Extremely fast core i7 processor except when trying top open up documents. I don't understand why but when I try and go into my documents it slows down. Love the computer, ease of use, looks and performance! Highly recommend.

The build quality of the HP TouchSmart 520-1070 is really good, and the perforrmance is top-notch. I delliberately ran a couple of very intensive tasks at the same time and found that this unit did not "skip a beat". The screen image quality is excellent. There is no way I could sit so close to a 23" screen and not experience eye strain otherwise. I like the way I can easily switch from a conventional Windows desktop to the touch screen mode and back. There are times I prefer to use the mouse and other times I like using the PC as a large tablet. It really gives you the best of both worlds. The Beats Audio sound is good, especially when hooked up to my subwoofer and satellite speakers. The only feature that has not worked as well for me, personally, is the HD TV antenna/ reception.. However, that is more likely due to where the unit is located in my house and not being south-facing. I write this review as a retired computer professional who is demanding of computer equipment. It has to work and perform well. I can definitely say this about this unit.

I received excellent service when I purchased this through HP phone. Shipped faster than expected. Took it out of the box and WOW! What a smart looking computer, clean lines and awesome functionality. I am very happy so far. The touch screen takes some getting used to but its really cool. I bought a four year protection plan with accidental damage and two years on the touch screen. The cost of protection was very competitive, hope I don't need to use it. Set up,was cinch, just wish they told me I needed a blue tooth toggle for a USB port to make the wireless keyboard and mouse work, it's not included so I bought a universal at staples for $20? Oh, it's a consumer Reports top tested in its class....bonus!

I have been using the HP Touchsmart 520-1070 for one month. The placing of order and the shipping were excellent. The follow up calls from the HP customer reps were breeze. HP has come a long way from when I hate to talk to the customer representatives on phone for two to three hours. Out of the box, the touchsmart sprang to life with first few steps of installation. Touch screen is pretty responsive. I love the magic canvas. Except for the weird mild noise it makes at the starting, possibily the blu-ray loader is the one making that noise, it performs mellifluously. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a system to perform all at home office functions.

Good desktop alternative. Touch works well. Only disappointment is the tv card was no FM tuner for use in Media Center.

I have jest recently received this computer, but it was very easy to set up and has functioned almost perfectly from the start. It has just started making a loud vibration noise when I insert a DVD. Sometimes does, sometimes, does not. Not predictable. waiting to see if it gets worse or goes away. Overall, very pleased.

Have not had any problems. Only wish there were more directions or guides about the computer, e.g. tv tuner, touchsmart screen, updates. Did find the Magic Canvas user guide on HP site. I like the touchsmart - phones have had it, businesses have it, tablets have it, and now I have the option of mouse or no mouse. Love it!

I love the all in one design. It's easy to set up, easy to use. It's my first touch screen, but it is really easy to get use to. I would highly recommend this computer to anyone looking for a new computer. It looks good and it sounds good. The performance is beyond my expectations. Thanks HP.

I'd recommend this computer, if you don't want the brightness available in other Touchsmarts. I had two 20" 300-1223 Touchsmarts one of which failed and after two months and three trips to repair HP replaced with this much upgraded model. Upon set up I found the brightness much duller than the remaining 20" model. The brightness adjustment on the keyboard using Fn and F10 or F11 worked but the brightness control that is supposed to be in the control panel under Power Options just isn't there. Won't do the long story but waited two months for updates after talking to support--which was incorrect. Spend 10 or 12 hours recently working with support including installing a new operating system from discs they provided. Finally got a support tech who knew what was going on and this was verified by a Case Manager. They was a factory error and this feature was never put in . I'm told I can't get a different version of the operating system that can be loaded in the computer to fix the issue---and am not technical enough to know if this is true.

Unit did not work -- would not boot up. Spent couple hours on-line to find out hard drive was defective. Our kids were really disappointed. Will try exchanging -- but had to re-pack --- never as easy as unpacking! So don't pitch those boxes! Hope this story has a happy ending.....

The HP computer was my first computer purchase in 10 years. I wanted to get all the latest gadgets. The included utilities (drive partition, image download) with the computer were easy to use and effective. I upgraded to windows 7 professional, because I wished to run some of my old Window XP programs on the computer through virtual XP mode. A problem I had in the beginning was a name change for logging on. The information from Microsoft and the forums were confusing and very self-assuming. I finally had to start from scratch. The internal HP-windows restart program worked great. I originally wanted an HP 520-1050, Based on a faster processor, bigger hard drive, and better graphics, I switched to HP 520-1070. I am pleased with my purchase and I would recommend it.

I bought this as a gift for my Mom. She loves it, especially the large screen and loud and accurate sound. She likes to make cards and her old computer was having to many issues. She mentioned that sometimes it gets horizontal lines either in start up or when she switches to another program. I finally noticed it myself yesterday and it's only a flash of about a second or so. I'm not sure why, but will be contacting HP soon on this issue (thus the 4 star). Otherwise we are both pleased.

