Excellent product. I have now almost all versions of these models. I wish if hp 15C & 12C both had dual numeric functions i.e. RPN as well as Algebraic like it is in hp 35s.

I ordered a new HP-12C because my old one kept entering multiple numbers when I pushed a key. The new one has done that a couple of times already. But I hope with the new one it doesn't happen as often.

Love the calculator but was told when I ordered it came with a manual. I asked and was specific. No manual and very difficult to open and start from scratch. ??

I have owned the 12 C for many years. Finally mine gave up the ghost and I wouldn't have any other calculator.

The plastic sleeve is cheaply made, too narrow, doesn't fit the calculator. This makes me worry how well the electronics inside are manufactured

I've had my HP12C for 36 years now. Still have original HP12C Owners Handbook and Problem Solving Guide. I used it during college years and later in my career in investments. Best calculator ever!

Have had an HP 12C for close to 40 years. Still works flawlessly. Just bought two more, one to leave in a second office and the other for traveling. Don't know why I took so long to do this. Cannot speak highly enough. One of the finest -- likely THE finest -- product to come out of the calculator age.

I have an old 11C I have had for 30 plus years, still going strong. Bought this one to keep in my office at work. Have not used it much yet, but it is basically same calculator as my old 11C. I paid about 90 bucks for the old 11C back in the 1980's. This one was a little less than 50 bucks. Not every day something gets less expensive, and adjusting for inflation, this was indeed a real bargain.

The new 12C is a great calculator, extremely fast, about 10 times faster than my 12C Platinum 25th Anniversary Edition calculators. The keys on the 12C have a nice tactile feel and they all register on the first press. The rubber feet on the bottom are a little thicker and have more grip than my 12CP?s. The paint on the keys on the 12C is more subtle than on my 12CP?s. The body of the 12C is solid and well built. The unit that I received was manufactured in the Philippines and is powered by two batteries. My 12CP?s, purchased in 2006 were manufactured in China and are powered by one battery. I purchased my new 12C direct through HP, their fulfillment program was fantastic?no complaints.

I have been using this calculator since 1988 - the first one last forever and the second one for a good while. The last two have been sub par. My current one is less than 2 years old and the keys stick or do not register leading to math errors daily. Very disappointed and sad about it. I guess you get what you pay for and since the price has dropped dramatically so has the quality.

The first HP12C I had lasted 11 years. This new one I ordered directly from HP works fine, except it came out of the box warped. Will not lay flat on my desk. Have to hold or it will wobble when entering data.

Over the last several years, the what used to be "amazing quality" of the last couple HP's I've purchased (yes a couple in as many years) has been absent.... Prompting me to waist even more of my time to write this review. A myriad of problems from sticking keys to duplicate numbers when a key is pressed, to no number registering when a button is pressed..... I deal with millions of dollars everyday. We all know the significance of a missing digit. I'm looking at 3 HP's in front of me: One made in China, one in the Philippines, and one in Malaysia. It is so frustrating to know i can't depend on any of them.....

This is my third HP calculator since the early 80's. Always dependable and accurate, as well as comfortable to use. Thanks HP for such a great product!

I lost my HP-11 a few years ago in Hurricane Harvey. I tried using an app on my phone for a HP-15 but just wasn?t happy with the tactile feel of the keys. The HP-12 doesn?t do all the things I need as an engineer, but for many of my Project Management tasks the HP-12 works great. I?m glad I made the purchase. When is HP going to bring back a replacement for the HP-15? I?d buy it in a heartbeat.

I have owned my HP 12c for over 40 years - and it has been in daily use for the last twenty. Last week, it finally gave up the ghost. I have been bragging and bragging for years about what a great product this is, and alas my old friend is now gone. Never fear though, my brand sparkling Platinum edition has arrived. Amazing engineering!

I got my first HP 12C (American made) in 1989. It worked flawlessly until I left it on the seat of my car with the window open while it was raining. Over the last 15 years, I've purchased 3 new HP 12Cs. After about two years, the keys start sticking, keystrokes repeat themselves, keystrokes don't register, etc. The calculators always start to go bad after the warranty has expired and HP has never rectified the problem. If you look on other sites, many users have expressed the same concerns. You simply cannot be confident that your input is accurate. HP has to know this is a problem. It would be nice if they did something about it.

The Gold-Case HP-12C is a workhorse; does just about everything most students will require. A plus is that the device seemingly lasts a lifetime! I have two of them. The RPN ("Reverse Polish Notation") feature makes it easier to do "chain" and arithmetic calculations. I'd like to add that the original 17BII along with the 19BII were the best devices for those who would or could write complex Solver-Equations, equations that required LET and GET capability.

I replaced my 1980+ hp. Some keys on my old 12c started sticking. It was time to retire it and treat myself to a new one. Would not want to be without it.

I bought the HP 12C Financial Programmable Calculator to replace my boyfriend's 25+ year old calculator of the same model. His old calculator's #5 key was working intermittently. The new calculator was a big hit and made his day :-) The ordering and shipping process went well too. Thanks for being such a great U.S. company!

I've used this product for almost 20 years for financial and accounting applications and it remains as reliable as ever. For those who referenced incorrect mortgage calculations, you have your settings programmed to calculate at the 'Beginning' of the monthly billing cycle, rather than the 'End'. To change, simply press the blue 'G' key and then the #8 key (end). In your scenario, the $200,000 mortgage at 5% interest for 30 years will result in $1,069.12 if you have it set to calculate at the...

I bought one of the first HP-12's out (I think it was 1978 & cost $119.95). I still use it today as I have every day since then. I have been a real estate broker, appraiser, & mortgage auditor. I have even taught classes in the use of the HP-12. The use has been terrific ! I have a couple of programmed functions I use all the time. The numbers have worn off the back; HP has replaced the pad several times, but the calculator never fails. It is impossible to outdo this unit for the money. Howel...
