Oh well.

Works great with MacBook Air
The G5 is a replacement for a more portable docking device for my MacBook Air, which tended to overheat when operating an external disc drive. With the G5 I found I really don't need the portability, it stays on my desk with accessories connected. An added benefit is my external speakers sound much better through the docking system, so high marks for the DAC in the G5!

I Like it
I like it. It has a small footprint, charge through design and a nice sales price. Not a whole lot of ports but I have both my 3d and laser printer plugged in, good enough for me. I use dual monitors when I have my laptop plugged into it with no issues.

HP Dock Video Output
The only issue I have with this dock is thebpoor quality of the video output from the HDMI port. Even after making BIOs changes, the video is still not as good as going straight from the HDMI port on the laptop.

Works fine after some initial incorrect setup error messages.
Easy setup - but I received some error messages during the setup of the new laptop the docking station was hooked up to. One was for the insufficient power, which is clearly wrong as the computer power need is on 75% of the dock output, and the second was for my mouse which was not even connected yet.

Is it a new product I got? I runs good, only thing is when i move the mouse or type to bring the laptop back from sleeping, it doesn't wake it up, whereas the same product from my job office works when i attach the same laptop.

In need of a docking that can work with all my extra stuff!
Shopping was fairly easy. Because I own an HP laptop, I figured I would start on Amazon and work my way through. Got one from Dell which did not work and the one I had previously completely failed. So I tried HP and they had two. I got the better one. Turned out to be the right one because everything is working as expected. Thank you, HP!

Enables quick moves between home and office
Number of ports is good and the types of video and USB are what I needed. This is great for quickly moving between work at the office and home. Unplug one cable and ready to move.

Partially works as desired
Although I bought my notebook and the dock at the same time, I don't think the notebook and dock are fully compatible. The USB ports work for an attached keyboard and mouse. The network port works. However, it does not charge the notebook and the HDMI connected monitor does not project. The HDMI port on the notbook projects to the monito but the dock HDMI does not. I spent several hours plugging and unplugging as recommended in troubleshooting. I downloaded drivers and firmware and updated all of those. I used the troubleshooting app/ I looked on the suggested youtube feeds. That's the state I am in.
