Nice compact form and quiet. Plenty of USB ports.

Nice compact form. Would like to have an option of ordering without all the HP branded software.

Love this PC

Solid mini computer perfect for most office tasks and light video editing/graphics work. Performance is good and I love the form factor, I install it under my desk for more desktop space. No fans so I have installed a $12 fan under my desk to cool it. This is my second Mini and I'm not sure I'll ever buy another desktop form factor again.

Slow out of box, but fine aft RAM upgrade from 8B

It was slow out of the box, even after uninstalling unnecessary apps and updating BIOS, drivers, and all software. I bought an 8GB DIMM off Amazon for $20 and upgraded RAM from 8GB to 16GB. Now it works well. HP should not sell it with 8GB as it is almost nonfunctional. We almost returned it.

HP Prodesk Mini 400 G9 Wolf Pro

The Mini is compact and sleek and well designed. However, performance so far is horrendous. Many times the system will take 45-60 minutes to shut down because of system work. What the work is is never clear, but I'm beginning to thing that HP Wolf and other bloatware is part of the problem. Hopefully performance will improve as initial system set up completes, but so far that hasn't happened.

Pleased so far.

At the moment I'm rather unsure about the HP Mini. Right now it seems to be running although it took the usual couple of days to get Windows to the point where it was even sort of running usefully. Microsoft seems to be getting slower and more laden with silliness lately. But then some of your software also seemed to be part of the problem. Example: When I opened a Word document nothing happened for a long time until. eventually it opened up in an odd window that was an HP box of some sort. I went looking to see what was going on and found an enormous list of HP software items. I have no idea yet what any of your stuff does and I may get back to try to figure that out. For now I'm still trying to get the software I use downloaded and functioning. Once that's done, I will see if I can see what it is you folks are so proud of. I like the machine so far, but I go a long way back with computers. Back to the days of Radio Shack's Trash 80 and a clone of an apple 2 which I built from scratch under the leadership of a collection of guys at McMaster University who ran a course for a couple of dozen of us. Bare board, solder the chip sockets into place, load up the chips, and then send the thing off to be tested and the BIOS installed. Great fun. It lasted a couple of years before something fried it. I suspected lightning. I built another desktop many years later. A standard desktop with most of the bits in place but needing to be plugged in and the ribbon cables run. Things are not so simple now. I have this new toy running and will, I think, find it a decent computer. Fingers crossed for now and if you want to repeat this request in another couple of weeks I will see if I can report more sensibly of it for you.

Not my typical HP

This is the 13th and latest computer I purchased from HP since 2017. The CPU rips as online benchmarks indicate it should. However upon removing the unit's lid one can see the assembly is sloppy, and the fit and finish of the chassis is amateur. This is NOT what I've come to expect from HP where but only 1 of the previous 12 units revealed any obvious defect upon inspection. Furthermore a sticker on the bottom of the chassis indicates the unit has a 3y/3y/3y warranty in contradiction with the 1y/1y/1y indicated by my online account. For future acquisitions these 2 issues will cause me to consider competitor products.

A lot of computing in a little package

Don't let it's size fool you. This is the most powerful computer I've had to date, and it keeps my small office very neat. It's about the size of a DVD case and, with Bluetooth, I don't have to be overwhelmed by unsightly cables everywhere.
