Gloria G : Hi. Do you know where in the computer I can find the model #?. Also the battery is giving me only 3.5 hours of operation. It is supposed to be 9.5 h. Do you why this could be?Gloria G : Thanks JamesGloria G : Thanks Edison.EDISON G : If you remove the bottom cover you will see the model number and a bunch of other information written on a flap that tapes over the battery (which by the way, can be easily replaced). 3.5 hrs is more typical than what they advertise. To make it last longer do the following: go to control panel, power options and choose power saver. You can also tweak on advanced settings. Go to processor power management and reduce the maximum power state to something like 30% (essentially that underclocks the cpu). I have reduced at times to 10% and it's ok for most things that don't require too much processing power. Take a look at this article that explains other things that you can do to prolong battery life: pcworld/article/252373/improve_your_laptops_battery_life I hope this helps.JAMES M : On the underside of the laptop you will see two sliding locks. Slide them both towards the center of the laptop. The bottom half of the cover will open. Remove the cover and you will see the tags you are looking for. As for the battery, my guess you have a bad one. Get it checked/replaced while its warranted. A new battery costs around $200.00. Hope this has helped you.
Shopper : Matt Z. - Is this unit brand new or is it refurbished?NAUMAN K : Hp has some QA issues. I bought this model from Best Buy twice and both times it was defective. Screen issues or even starting up issues. After returning them, I ordered with Adorama and third time was the charm. Price and shipment as described. It is a brand new not refurbished unit.MICHAEL L : Brand new
Shopper : Can I upgrade the RAM to 8 GB and the SSD hard drive?EDISON G : Yes, you can increase the memory to 8GB but you'll essentially have to dismantle the laptop, including removal of the motherboard. The memory location is in a very poorly accessible location. However, it can be done (it takes about an hour or so). I have upgraded mine. However, I didn't notice much of a difference in speed. It can't accept a 2.5" SSD, but you can add another 1.8" minisata SSD in the pci-e slot (next to where the one that comes with the computer). Those minisata pci-e SSD's are hard to find and I am actually looking for one right now. Make sure you get one that is Samsung, with the same specifications as the one that came with the laptop, so you don't end up with problems.Daniel R : I just received mine and there were display issues, but per Adorama's return policy the buyer must resolve the issue with HP's warranty department. Adorama' will not accept open box returns on laptops/notebooks. Very unpleased with this.

Fast, sleek, light.

Boots in 10 seconds. Battery charges very quickly. Have had no experience with sluggish mouse movements or problems opening the case as others have reported. Yes, fingerprints are an issue but I use the same cloth to clean the case as I do my eyeglasses and cell phone, plus it comes with a nice sleeve to protect it. This is a machine for school, my desktop is the workhorse. The Spectre is my little sports car machine for a fast boot at the start of class. Love it!

I love my HP ENVY 14-3010nr SPECTRE Notebook PC !

While this is my first laptop ever, I am amazed by it. I love the the design and styling of the envy. I am so cautious with the shiny glass as it is one of the features that made me want it. The keyboard is perfect all around and the mouse touch pad couldn't be better. The graphics are wonderful as well. Anyone looking for one of these ultra-books should consider this baby! :)

I'll be buying more...

This is one of the better laptops I've purchased recently. Pros: - Very light weight and portable, easy to carry around for a 14"+ laptop. - Nice design, feels solid and not as flimsy as other ultrabooks (in particular the screen which doesn't flex as much as others I've handled). - Nice keyboard layout and response. - Performance has been pretty good so far (mostly running business and CAD programs). - Windows 7 professional was not an option but was easy to upgrade once I got the laptop connected to the internet. - Good size screen for the size of the chasis. - Battery life has been excellent so far. Cons: - Some touchpad gestures are slower to respond than I'd like, but ok. - Wish it came with a bluray built in, or at least I wish there was an external accessory Bluray drive that was equally small, light weight, and well designed as the laptop. - Would be nice to have a bit better screen resolution as an option. - Can't upgrade RAM above 4GB. - Would like one more USB port.

Spectre Ultrabook

The new Spectre ultrabook is the best; after looking at the "other-guys" Air, I chose to stay with HP. Had all the options I was looking for in a quick order PC, and was several $$$ less.

The HP ENVY 14-3010NR Spectre 14" Ultrabook Computer features three surfaces of beautiful, scratch-resistant glass. Defying conventional design with an unparalleled use of glass inside and out, this HP Ultrabook fuses the thin-sheet glass over the all aluminum body in nero black and natural silver.

The 14" Radiance HD+ Infinity widescreen display provides exceptional brightness and color gamut for optimal image quality. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio and is backlit with LED lamps, which are more energy efficient than their CCFL counterparts. The 1600 x 900 native resolution is powered by integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000.

With a mini-DisplayPort and a HDMI port, you'll be able to output video signals to a larger external display, such as a monitor or an HDTV. If you would rather go wirelessly, built-in Intel WiDi technology enables you to wirelessly stream your music, photos and videos and other PC content to an HDTV. A compatible TV adapter (sold separately) will be required to make use of this feature.

The system is powered by a dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5-2467M processor. It also has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128 GB solid state drive, a 2-in-1 media card reader, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with WiDi, an integrated webcam and microphone. There are also built-in stereo speakers with Beats Audio. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.