My previous computer (HP Pavilion) was 7 years old running XP os and was in need of an upgrade. The HP 520-1070f touchsmart was more than I needed to do my home financial tracking, but I liked the all in one wireless feature. I have been thoroughly impressed with the machine from the first time I started it up. File transfer from my old machine to the new machine was simple. I enjoy the touch screen feature and use it more frequently than I thought I would. I got rid of the rat's nest of wires underneath my desk. The desk area is very clean now. The machine's performance is superb. The 23" screen has enough area to view multiple columns of data. I ordered the machine on Wednesday evening from work and it was delivered Friday morning. Overall, a great shopping experience.

This computer is everything that I could want. The speed, the picture, the multitude of features, and the ease of use is phenominal. I don't feel that I could have made a better purchase. I think I will be happy for years to come.

Mind you, I've upgraded after ten years of rebuilding my old pc, so the changes in technology alone blow me away, but I am really impressed with this HP model. I can do my banking online, have my money software open, keep an eye on facebook and watch tv all at once! I used to feel banished to the office to do our bills and miss out on anything on tv (didn't want to set up another tv in the room), so this is working out fantastic. I can get around like I always have on Windows or I have the option of switching to the HP Magic Canvas and have some fun. I am extremely happy with the ease of setup and most importantly the processing speed. It has reduced my computer task time down to a fraction of what it used to be, but now I want to be on the computer more to do things I want to do in addition to those things I have to do. I highly recommend it! The only issue I have in using the pc is with the printer communication when scanning. I'm sure there is a fix for it though--haven't read up on it yet. Also, the wire included in the box is your IR (infrared) equipment. If, like me, you didn't know what it was for, you would get an error message when trying to get the TV to work. One end gets plugged into the tuner card and the other sticks to the front of your topbox receiver (cable/satellite box) where it receives the signal from the remote. Hope that helps someone who is temporarily stuck during setup like I was. I am very happy with this purchase.

The 520-1070f has been a great addition to our home.. I love the large screen and the ability to adjust it for others to see. Wish it had a VGA port as I use multiple screens when I work.. This was all solved, however, with the addition of a $50 USB to VGA adapter. The 520-1070 took less than 15 minutes to set up and most of that time was due to my not having security codes at my fingertips. The product is fast and has been a pleasant experience so far... Can't run 'Magic Canvas' with a dual display but that's ok since I don't see any major value to it anyway other than the interesting displays it provides. After using Easy Transfer to move files, I've lost the 'HP Linkup' function.. Hope Hp can help me with this.. I don't use this computer for Gaming so I can't evaluate its performance from that perspective.. Highly recommend this computer... If I had it to do over again, I WOULD definitely pull the trigger.. Only change I might make would be to select the new 27" version, the OMNI QUAD Series... Good Computing !!!

From the box, fully operational and registered in about 1 hour. I purchased this computer and couple it with a doc-sis 3.0 modem and a N900 router for better WIFI. From a distance of about 25 Ft I am getting speeds of over 34MBPS wireless ( my service provider claims I am only getting 20 MBPS ? ). I am simply amazed as to how fast this system is. Set up is a breeze probably the easiest system I ever worked with ...... I am new to windows 7 and also touch smart screens although, I must say that the software is so intuitive I hardly have to consult the help manual to get proficiency. The screen resolution is phenomenal with an abundance of colors, good match with the radeom video card. This has got to be one of the best computers I have ever owned.

I purchased the high end touchscreen with i7processor and am very happy so far with the hardware but was surprised when I found out HP has no usermanual info available to identify the many performance features and how to use the features of a touchscreen system. Neither do many apple products but at least 3rd parties put out usefull documents on using the product. My wife now has a great new computer and can't make full use fo the features because of the poor documentation. HP-are you going to be a continuing player in pc's or not????

I hesitated to spend this kind of money on a PC when you can get them for a few hundred. However, have had the 520-1070 for a week now and think it is a GREAT buy. For anyone reading this review I will state I do not work for HP; I am just a typical PC buyer and have upgraded with HP for my last 3 computers. I wanted this particular model because I have a HD Sony camcorder and want to burn HD Blu ray dvds. So far the computer is performing well although I have yet to create blu ray - I have burned a regular dvd with awesome results.Downloaded a lot of HD video in a reasonably fast pace. So far, I highly recommend this PC !! I also have to say the order process was AWESOME - I phoned in the order on Tuesday at noon and Purolator delivered it the following morning at 8.45 a.m. and I live in a rural area! Well done HP

I purchased this product for myself and my husband about a week ago, and I definitely feel like I made the right purchase. It was easy to set up and appears to be a very sturdy product. I have an older HP printer, and I was very happy that HP still had drivers to load to make my printer compatible with Windows 7. I also purchased the Office 2010 Home and Student version, and since it's preloaded, activation was instantaneous with the product code. No complaints so far.
