I was really excited about my new purchase of this laptop. I obtained it a bit more upgraded in the ram part for my business use, and i purchased 3 for the excelent price. 2 weeks into using mine, my screen went black. Came online to figure out what was wrong, and I noticed lots of complains with this model regarding the same screen issue. I am still waiting on HP support to help me solve the problem. Should have done more research other than the reviews on here before I purchased. Other than this, the computer works well in speed, screen image WAS beautiful, good WiFi. Keyboard and mouse a little difficult, with my palm touching the mousepad and moving my curser while I type, and difficulty with opening the laptop - it has no slit to put fingers into to pry open the LT. Moneys worth? Still not sure.

I was only looking for a basic model so I could go on the internet and remote to my desktop machine from the sofa, so I wasn't looking for much. This is pretty much (almost) the lowest spec laptop in this screen size. My old one had an Intel Centrino processor so it was getting a bit old, plus it only had 500MB of RAM, so pretty much anything was going to seem better. This HP has not disappointed in that respect. I like the widescreen, although it has a glossy finish (old one was matte) so the light from the window behind me reflects off it during the day. Also, there is no catch/lock to hold it closed (but the hinges do a good job of that) and it's a little difficult to prize the screen open (it could have benefited from [more] of an indentation to put your finger into so you can open it. Keyboard takes a little getting used to, but that's going to be the case with any new machine. I also chose the model because it was one of the pre-built ones so I could get it really fast (that's why I didn't get the completely basic model in the end). Overall, I like it and you can't beat the price.

I have 4 of 5 bars indicated for signal strength when I'm in my family room, but I keep loosing my internet connection even though my status window says I'm still connected to my router. This never happened with my other HP laptop computer or my son's MAC Book Pro laptop. The internet even drops out out sometimes when my laptop is less than ten feet from my router.

I'll eventually regret not returning this laptop. But I'm currenrtly in need of a servicable machine 24-hrs a day, so I'll make do with it. I may just be spoiled by my previous Dell Vista 15", but the cursor pad is poorly designed, in an inconvenient location with dull, imprecise action. It's tiring to hunt to find the left side, tiring to search for the right side, and irritating to have to expend so much energy thinking about something that should be effortless. I'm also disappointed in the screen height. It's wide enough, but too short for my taste. It's a light machine that feels cheap. The prime example of "you get what you pay for."
