Crappy product

Very difficult to setup. HP and Apple prefer you buy an App vs setting up WiFi connection. Very hard to network or even to put cartridge into.

Nice but never works

Never ready to print. Ink dries out or fails, or printer has issues. Why can't we make easy to use print on demand at home that works?

Worst printer ever

This is the worst printer I have had. I have issues all the time for one reason or another. It was offline many times for no reason. It could not scan many times. It is hard to print wireslessly and it gives weird errors.

Not worth it.

I've had this printer for around 3 years and every time I have gone to print anything it has taken me well over 30 minutes to diagnose and fix issues that came up. It's rarely the same issue twice and it automatically disconnects itself from HP Smart every time it turns off, so when I turn it back on I have to go through the process of deleting it, finding it in the list, and re-adding it. Today it took me an hour and a half to print a single piece of paper correctly.

The best printer there id

I have this printer forever. In the matter of fact I bought another similar model 6052 that I am trying to put in my network. I will never buy another printer that is not HP.

Died after 3 years; Support unhelpful

I purchased this printer in October of 2019 and at first it was amazing. I have apple products and have solely relied on AirPrint to print documents directly from my phone. Suddenly today the wireless connectivity for this printer is no longer working. I have tried my phone, my laptop, my iPad, nothing across the board. I also tried rebooting all my devices, rebooting my wifi, reconfiguring the EWS, changing the SSID, and restarting the printer. I even called customer service and was transferred 3 times and on hold for 1.5 hours and still couldn't get any help. Not to mention the online help tool was completely unhelpful because my decide is 3 years old. I spent over $200 on this printer this should not be happening only 3 years later.

Disappointing

I was excited for this printer and it seemed like it would be easy and convenient to use, however anytime i have to print or scan anything the printer says "Software required". So every time I have to re-download the HP smart app on my computer to find my printer and sometimes it will finally connect and I can print something, or it will say printer offline. The HP support app has said to turn the printer on to make sure it is connected or to "try again later", the printer is on, its connected to wifi, but they are not connecting. I usually have to restore wifi settings a few times, re-entering the wifi name and password to try to resent it. The wifi connection is strong, so I think it is a software issue between the HP app you have to download in order to use the printer or the printer itself, it is a pain to use both. I have to essentially re-set the printer up each time for use and it is the most frustrating thing especially when you need a document asap. I have just stopped using it and take my documents to the library or my school and pay to print and scan because that is easier than using it at home. The amount of time i have to spend to use the printer is ridiculous and not realistic for anyone. I would never recommend this and I wish i never got it. It is too bad because it seemed like it would be great and once its connected its simple to use, yet the process to reconnect it EVERY time i have to print anything, is just not worth my time.

Not great

This worked great for the first set of ink. Now I am lucky if I can get a line to show when I print a test page.

Don't Do It

If you are thinking about buying this model - don't do it. I have had to install and uninstall this all-in-one over and over again. When it works it works, but it usually doesn't. It constantly looses connection, I constantly have to reconnect it, it constantly has issues and now here I am trying to figure out what printer I am getting next. I give it two stars for the a couple of times it works and take of three for the majority of times it doesn't.

rarely connects to phone to print. ink cartridges

This is a very disappointing printer, mainly due to the lifespan of the ink cartridges. Our family prints on occasion during the school year. It is mainly a one or two page black and white assignment, or an occasional color option. The most recent ink cartridges do not work. They are not dried out, because when I removed them, ink was on the surface. I tried to correct them using internet tutorials, but nothing worked. I know there is ink in both of them, it just won't produce on the paper. Connectivity is sporadic as well.

Not working well after a few months.

The ink ran out fast and after I changed a couple of ones, it started to having trouble recognize the ink from HP that I brought and starting to have trouble copying blank paper and being unable to connect to my desktop.

Bad product for me, poor support

I bought this product and only used very few times, less than 200 sheets, now printer displays error with paper jam, the saddest thing is that I could never reach personal support, only chatbot which was useless. I had been a loyal customer of HP but now I am considering buying another brand

Software doesn't work

The software just doesn't work. It worked for a few months. Then I updated using HP's 123 website (I was prompted to do this by my printer's screen) and now the scanner won't connect to my laptop. The printer will work, however, you'll receive five (literally five) malware notices before you can print -- every time. I have a Mac.

This All In One Printer Is Garbage Threw It Away

After one year of purchasing the HP ENVY 5055 All In One Printer the scanning feature was disabled by HP because I wouldn't agree to allow them to track my usage and info. The scanner is still operational because the preview feature works perfectly but it won't let me scan/store a picture or document because HP disabled that function. Do not buy an HP wireless printer unless you want to allow them to track all of you activities(supposedly to make improvements). Now after only one year of owning this printer it is residing in the garbage where it belongs and I'm done purchasing anything from HP. Buy the looks of the reviews there are over 110 horrible reviews for this printer and now I know why.

HP Printer Ink - Online Purchase

Competitive pricing but the delivery was slow; 8 days from order placement to delivery. If I was up against a deadline I would have been in trouble. Printer ink should receive 2 day priority delivery. Time is money - will probably buy from a local retailer in the future.

