10,000% disappointed...

Okay, confession, this review is for the 650 G7, which I could not find the page for. My employer just upgraded our machines to these. I've waited two years since the announcement of the upgrade to finally be able to utilize my multiple 4K monitors. Imagine my surprise when after a couple months of fiddling and buying new DP and HDMI cables I discover that the Thunderbolt G2 dock we received with our new laptops does NOT support dual 4K with 650 G7. Just so we're clear... - 650 G7 claims to support dual 4K monitors - Thunderbolt G2 dock claims to support dual 4K monitors But the spec sheet's fine print states that together, they can only support a single 4K monitor. I also have an HP Slim Dock. Same issue. There is only ONE dock listed in the 650 G7 spec PDF that supports dual 4K monitors. That is the Type-C Universal Dock, so I picked one of those up. Finally arrived this weekend. I was excited. Sadly, this particularly dock requires the installation of special drivers in order to work - something my employer does not allow users to do. Most large corporations and organizations restrict user installation of drivers. So once again ... I find myself without the ability to use dual 4K monitors. Meanwhile, my personal laptop, is a Dell Precision model I purchased back in January 2016. It doesn't even have a USB Type-C or Thunderbolt port. It is over 6 years old and runs a triple 4K setup without a dock (4K laptop screen +2 external 4K). I actually run four 4K screens via a StarLink USB 3.0 adapter. That's four 4K screens on a 6 year old laptop. And the HP ProBook 650 G7 cannot even run TWO 4K monitors! What really frustrates me is that ALL the marketing statements imply support for dual 4K setup. So disappointed.... *** I love your printers. I will never ever buy any color laser printer other than an HP. I learned my lesson with a nightmare Dell laser. So you still have me as a customer for printing.

Not good at all

I have had this computer for about 3 to 4 months and honestly the only thing good is really the ethernet port, that is very useful for me in the IT sector and it is fast, thats it. When removing it from the box I instantly could tell its far lower quality than computers I've had including HP Elitebook 1040. The battery is way too small for the laptop and is frustratingly unable to last a reasonable about of time. In keeping with the bad battery, its size and poor design of the computer if you are using the computer on a not quite even surface you will have issues with the left click area binding. First attempt at contacting HP support was an exercise in futility. At the price point an IR camera should be an automatic but no. Would be nice to have more than one USB C port that is used by the dock that likes to disconnect my external monitors in windows upon disconnected the computer or locking it or it going to sleep mode, its almost laughable. Lets mention too that they put the power button right on the keyboard area (between the prt scr and del buttons, yeah. The display, looks pretty good, although unlike most every laptop I've had in the past several years the screen doesn't adjust brightness automatically... it really sucks and TBH it doesn't get very bright at the highest level. This whole experience really changed my view of HP computers and realize the Lenovos aren't so bad.

Less than expected

I have purchased several HP computers in the past. None in this price range though so I was expecting better quality. First, I mistakenly thought it was touchscreen. (Why isn't it??) Second, the privacy screen doesn't work well. Third, there's an issue with the brightness that can't be overcome no matter what I do. To be fair, this item is lightweight. And the keyboard lights up, which is a major plus. Also, my upgrade to Windows 11 was very smooth.

Defective Product, Slow Relief
