Battery should last longer

I just wish the battery would last a bit longer other than that it's a really great laptop.

Runs with lid closed

I like the computer and pen that came with it. Im giving it 4 stars because it keeps running when the lid is closed and gets very hot

No wake up in tablet mode

I took off a star because of the inability to wake up the computer in tablet mode and the lack of a holder for the pen which greatly increases to chance it will fall and be damaged. Otherwise, great product.

Worst laptop ever!!

I bought this quite a while ago. I got it from Best Buy for like $800 It was literally the worst laptop I ever got. I don't usually write reviews, let alone bad ones. but I felt this needed to be said. for anyone thinking about buying this laptop, do it at your own risk. the volume is TERRIBLE. I have turn it up all the way just to hear it normally, and even then its still pretty quiet. The fan is another problem, it is INSANLY loud, my family can hear it from downstairs with my door closed. It overheats a whole lot to the point it completely shuts off. i had problems with this laptop from the very first day I got it. I was hoping they would go away but they only got worse. so if you want a crappy laptop for a lot of money, then be my guest. But for those of you smart enough, read this and don't make the same mistake i did.

Four Stars and Counting

I gave it only four stars because i am still learning all it can do. Probably the "LabTab" will earn its fifth star in the next few months. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get the tech support I thought I needed for free when I first started, being referred to "Smart Friends Support", a pay as you go third party group. Eventually I am learning how to do what I want by trial and error- probably the best way anyway.

Works beautifully! I love the graphic and the intel core i5 makes the computer work smoothly! The fans are just a bit too loud sometimes. I would definitely recommend this to my friends!

Terrible Battery Life

Love everything about this laptop except the battery. I barely get 2 hours out of it before I have to plug it in. I'm only using the internet and Google docs. No gaming, no videos, I'm not even streaming. Unacceptable.

LOVE the design, HATEEEEE the display (warning)

I just bought this laptop and regret it. I am absolutely in love with the design of the laptop and the keyboard is the best. The silver keypad looks great and is very comfortable to type on, I think it feels better than the Envy keyboard. I also love the smooth trackpad. I love the minimalist, clean design where the speakers are at the bottom instead of the top. This design looks premium compared to the previous versions of this model. However, I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the god awful display which has an awful yellowish tint to the screen. It is SO bad, it hurts my eyes and gave me a headache. I have no idea why HP would produce such terrible display - they say it was designed to be this way. This is a major flaw in an otherwise amazing laptop. Such a shame - cos it would have been the perfect laptop for me. I hope HP makes this same exact laptop design but with a wider colour gamut, and proper white balance without this god awful yellowish torture.

Makes a good laptop for mid-users

A good laptop for an author who also runs a few intensive apps simultaneously. The Warm Gold version comes with a fingerprint reader, although the website says otherwise. My only gripe isn't so much with the computer as it is with the pen - I wish there was a way to turn it off, rather than have it constantly drain battery.

Not recommended

I bought this from Costco several years ago. I do not recommend this laptop. The fan is always on at full blast, when you shut down/hibernate/sleep, it only actually goes off 2% of the time. Nearly all other times the screen goes dark but the computer just remains on with no way to get it back without doing a hard shutdown by holding down the power button (I've had to do this well over 100 times since I've had it). Sometimes the laptop just restarts out of nowhere. This is not a common occurrence but it happened recently and was extremely frustrating, as I typed a whole note to myself out and hadn't saved it yet. The laptop itself when it works is great, though. Touchscreen works great, speed is great too. I should note that I had a newer HP printer as well. All the bells and whistles, great interface, mobile, everything was easy EXCEPT it would lose connection if idle for a while, so I had to constantly restart the printer. I no longer recommend HP products at all, it is just not worth the hassle later. My mom needed a new laptop, had her eye on an HP, and I just couldn't recommend it. I ended up recommending a Dell and honestly she loves it and hasn't had a problem yet (and she always has problems with her PC... even though she's usually the problem :)).

PRETTY GOOD

Bought my laptop for school and I love it. Pretty fast and easy to use, love the convertible option. The only thing I was disappointed about was that it didn't have the backlit keyboard like stated in my options. That was one of the options I really loved about the laptop, and one of the things I really needed in a laptop. Since I needed my laptop immediately I didn't have time to return it since school had already started.

Battery Life Needs Major Improvement

In my opinion, the only downside of this laptop is its battery life.

Wish there was a case made for it

The computer is nice. When the computer goes to sleep and you have the computer with the keypad tucked under. You have to take it back to laptop form to wake it up. My big compliant and huge disappointment is that there aren't any cases for the computer.

Ran Hot; Speakers unacceptable

This Computer was very hot off the box - uncomfortable to use at times - but the inexplicable was the poor use of the B&O speakers. The Pavillion line USED to offer the speakers in the middle of the unit, like a soundbar, between the screen and the keyboard. This one weirdly put the speaker in a little box on the bottom and side. It sounded barely better than a cell phone! Horrible setback for the used-to-be-better Pavillion line. I returned it right away.

So far so good

I've only had this laptop for a month so only time will tell if it's durable or not. I bought it to have an alternative to using my iPad and honestly it was just time to replace my old slow Toshiba (yes, they use to make laptops for personal use back in the day). This laptop is the perfect size and weight for me. I'm still setting things up, getting use to Windows 11 and removing a bunch of preloaded apps I don't need or want. Would have been nice if the keys were backlit but being that it's convertible, I can just use it like a tablet with the digital keyboard in low light. The touch screen is responsive (I didn't adjust the default setting). It doesn't have a number pad (which I didn't need or want) and I'm fine with the location of the power button. The trackpad is nice and large (I don't use a mouse). Beware, it can get hot and the fan can get loud at times but it's no worse than my Dell work laptop. I was able to easily hook up a second monitor using an HDMI to VGA Adapter. I bought and installed MS Office Home and Student 2021 separately (I didn't see a need to wait a month for it to arrive configured with software that can be downloaded in less than 30 minutes after purchase). Now for the issues. I had to go online to figure out how to get my Cannon printer to be recognized. That was very frustrating but I finally found a thread where others had the same problem and offered a solution which actually worked. I still have not been able to setup hello sign-in using the fingerprint sensor. I've performed all the Windows software updates and followed most of the online recommendations for checking the biometric sensor driver (too afraid to uninstall and try to reinstall LOL) and I don't feel like fooling with an HP digital assistant. So for that, I'm taking off 1 star.
