Purchased my monitor with a bundled pc and printer. First one was 9 months old when it developed problems with black blobs appearing in the corner of the screen. I contacted HP and it was still under warranty and was replace with another monitor at no charge. Even though first one had issues I like the size, clarity of picture and features of the 2159 and would purchase the model again.

I bought this widescreen monitor to replace an older 4:3 model. I didn't relize how much more can be displayed on a widescreen. For example, two full pages of text can be viewed side-by-side. The picture quality on this monitor is great, the refresh rate is very fast, and the price was very competitive. All-in-all, I think this is one of the best monitors on the market because of the high quality and low price.

This was one of the cheaper monitors I looked at, but I was still pleasantly surprised with the picture and color quality. It has VGA, HDMI, and DVI-D, so there are several different connections options. We use the monitor to watch DVD's through our PC, and the quality is as good or better than other HD TVs I've seen in stores or elsewhere. I would definitely buy this monitor again, especially since it was so reasonably priced.

This monitor is not as good as my HP w2007 20' monitor. I don't like the power button on this Model. This Monitor the power button is on the lower right and is fragile. It looks and feels like it could break off. Otherwise I would give this monitor a higher rating. I do not recommend this monitor to others, because of the power button!!

I ordered on Wednesday, and got it on Friday before noon. Simply amazing. The picture quality is superb, and response time is excellent. I looked for weeks for glossy screened monitors and this one caught my eye as it was cheap, big, and overall glossy. This is my first HP mointo and so far Im impressed. My games have never looked so good before now. You will definitly need a graphics card to push it at the full resolution if your going to be doing any gaming.

The HP 2159m is a fantastic monitor. The resolution is superb and the sound is pretty good. I gave it only 4 stars in Performance because it lacks any true, deep bass. The HDMI connection is a very, very nice feature in that it allows for only 1 cable to run from my laptop to my monitor. Sweet!

After years of looking through 17" flat screens and 15" CRTs, this beauty was a breath of fresh air especially as a gamer and having my game take up the whole screen. It's like playing in a movie! I stopped watching my TVs and opted to watch everything on my computer. Awesome buy!

As DaveJ wrote: Other than the fact that every time the monitor comes out of sleep mode it shows the current connection in a huge ugly pop-up, this thing is great.

This prodcut should rate 5 stars, except that when I bought my unit it did not contain the correct cable for linking to my computer. I went and bought the correct one myself. When I ccntacted HP they refused to compensate me for it. Other than that I love the monitor and have had many positive compliments from friends who have seen it.l

This is quite simply the best monitor I've owned. Picture is crisp and clear, great size (no longer need 2 monitors to work on my photography. Color is great, good detail. With the monitor and desktop I am now a HP lover...bye bye Dell!

I love this monitor. It is very bright and clear. I bought an HDMI cable to go with it, and it looks simply amazing. I bought the monitor for photos and programming. I love the size and resolution - I can see more of a photo and more lines of code. The speakers aren't bad - they are just what you should expect of built-in speakers. I really like all of the settings you can adjust. If I desire another monitor in the future - this will be it.

In just over a year since purchasing the HPL2208w wide screen non-reflective screen monitor, I purchased the 2159m to use with my MacBook at an alternate residence. I am a 50-year-old "Student" again, and the 2159m gives me an edge getting all of the homework performed with my online classes. I immediately ordered a DVI interface dongle so I can attach the monitor to my MacBook (yes, HP provided both DVI zed VGA cables, the dongle was needed to get into the Apple min-display port) and I am simply astounded with the view from this monitor. It is as if you can stick your had right through the screen. The colors are brilliant. The response time is fantastic. It is amazing how much technology can improve in just over a year. The gloss finish on the bezel and the BrightView gloss display match the design elements on the MacBook perfectly. There was no problem switching from the older wide screen display to the new fully HD at 1920 x 1080. Speaking of glossy displays, know a lot of people gripe about the glossy displays but you won't hear a complaint from me. It gives a new dimension in color depth performance. I can have three virtual classes running simultaneously with this monitor and laptop with room to spare. And, I have no headache after hours of working. The display melts my eyes in a good way! The size is perfect. Not too big--it takes very little desk space and comes with it's own internal speakers. I can lay my texts and work area out with space to spare. Concerning the speakers, another gripe I have with consumers is that they want everything for nearly nothing. I will not complain about the bass response of these speakers, because you get more than what you pay for with this monitor. You will not get sub 100Hz audio performance from small speakers. Period. If that is what you want, then get a small mixer and some $300 to $600 5" or 8" reference monitors (which I have when needed) for your ears. The main problem with this monitor is that I take breaks from my online classes and watch DVD movies---then never get back to the homework! The shipping was free, delivered to my door (ordered Friday delivered Monday), and set up was a breeze. One caveat is the silver finished base, where you can rest your laptop after a viewing session. It can scratch from the aluminum body of the MacBook, so be sure to use a small cloth to protect it. Masterview