Terrible!

This printer is terrible. I printed one page with the factory cartridges. Ink ran out. Bought new cartridges and it won't print black! Tried to access via the app on my phone and won't detect the printer even though it has internet access and shows it's connected. But a different brand!

Good Printer, Horrible Scanner

When my last HP printer of over 10 years was ready for retirement, I knew I would go straight back into HP products for my next one. I've had this printer for 6 months, and although it is a great copier and good printer, the scan to PC feature is very, very broken. Any time I try to scan from the printer to my pc, it will list the same PC anywhere between 0-4 times, so it is a crapshoot to select the correct one. It takes forever to try and access the device before saying its unavailable or to download the app on the pc (which I have). I can scan 5 papers in a row successfully before I suddenly get an error. The thing takes forever to power on/off again, so troubleshooting takes forever. (Yes, they're on the same connection. No, I dont have a cable to plug it directly into my PC, nor should I have to. Yes, I have tried using the troubleshooting software on the PC to fix my issues, no luck.) This thing is seriously more moody than a hormonal teenager, and I would love to trash it and not have an unnecessary app shoved at me to solve issues that it won't fix. The most effective way (which still doesn't work 100% of the time) is to trigger the scan feature through the app on my pc each time, which means every time I scan a paper I need to put the new paper in the scanner, run to my pc, hit scan, go back to the printer, put in a new sheet, walk to the pc, hit scan... It's a horrible device I wouldn't wish on anyone who needs to do a lot of scanning like I do. I would consider buying another printer, but if the software is the same, I don't see a point. I feel I'm destined to struggle with this non-functioning hunk of junk until it ultimately meets the same fate as the printer in Office Space.

Constant Troubleshooting

I bought this printer about 1 year ago and it has never worked correctly. At first it was minor printing issues, something I could overlook. The problem proceeded to get worse and eventually it stopped printing all together. I restored it to factory settings, bought all new cartridges (multiple times) and followed every troubleshooting tip I was given by both HP Support and via chatrooms. Still nothing. The scanner part works fine, nothing to report there, but if you want anything else out of this printer I would suggest choosing another option.

Horrible. My Living Nightmare.

I used to love HP products, they worked seamlessly with my Mac for years. I recently bought a new printer (6 months ago) and it has been nothing but torture ever since. HP had a malfunction where they wrote several of their printers incompatible with mac and still have not fixed it despite the articles discussing how they have fixed it and how you can fix it yourself. Half the time the "step by step" instructions lead you to places that don't exist. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times. Whenever I do this it only works for that day. Often, after that day I can get it to work by restarting the printer but have to do this every few hours for it to stay connected. If a few days go by I have to do the drivers again. I use this product for business purposes and this is completely inefficient. I have tried on numerous occasions to get ahold of someone at HP for help. I am pretty tech savvy but recognized I needed help. Getting ahold of customer service is nearly impossible. They tell you constantly to use their virtual assistant, which is a computer who is not at all helpful and just keeps redirecting you to their HP FAQ's or Self support pages. Again, not helpful as I have done everything imaginable to get this to work. Then I FINALLY got ahold of someone after months of trying and he said, "okay, I am going to route you to the department you need." This line sent me a text with the virtual assistant link again and then disconnected me. So after 6 months of fighting with my printer and wasting countless hours doing so and multiple times trying to resolve this, I am absolutely no where. This is quite frankly terrible a terrible product.

Terrible. Don't buy.

I bought the HP ENVY 5055 for graduate school. This was a terrible investment. I can only count on getting 30 pages for a $30 ink cartridge and that is printing on draft quality. That comes out to $1 a page just on ink. It would be cheaper to print my readings for school by order at Office Depot. Really disappointing.

Always runs out of ink incredibly quickly

My wife and I got this printer as a wedding gift. It has been absolutely worthless. We use it maybe twice a month but have had to replace the ink cartridges multiple times. We are going to buy a new printer because of how horrible this has been.

The WORST printer!

I've had nothing but issues since the beginning. 1. There's a glitch that makes you have to disconnect the power cord everytime you change ink cartridges. 2. Frequently paper jams 3. If ink is low in the middle of a printing job and you replace the cartridge, the job automatically starts over. Now I know how HP is making money on InstantInk. I pay for 100 pages per month. When 20 pages print twice because I had to change the ink cartridges, they're just wasted (not to mention my paper!) I have always owned HP printers. After this, I dont know that I'll ever buy another. I gave it 2 stars because the print quality is good.

Ink hog

Had this printer about a year- only need to occasionally print black/white documents but can get barely 15-20 pages per cartridge. Otherwise works fine but very expensive to use.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. First and foremost the product is super duper sleek! I`m pretty tech savvy but it looked a bit futuristic coming out of the box. My favorite thing about this printer is that it ha a quiet mode and truthfully, it doesn`t even need it!!!y last printer was so loud that it made my dog bark every time it started printing and it would wobble very hard when printing but this printer is quiet and didn`t move at all.
