So far I would say performance for the money has been great!

If you have owned a laptop in the past you really liked for the way it displayed photos and video of all kinds, I think you would be disappointed with the HP dv6 series of laptops. They will do everything but, in my opoinion, they won't do anything at the quality level you may be used to. Their customer support is of doubtful value, partly technically and partly because of a language barrier.

The hidden feature on this laptop is QuickWeb, which boots up and gets you on the web in a matter of seconds. Apart from being a fantastic performer in all categories, this is one of the best features of this laptop. This is in many ways as convenient as using the iPad or I guess a chrome book, but coupled with fantastic hardware, so web pages load quickly. Overall, the AMD A8 Vision CPU/GPU works well. The size is comfortable, keyboard is a pleasure to type on. Touchpad is great - especially the multi-touch gestures. Nothing to complain about. I'd love to also be able to put QuickWeb on my HP desktop and it would be interesting to see an app store for QuickWeb. This review is being written on the laptop in the QuickWeb browser.

I purchased this PC 3 times now.....1st purchase....the screen would not come on. Returned. 2nd purchase.....2nd day the screen turned white and no data could be seen. Returned.....3rd purchase....( I may be an idiot) has not come in yet....will have to wait and see. I would like to give a review of the product but have not recieved a PC that works.

This laptop boots up quickly and is great for surfing the internet. I like the fingerprint sensor which does away with the need to remember a password. So far have only installed one program which I felt took too long to install. The screen is bright and easy to read. The keyboard is full size and designed nicely so that crumbs and dust are easy to remove and clean.

Nice sleek appearance, runs great. Fast loading. Love the fingerprint scanner. Only complaint is the Norton incessantly wanting you to purchase, so I had to uninstall it. Other than that, I highly recommend computer. Awesome performance at a great price......also, it arrived in record time. I was very impressed.

I was looking for a computer that was fast, efficient, and could play Steam games since I'm a gamer. Needless to say, this laptop has far exceeded my expectations! The AMD A8 3520 processor is very fast and can handle multiple tasks at once. It can render a video in a video editing program, then upload it to youtube in about an hour to two hours (depending on video size). I will soon use this laptop for school so the Microsoft Office Starter is decent, but once I get to college it will be useless. I will definitely soon be getting Home and Student, but for now Starter gets the job done. Now the most important thing I was looking for in this laptop was the graphics and how fast it can play games. Without a doubt, this was the right purchase. This laptop can play TF2, Left 4 Dead, APB:Reloaded, and more on high graphical settings without a hiccup. I haven't tried any maxed out settings yet, but it seems to run games pretty quick on higher settings. Also, I haven't tried any of the graphically demanding games such as Skyrim or Battlefield 3 but I've heard this laptop can run them on max or ultra settings. Overall this was a great purchase and definitely a steal when it was on sale for $549. Highly Recommend

I really like the performance to dollar ratio, light and more ridged then my last hp, sound is great, and love the fingerprint reader. I do have doubts about the overall build quality, aluminium parts are nice but have some rough edges. I would suggest going for the nicer screen, keyboard feels cheap but not chincy the touch pad buttons however... Guess I can't complain to much at this price range:-)

This replaced a HP which has lasted for years without a problem. We have continually had HP as we never have the problems that everyone else we know has with other brands. Our only problem was setting up our printer which is also HP as the computer did not come set up for this model as the last one did. It took a few minutes and a download but everything works great. We use it for everything from play to work without it ever missing a beat. Family continues to get rid of other brands when they replace theirs and buy HP after using and seeing how well HP is built and holds up. All I can say is we will buy HP as long as there is HP. Was about to buy the new tablet when HP dropped it and sure was disappointed, so never did buy one since HP does not have one. Heres hoping they do put one out again for their loyal customers.

