Easy Install, high performance, big disk

BLAT (Bottom Line At Top): This is a fast, quiet, and capable Quick-Ship box. Found it at the online HP Outlet Center. Now for the rest of the story: We bought this box to help us transition from XP to Windows 7. It's an "older" Quick-ship model that has MS Works 9 pre-installed on it, which we liked because we currently use Works on our XP boxes. So we'll use MS Works at first on this new PC, and then we can migrate to Office 2010 (bought separately) at our own pace. Long-term we plan to use this box and its 1T hard drive as a storehouse and streamer for all our media files (music, photos, video). The installation of this new computer and the 2210m monitor we bought with it was amazingly smooth. We were shocked when we pulled out the setup poster and basically it just said "Hook all the pieces together, connect it to the router, plug it in and turn on the power." Silly us, we didn't think it could be that easy, but we followed the diagrams and we had no installation problems at all. The PC automatically connected to our router and the internet and started searching for Windows 7 updates. Norton NIS 2010 was pre-installed but the virus definitions were pretty old. However, we zipped through 4 sets of LARGE NIS updates and restarts in less than 20 minutes!! More Windows updates were identified over the next 24 hours, and we applied all the critical ones, also very quickly. We are still on our Window 7 learning curve, but we like EVERYTHING we've seen so far about our new HPE-270f PC. Goodbye Windows XP !!

HPE-270f Best HP Computer I bought!

The HPE-270f is a wonderful machine, and given it's high performance and "bang for the buck" ratio, it's perfect for multimedia enthusiasts and even mid to high level gamers. This computer makes it all worth it with it's Bluray Reader / DVD Burner drive built-in, and Windows 7 makes everything much more awesome! The built-in Wireless support is great, and I am using an HP Infrared receiver (separate from the computer) that lets me use an HP remote with Media Center. Also, this computer has the capability to add another video card of the same kind to it (2 PCIE), which would enhance my games with CrossFire X from AMD/ATI. I love this system because it lets me run all my favorite 3D and even some really nice 2D games at high speed, despite the fact that AA/AF effects still bog it down quite a bit, I keep them disabled at all times with my games on this HP Desktop. All in all, and overall, it's the best and only HP Computer I've ever owned. I feel it is truly a keeper. With this computer, HP really outdid themselves.

HPE-270f

This is hands down the most powerful system I have owned. Terrific speed, makes multitasking so simply it's hard to keep track of all the open applications. One issue with it is it comes with quite a lot of unnecessarily preloaded software. But it's relatively straightforward to remove.

Easy gaming machine.

I needed a new gaming PC but didn't want to deal with the hassle of building one from parts again. I bought this computer along with the 27" flat panel (HP 2710m) and the combo is quite nice. I know it won't be easy to upgrade without a bigger power supply but for now it plays all the games I have* on highest quality (other than 16x AA, but who uses that anyway?) at good frame rates. *The most recent games I have are Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Star Craft 2. Older games like TF2 look awesome as would be expected. I even got killed a few times from not paying attention to the game and just looking at the scenery.

A Great Buy

This is the best mid-range computer I've ever owned! It's fast and the memory expands to 24GB! I never thought I'd find such a mega-computer at a mini-price!

Just what I needed

When my old Gateway PC died on me, I needed a new PC right away, or I was going to fall seriously behind in my school work. I usually like to customize my PC's, but I didn't have the time to do it this time. So I got this quick-ship model. It was just what I needed! It got here fast, and setup was the fastest I've ever seen. I was able to get all my work set up on it and running almost immediately. This PC has a nice processor, room for much more RAM, and a decent graphics card (probably the best in its price range) that the occasional gamer or video editor can enjoy. I can play all my games in much better detail than I ever have before. This is a great deal! It will last me several years.

Smooth Running Machine

I bought this machine for my wife to use. I wanted somthing with the most up to date hardware I could find at a decent price and this machine fits the bill without having to build my own. When I set it up my wife thought it was the smoothest machine she has worked on in a long time. It is quick, fast and runs without any problems. We love the TB storage since we can now load our CD collection. Next we will work on our DVD collection. We really enjoy this computer.