Response, clarity, and color saturation are excellent. Video's are as good as any flat-screen TV. One of the reasons I choose this monitor is that it is one of the few that has a 'Bright' display. It is not the matte screen offered by some. I like this feature as it produces clearer more striking images. Reflection of background is not a problem with the HP BrightView screen and like the result.

If my 21.5 iMac is Batman, then my 2159m is most certainly Robin. I remember going into Best Buy to purchase a monitor, they had one one display among a bunch of other similarly sized monitors arranged around it. The brightness and clarity of the monitor immediately attracted my eye. Once I got it home and set it up, it was clear I'd made the right choice. No, it doesn't quite match up to the quality of my iMac's display, but for the money? Close enough! Six months later, the monitor performs just as it did the day I bought. Not a single pixel gone bad. Just buy one.

Beautiful picture and good functions. I have this monitor hooked up to 2 boxes, one running the ATI 4530 512 MB VC, the other is running an old 128MB GeForce 4 card. Both have crisp clear pictures on this monitor and look great. I almost bought a monitor separately when I bought my pc because I found a different brand that was a little bit cheaper, extremeley happy that I went with the HP monitor. Looks great, works great.

This monitor is all you could ask for; except the sound volume from the internal speakers. Sound volume leaves alot to be desired. If you're hard of hearing; don't buy. If you have external speakers you plan to use with it; buy. Everything else about this monitor is excellent.

So far, I have found this to be a good purchase with the exception of sound quality which is really poor. I wish that I would have been told that I would need to purchase speakers.

I got this bundled with an HPE150t for 90$ off, and at 160$ it's a steal. Overall contrast and color saturation is excellent. Backlighting is not completely even however, there is a slightly bright patch along lower edge. Hooked up to my XBOX360 via HDMI while waiting for my PC to arrive and it almost put my plasma TV to shame. Can't wait to hook it my to my new PC. Internal speakers are about what you'd expect, but at lower volume levels are really not too bad.

I like everything about this monitor except the glare on the screen. The screen has a high gloss finish, so you can see your own reflection and objects/light in the background behind you. I find this very annoying and am returning the monitor.

Great monitor but based on the specs I expected to have height adjustment and swivel movement. HP needs to correct that. But for the price plus company discount, I can live with those omissions. This is a great monitor.

I recently upgraded my 19in. Hanns-G monitor to this one and all I can say is it is definitely worth it. One can't go wrong with this choice, superior picture and sound. I eventually plan on using this for a combined tv/entertainment setup and can't wait to see how this monitor receives high-def channels. Hats off to HP on this one! Keep up the good work!

The video quality is fantastic, it is crystal clear and barely any glare, it only has a big reflection, when the monitor is turned off. This computer flat panel HD monitor. The integrated speakers are loud and clear. It is recommended to use HDMI sound rather than the analog green jack audio out input.

I recently purchased a loaded 9280 elite desk top and added this gem to the package. The display is so clear and crisp it looks like you could reach in and touch the images. I can't wait to see a Blu-Ray movie on this screen. Great job HP. If it lasts as good as it looks right now, I'm sold on HP products.

I knew when I saw this screen it was the one, with a decent graphics card you can have this screen run at HD and experience a whole new look. The power button lights up a cool blue and the on-board button like menu, source and auto are easy to touch. I am a graphic designer and this screen is perfect for my designs. I recommend this screen to anyone who wants high quality with a good price.

I bought this monitor because it is 1080p. Great little monitor for watching hd video or everyday computer use. It has a nice design and goes good with any HP desktop. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars in overall is because mine has a dust particle wedged in between the glass and screen. I do not want to send it in for repair because I'm worried how it might be returned to me. I sent my laptop in for repair a year or two ago and it was returned to me fixed but full of scratches. Great product none the less. Buy it!

I only have one thing to say. The monitor is great but the darn thing is not height adjustable! What a terrible feature to be missing from such a fine monitor...

I bought three of these and I couldn't be happier. These monitors produce an amazing picture quality. No dead pixels and the settings are simple to adjust. The integrated speakers have very good sound quality and they free up desk space. I cannot imagine anyone not being happy with this monitor for the value.
