Will Stick With HP
Had an old HP Envy windows 8 and had it updated to windows 10. Computer was about 15 years old and used almost daily for my small business and home. Would have kept it if it wasn't for the fact that my windows 10 could not be updated and started having problems with USB ports going out. So far the new Envy I purchased is doing very well. Hopefully windows 11 will be here for awhile. I have stuck with HP for many years and at my age will not switch.

Audio jacks do not work
We received our new HP desktop computer on 6/11/25. Shortly after receiving our new PC, we discovered that the headphone jack was not working. Currently we are using a View Sonic monitor with built in speakers. The sound is fed in through the HDMI cable. When we plug in headphones, the audio to the monitor's speakers stops. But no audio is coming through the headphones. We have tried 4 sets of headphones and we get the same results. We have also tried connecting computer speakers to the back of the unit. We got the same results. No audio coming through the speakers and the audio to the built in monitor speakers stop transmitting audio.
I can't get any customer support. I created a ticket and got a ticket id three weeks ago. Haven't heard from HP. When I log into my account the Ticket Id doesn't show up. How do you get to talk to a real person.

Great System for me
The HP Envy is basically a commodity and has been the perfect system for me. It has enough power for me and is relatively quiet. The RTX 4060 graphics card may not be the newest but it is more than enough for the few older games I have. I also like the HP Support Assistant for updates. Given the price I paid, I am very happy with the system.

Transition problems
I'll skip to suggested areas of improvement.
I purchased my new Envy desktop with Windows 11 to replace my old HP Pavilion with Windows 10 which Microsoft won't support after October. Since I connected my old Pavilion to a monitor that uses a cable with a VGA plug and also to a TV that uses an HDMI plug, I hoped to do the same with the new Envy. Before purchase, I asked HP whether I could see a picture of the back of the new Envy computer. They said there were some pictures available online, and I was relieved to find a picture showing a VGA outlet and an HDMI outlet on the back, just like on my old Pavilion. But, when my new Envy arrived, I was about to return it, when I didn't see the VGA outlet on its back. Instead there was one HDMI outlet and three other outlets without explanation that I learned on my own are DisplayPort outlets that can be converted into VGA or HDMI outlets by adapters that are available from online stores.
Also, the Windows 11 on my new computer didn't have printing to Fax that I had come to rely on with my old Windows 10. Again I researched on my own and found that one can download Fax and Scan for Windows 11 for free from Microsoft, so my previous capacities are now restored, but HP should include much more pre-sale and pre-delivery information to ease such transition problems.
With functionality restored, my new Envy with an i7 chip is ever so much faster than my old computer, so, I'm happy and giving it a 4.

Very swift desktop
A swift and user-friendly desktop computer. Set up was easy, a large improvement over past computers. So far it does everything I could ask and quick as lightning.

Easy transition to this new HP tower. I would recommend this HP equipment to my friends.
I found the transition from my 14-year-old HP tower running Windows 10 to this new HP tower running Windows 11 very easy. I purchased an app which helped tremendously in copying/converting all of my files. The new tower is very fast. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with it.

Some problems
Having a lot of network wifi drops. Also, drops articles opened for reading arbitrarily. Didn't have either issue with Win10 HP ENVY. Could be happier.

Remote desktop
I needed to purchase a new desktop in order to work remote when I moved to a different state. HP had the requirements needed to do that. I am extremely happy with the size and speed of the new computer. I has met my expectations.

HP Let me down BIGTIME
HP rejected my original review of this PC for no apparent reason other than the fact that i was very critical of every aspect of my recent purchase.
So, how about this:
I have been a 30+ years supporter of HP and HP let me down on my recent purchase. Even after i wrote two previous critical reviews, they have not responded nor have they even offered a shred of apology for their clear incompetence. I will gladly look onto a Dell or Acer when I'm in the market for my next PC equipment.

Top Secret Power Switch
After using the HP ENVY computer for a couple months, I am very pleased with the performance although I custom ordered with upgraded ram and graphics. Hardware could not be better. Windows 11 tends to be intrusive, as expected. The trial period McAfee is mediocre. Overall, I am very pleased with my HP ENVY PC. That said, I do have a pet peeve. The power switch is a tiny slit requiring a thumbnail to activate. Be assured you will never accidentally turn on this PC.

Nice desktop computer
After my HP Envy desktop that was manufactured in 2012 started having issues and running slow I knew it was time to upgrade. I got a good price on this computer so I decided to purchase it. So far I'm happy with everything. The computer is very fast and handles everything that I've thrown at it with ease. There a plenty of USB ports for connectivity. The only thing that surprised me is that out of all of the USBs, only one of them is a USB-C. The rest are high speed USB-As. Not a big deal, just surprising. Overall I'm very happy with this computer.

HP Envy 5049
Excellent no problems with the hardware. The windows 11 software is buggy and One Drive automatically defaults and sends data to the cloud. It too awhile for me to understand the function of the dual drives (SSD & HDD). The documentation is generic to all models and not specific to my model.

Fast computer
I like this computer - much faster than my old 12 2/3 year-old HP computer. Minor complaints: I liked the old way of seeing if my computer was asleep - the blue light on the CPU tower changed to orange which was more visible from different locations and angles. Also, the old computer had a small light on the CPU tower which showed when the computer was busy doing something - the new one does not have any way of showing this.

A solid choice for a home computer built for work
The HP ENVY TE01-3019 Desktop PC is a good quality work computer. This is NOT a gaming machine. If you want to get work done at a reasonable price without a pile of bloatware that you have to uninstall, this is your machine. I have purchased 2 of these machines in the last 3 years and both continue to work well for me.

They wouldn't publish my other review because it was 100 percent real, true, honest, and "offensive." Perhaps they have a safe space with crayons and milk and cookies so they can get away from the offensive words which are not just words but are actual "violence."

Working with hp customer service
Determined to be defective from hp phone tech support after multiple calls. The only option/ solution was for hp to do a factory reset that would erase all of my data that I just paid $75 for software to transfer from my old to my new that took about 8 hours. I have sent an email almost everyday for help without getting any "real help". I finally received a email response from a tech support person giving me a contact # and a tech ID # but I called for days for my call to be cut off.

Good computer but no way to order a dvd writer. The front panel of the case doesn't even have a knockout to put one in.
