I bought this printer primarily to help me with a project I was doing at church. I needed a bunch of photos printed out and this A646 really did a beautiful job with no problems at all. Each photo came out with beautiful color and clarity. I did transfer the photos from my computer where I did any cropping or adjustment that was needed. However, I am looking forward to using some of the fun features included in the printer such as the frames, etc. This is perfect for small photos to share with others.

I saw this printer on tv and fell in love with it immediately! Shipping was fast and so was the initial setup. I was printing pictures liteally in 15 minutes!! It is a great product and I would highly recommend it. The picture quality is great and adding borders and print is a bonus!

I bought one of these printers for my daughter and it worked very well. I had older model for several years and had no problems with it. I bought myself this newer A646 model and worked great as stand alone but could not get to work with my computer. Called HP agent and he worked on the problem-which was wrong software put into the printer so could not be recognized by the computer-they emailed gift card for cost of the printer to use at the HP online store to be able to replace. So those of you who just 'have' to have the small printer-take the time to call the 800#. Worth it!!

The HP 110 ink cartridge (used in the A646) has enough ink to print approx. 55 4x6 pictures. The HP 95 ink cartridge (used in the Photosmart 370) would print at least 150 4x6 pictures. There is only about a $ 2.00 difference in the cost of these two cartridges.

Just received our A646 and absolutely love it! My husband was doubtful, but we plugged it in and started to print photos. The results wowed him and we're having fun printing out our favorites. So easy to use.

I purchased the A640 based on the excelent performance of my previous HP Photosmart printer. The A640 produces underexposed prints that are unacceptable and therefore cannot use this printer, I have no choice but to return this product and buy another brand. I am disappointed but also surprised because this is the fourth HP printer I have owned, the other three produced impressive results.

I took this printer to a family reunion and everyone loved the fact that I could print out copies of our group pictures for sharing. We added captions and had so much fun with this little printer. Picture quality was beautiful.

received it unpacked it -plugged it in put in my photo card followed the on screen instructions and started printing 4x6 prints. the quality was excellent much better than I expected from such a small and inexpensive printer. The on screen instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The printer is very quiet while printing, I love all the different things that can be done with this printer, I have only had the chance to use some of the features but they all worked perfectly. Thanks HP for providing another great product and thanks for pricing it so every one can afford it. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great but simple to operate printer.

I like this printer, in spite of the fact that I can't make it work with my iPhone, OR with a USB cable. I haven't tried calling tech support, since it sounds like it could be hours to get a fix. It does make nice prints and is more easy to use for photos than my big Photosmart.

I purchased this printer a few months ago. When it came I was not sure..... but after I open it and set it up I was pleased. I have a small personalized business and we use photos and this works out perfect it small and lite and easy to carry from place to place its great!!!! I love it I was think abut buying another one for my home office!!! the price was great also

I bought this printer for my husband and he absolutely loves it - he is printing 4X6 and 5X8 pictures like crazy. The color is fabulous and the convenience of making your own pictures at home is worth the money for sure. He calls it his "video toaster" because it looks like one. It is compact and we take it on all our trips with the convenient carrying pouch that comes with it. If we had one complaint it would be that it does not print from compact flash memory cards. He uses it as a stand alone printer. It is a great printer for someone who doesn't want to fuss with a computer to print pictures and/or doesn't want to wait in line at the local CVS.

This is an absolutely great little photo printer, and cute too! I bought it for my mom as a replacement for her old printer. She absolutely LOVES it! We were both amazed at the picture quality and all of the features that it has to offer. She just loves creating boarders and being able to add captions, clipart, etc. She's impressed because the color fills up the entire page and she doesn't have to cut off any edges :-). Very easy to use right out of the box. My 11 year old son was so excited about this printer, so I bought him one too!! Did I mention how rich and vibrant the colors are? You will not be disappointed!

When I bought a new computer I bought an all-in-one printer to go along with it (not HP-sob). I have hundreds of pictures that I couldn't print, so I decided to treat myself to the A646 and I absolutely love it. I came home and used it immediately as a stand-alone, and I've come to the conclusion it is idiot-proof! Best bang for the buck!

I got this printer in December 09 as a Christmas gift and I absolutely love it! Having the accessibility to print right from my SD card helps me stay afloat with my scrapbooks. I have the printer sitting right on my work desk and I print high quality photos as I scrapbook. It has a lot of neat features to create quick greeting cards and frames around your photos. The quality of the photos is amazing! The portability is great too, not too bulky and the carrying case even has a little slot for all the SD cards.

I bought the A646 because of the glowing reviews on this website, the convenience, and the price. I must have received a lemon, because I have had nothing but trouble with this printer. It is my 10th HP printer, and I have never had the problems that I have with this printer. I installed/uninstalled the software 4 times and tried everything suggested in Troubleshooting. When I print a picture, then go to the printer under Printers and Devices, it shows that the document is printing, but the printer won't print it. I have to cancel the print job, disconnect the power and USB cables, and reconnect the cables. Then I'm prompted to run the setup.exe file after which I'm told the software is already installed correctly. Then I can print 1, and only 1, picture. For the next picture, I have to go through this process again. What a pain!

I love this printer. It prints great photos. I had alot of pics on my cell phone that I printed through the bluetooth and they turned out GREAT. Could not be happier. Very fast shipping also. AWSOME PRINTER.Thank you HP!

I bought this printer because my HP385 went belly up. Liked most of the features on the 646 but wish it had a feature to print a range of pictures from a card. Most cards now can hold over a thousand photos and having to select them one by one is very time consuming. Most likely will not use the computer connection for printing out pictures. Great pictures though as a stand alone printer and like the portability as we travel a lot and can take it with us in the trailer.

The photos are great. The reason I gave it only a 4 star rating is because I use a compact flash with my digital SLR and there is not a slot for the compact flash. The 510 does have a slot for it, so I use it for those pictures, however, I must download to a computer to print 5x7s.. Have enjoyed printing the 4x6s and sharing them with family.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my technically-challenged mother whose film camera finally failed. The simplicity and touch-screen seemed easy enough for her and does not require a computer. Unfortunately, when she unwrapped it Christmas and I tried to demonstrate some 'near-instant' Christmas prints. The printer made one beautiful 5x7 and never produce a decent print after that. She thought I should just return it but since I bought it direct from HP.com it is not as simple as exchanging it at a retailer. After cleaning and fussing with diagnostics, I bought a replacement cartridge for $24. So far, that seems to have fixed the problem. HP will replace my defective cartridge because it is still under warranty. Sadly, I had to type in the same personal & printer information multiple times during my dialog with HP Support to fulfill their requirements. So beware when buying direct, if you get a bad one, it may be months before you will get a replacement and see a print. Buy from a retailer or order extra cartridges so you won't be disappointed.

I have had my printer for near 6 months and I love it. Digital pics are great, but being able to print them right at home rather than go to a store is really awesome. I don't know what I did without this. The colors are great and if you use the HP photo paper it is better than what you get when you order prints from anywhere. Uses a little more ink than I like, but if you want great color, that is a small price to pay.

this printer prints out crystal clear photos, and the print takes up the whole sheet of paper, so its not like a small picture where you have to cut the excess paper off. its compact, light and portable. everyone says that the bluetooth function doesnt work, but if you follow the details on the setup poster step by step it works fine and is so cool printing from your cell phone. a must buy.

I give it one star only because I have to. It should be a negative ten stars. If you have Windows 7, don't bother, it won't work. After over an hour with HP tech support, which is a nightmare in itself, the tech gave up and said "send it back."