I chose this pc because the graphics card has twice as much memory as the Intel HD Graphics 3000 which ships on most models. I only really play one game on my pc but I wanted to be sure that my one game wouldn't end up sluggish and unplayable. I'm very happy with the performance of this pc and the graphics in particular. I don't experience any lag in my game and haven't had to adjust any settings to improve performance. I'm also very happy with the processing speed and size of the hard drive. I love that this pc starts up so quickly. It seemed like I had to wait forever for my last computer to start up. It should be noted that the first pc I received did have a problem with the display. I contacted customer service and they immediately processed a return and sent out a new pc the same day with expedited shipping. They were very eager to please and didn't give me any trouble at all with getting a replacement.

I have been pleasantly surprised with the performance of this laptop. I bought it with the intention of playing PC games while on the treadmill and it runs both Skyrim and Alan Wake without any issues. I wouldn't necessarily say that it's the perfect machine for PC gaming, but I didn't intend on using it heavily enough to merit spending more money. I will say that the glossy display has a somewhat limited viewing angle and can be difficult to see in a room with several sources of light.

I wasn't really too confident about buying a laptop that was already put together. I'm more of the customizable type. However, finding out that the already built system would ship sooner than one that I would have to wait to be built to my liking, the system is awesome! High performance 5 stars, delivery time 4 stars (only because I had to wait for Sunday to pass), games added 3 stars (you pretty much have to buy the games), battery life 4 stars (no battery is perfect, but this one lasts a while). Overall, I highly recommend this product!

Good graphics, easy to use, pretty fast (processor-wise) and the finger print scanner is pretty good, love that feature.

I must have looked at 100 laptops online however I wasn’t excited about any of them. Then I found this pc. I wanted Quad Core, 6 GB, 750 hard drive and the price couldn’t be beat. I was so excited. But the best part was when I got it home. First, what an elegant laptop. The brushed aluminum exterior coupled with the Quad Core processor is like owning a luxury car with a powerful engine. No cheap plastic exterior like other laptops in this price range. As for fast…how about two seconds? Yes, that’s all it takes to power up. Add three more seconds and you are online. With my former desktop, I use to get up and turn on the power, then get ready in the morning and hopefully by that time, it would be powered up and ready to get on the internet. The finger print sign in is amazing. I was surprised at how much I loved that. It was so simple to set up. A few questions and you are done! One of the nicest parts of the purchase was the HP experience. I purchased it on a Saturday and.it arrived on Wednesday. It was boxed nicely. By far, the best pc you can get for the money and the best price was right on the HP website. I’ll definitely purchase from HP again. I absolutely LOVE this laptop. I think you will too.

Received my dv6-6c40us last week. Runs nicely. One catch, there is not a mechanical button that turns the touchpad off, so it is all under SW control. I have big thumb pads, so I run the pointer everywhere whilst typing. The build quality is excellent, and the unit is robust and easy to read with my 53 year old eyes. In all, a great PC. It works well with Windows. I installed Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 after two days. It runs linux without a hitch. I am thrilled. This is the 6th hp laptop that I have had in service for my family. HP laptop and desktop computers are serving 3 generations of my family and after 10 years 100% of them are still in production. Thank you HP for well over a generation of support and service to my family, my personal business, and to my corporate employer.

The first one they sent me arrived defective. Mistakes happen, and their wonderful customer support got it sorted quick! I am posting this review from the replacement a few days later. It runs very well. Excellent, in fact. The cam is nice (1280x800), and the audio is supreme. Honestly, laptop audio is typically trash. This is the first laptop where I haven't felt like it required me to plug in headphones to play games or listen to music. I can even watch a movie without having to plug in headphones. Dr. Dre seems to know a thing or two about audio. Games run smoothly, and the overall response navigating through the OS is pleasant. In addition, it's the perfect size. Any smaller and it would feel like a netbook, any larger and I may as well port around my desktop. This is an excellent laptop. I recommend it to anyone that wants to be able to game on the go, and enjoy media as well.
