Poor quality

I bought this laptop 6 months ago because I had an original Pavilion laptop that I loved. The original one was very well constructed with a metal case, keys and trackpad. It lasted for 10 years with no problems and was a pleasure to use for research and writing. The trackpad could scroll like a smart phone and the keyboard was gorgeous, with large, smooth keys that were clicky and responsive. The new Pavilion is junk - it's made of plastic, with square edges and a flimsy lid that is stiff to open and falling apart after 6 months of desk use. The whole lid is coming unglued and pulling apart at the hinge. It would not be sturdy enough to use for travel or office work. The power port broke after 2 weeks and had to be replaced. The latest repair will take over a month because HP is waiting for parts and won't replace the laptop with something more durable. I bought this model because it had all the features that I was looking for - faster speed, more memory, more storage, Windows 11, good sound and graphics. The performance has been good except for the jumping curser - when I type, the curser jumps all over the place on its own or if I brush the touchpad. I have tried changing the touchpad sensitivity but it continues to interfere with typing because it is too big and sits under the heal of the hands when typing. The screen looks great with high def images but gives me headaches and nausea if I work on it for more than an hour, even with brightness and blue light settings turned down. I could work on my old laptop all day and never had this happen. The battery is terrible - it lasts for 3 hours on video playback with power saver settings turned on. The power button is in a strange place, 6 buttons in from the side - why not put it on the top corner? The return key is too small, not the usual larger L-shaped key. For $1000 this should be a better quality laptop with a reliable power plug, metal case and long lasting battery.
