The HP7130 displayed the correct message for what the problem was. Ordering the HP14 black printhead (after trying the "repair" procedure) and installing such fully resolved the problem. Thanks.

It's a necessary evil of our times, but there really isn't a better way to deal with ink cartridges and print heads. They wear out, they need to be replaced with HP products (don't waste your time with refurbs & refills). Just spend the money, and be thankful you don't need to buy another printer!!! Printers need to be used often. Otherwise, they get dried out, and cause BIG problems. HP seems to know which parts to replace. Okay, a bit pricey, but there's no substitutes, really. The good part is that everything is in stock, and they can be shipped right away.....service is great in that respect.

We have an older officejet hp d145 and continues to work great except our black printer head keeps failing every year. But once I replace it (which is easy to do), it's like new. My husband will never get any other printer other than a HP. We are going to give this printer to our daughter since we just purchased a Wireless HP Officejet Pro 8600, which works good so far.

We've had our d145 for about 10 years now. And after ten years without a single problem, our black printhead went bad. I tried the hot water procedure several times, but it did not help. So we just ordered another black printhead, it came on time, we installed it, and we're back to business. Works great!

I have used the printer, an HP D135, for about 2 years now. I got it used, well used, with dead printheads. I have tried using "remanufactured printheads", but with little joy, New printheads have lasted me over a year now and I shall soon have all the old or remanufactured heads swapped out for true HP new printheads. For me - this is the way to go, new HP printheads, all of which have a 1 year warranty. New printheads give me good quality printing, work with the printers print head and ink cartridge "smart chips" that track expiration, etc. I think the price is too high, but for such an older printer, I'll pay t to get the quality parts and supplies.

I bought a new black print head after the original one broke this Feb. Now the new one is broken again. I do not print too much, mostly is for my child's school homework. The quality is terrible ! could not find any warranty information about it.

We have had to replace the HP #14 black Printhead 3 times in the past 13 months. We like the machine, officejet D135. The color printheads in this machine are about 5 years old. HP # C4920A It's impossible to find any warranty information, if any, about this on the internet.
