HP TouchSmart 300-1020 Desktop All-in-One PC with 20" HD LCD, 500GB HDD with Windows 7 Home Premium

I was a bit apprehensive after my purchase until I got this device home and hooked it up to my photo printer and negative scanner, both epson products. I shoot conventional negative film and scan it in to edit and print on archival paper using pigment based archival inks. This system runs all beautifully. I have been able to do all the editing ,image resizing, and printing with no problems at all. It handles larger files with really high res images with no problem. I love the results I am getting with my imaging, whether straight digital from raw files , or starting with conventional black and white film and scanning into this computer to work with from there. I would highly reccomend it to anyone who just likes shooting family photos, to the sreious photo enthusiast who prints exhibition quality images.

This is a very nice computer! The PC, keyboard and mouse are all nice quality. It started up and I got started with no issues at all! The Windows 7 takes a little getting used to, but I like it much better than XP or Vista could live without the touch screen, but my son loves it. The CPU is fast enough for my needs and it runs itunes very quickly. I think that this is a bargain for what you get out of this computer. NOTE: On another review someone complained about the Bluetooth, but this computer does not have Bluetooth, so that’s most likely the reason they had a problem.

For the record, I am reviewing my purchase of an HP TouchSmart 300. (A previous review mentions trouble with bluetooth which this product does not offer.) I purchased this computer three days ago. The only problems I've had with it resulted from my tweaking of new features and were easily rectified. Out of the box it fired up and ran seamlessly. With any new OTB computer, there is a period of time where all the first updates take place, sometimes slowing things down initially. Once the drivers and applications are updated, things settle and run smoothly. This computer is no different. The included software bundle could be better rounded, I'm left wanting a few titles that used to be standard issue with HP computers. For this I knocked off a star from the rating. The all-in-one package is new for me coming from desktop towers and laptops. I like having fewer cords and cables to deal with and the added space where my old tower used to stand. The unit is sleek, stylish and aesthetically pleasing. Not only is there special software utilizing the touch screen to its full ability, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some of my old favorite applications dating back to Win98 work with it as well. Overall, I feel like I'm using the computer of the future and so far I'm liking it.

I purchased the product as a Christmas present for my two young daughters and am disappointed in how the system works. There where issues right out of the box with the HP advisor not working correctly causing the system to hang and run very slow. The touch screen it usable if you are interested in the applications loaded on the system. The blue tooth capabilities are painful and mostly not usable. I should have purchased a good quality laptop for less money. This is another Windows product that will never function as expected and I am going to see what options I have on returning the product.

I just purchased a TouchSmart 300 last weekend for my father who's 88 years old. I considered an Apple iMac which we also have in our house and opted for the new TouchSmart PC. I'm blown away with its capabilities and ready to buy another for our own home! It was up and running in no time, I loaded video files, photos and music and it was a very intuitive process. It was a piece of cake to customize and build slideshows with accompanying selected music. The touchscreen is the best I've ever used, the display is razor sharp and the speakers are great as well. This is a home run! The selection of games are teriffic and provide a wide variety from the classics to popular entries; the games are all quality software that take advantage of the touchscreen technology. This machine is fun for all ages. One warning, once you open the box, be cautious of sleepless nights because you'll find yourself spending hours loading it with all your family archived photos, music and videos. HP scored on this product and I'm glad I made this choice and can't wait to give it to my father!
