This printer has never worked properly since the day it was purchased. The Black ink levels depleted without ever being used. Changed the black ink cartridges and worked fine for 1 week before black just would not print. All other aspect worked great, scanner fine, fax no issue. Printer just refused to print black ink and advised was running out despite never having printed more than 3 pages.

I started having problems with this printer about 1 month after purchase and after 6 months I am still having the same issues.

I bought this printer assuming that HP products would connect. It was ridiculously difficult to instal, but I got there. Color printing good for the price. But every time I use it, it later shows "offline". I try uninstal and reinstal and somehow it connects. Then I come back the next day and it is "offline". I intend to send it where it should be, but am still looking for a window high enough that will not risk injurting someone.

Bought a new HP desk top and wireless printer and have had nothing but problems. Does not read the computer correctly, cartridge problems, scan and copy is questionable, install difficult. This should be an easy, seamless function. Angry.

The product gave different error massages,Like the ink cartridge is installed incorrectly,or I was not useing the correct ink cartridges, and others.I was actually using the cartridges that came with the printer and that was recomended by HP for this printer.

I love this printer - it did especially well in printing pictures. The color is fantastic. It's easy to scan, print, and make copies. I have not used the fax yet, but am sure it will meet all expectations.

This was easy to set up, and I like the compact feature. It doesn't take a lot of room on my table.

Can't seem to receive faxes. I have not given up! Calling tech support requires at least an hour... sometimes 2 hours.... time that I just do not have.

I bought this printer 6 months ago for myself and my sister liked the wireless feature, so I purchased one for her. She absolutely loves it!! It was so easy to install and the fact you can be in another room to print a page is excellent. As usual, I can always count on HP to provide me with great equipment.

HP 4500 has small footprint considering all the uses it has. No problems with any function. Easy to setup and use. I miss my HP 2610 Photosmart(retired after 9 yrs.); but the 4500 is quite an excellent replacement. Have always used HP products and find them to be very dependable and user friendly. Great machine !

For the price this printer is amazing! It does everything I could have hoped for and more. I love that it is all-in-one, it also has many other print quality options and it so easy to use.

The installation procedures don't work at all as described in the documentation. I have had to google other people's suggestions on how to get this to work and I still haven't succeeded. I'm going to try again this weekend and if I fail I'm going to throw this piece of junk to the curb. The HP utility communicates fine via WiFi from my Mac to the printer. But the drivers still can't print from an application (Word, Safari, anything else). I read complaints from many other people with the same problem. My wife bought this without doing any research. Big mistake.

This printer has been a godsend! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a low cost printer with great features. I replaced the hard wired HP printer with this wireless only because I purchased a wireless laptop. Great value for the money.

Had a 7410 All-In-One for 8 years before it gave up the ghost ... not bad by any standard ... Called HP on Memorial Day Weekend when my tired old printer died. An Ace phone rep talked me through the 4500 features and levels of use compatability ... it was an economical (super low priced) replacement that got me back into generating ink. HP gave me a discount not only on the printer but the ink too. I checked with H_ _ _ _ D_ _ _ _ _ and the Web and even e _ _ _ ... HP was the lowest price in town (even with out the discount) and it was delivered in just a few days to my front door ... free delivery too; can't get better than that. Printer set up was a breeze ... it works like a champ ...copies, prints, faxes and scans tirelessly. Print quality and speed are outstanding ... it is an econimically sized, well designed full featured wireless printer that is perfect for a home office like mine and packs a punch like printers much larger in size and price ... I mean ... what's not to like? If I get 8 years ot of the 4500 like i got from the 7410 ...I'll be back for another HP printer, you betcha!

I have YET to get my HP printer/computer operable! I cannot print despite 7 hours on line with your technicians. The problem is that we are struggling with my Panda Security software and the fire wall. Can you fix this problem for me?

I've had my printer for about two weeks now. It was easy to set up, and does an excellent job printing. I love the display which tells you what you need to do. I read the different reviews prior to buying this printer, but I had trouble at all. If you've set up any printer before, this was easier. Just let the CD do the job.

This printer is an upgrade from two other HP all-in-ones that I still use (1210 and 1410). I really appreciate the 'feed' feature on this printer and so far, I haven't had any problems. The printer was super easy to set up; and as expected from prior experience with HP printers, the print copy colors are awesome!

Even though, this product has many features, getting those features to work all the time and when I need them to is a completely different story.

I was looking for ink for my printer when I saw the terriffic prices on a new wireless printer. I have been think of getting a wireless since I got a lap top. Now I can print from any room in the house. The printer and wireless feature was easy to set up and works great. I has all the features I need for my home office.

This machine does it quickly and easily.. A cinch to hook up the wireless and just about everything. Came with everything including the USB cord. This machine is fast and quiet. I highly recommend this machine to anybody considering it. I was just dissappointed by a Canon for the 2nd time. The only reason I bought the canon was due to when I needed a 4 in 1 they were the only one offering it. The canon blew it's ink cartridges and trashed the printer. When I talked to canon they stated they do not repair that model anymore. They didn't offer a discount on a new one either. I contacted HP to see if they had the 4 in 1 at a reasonable price and WOW....I'm not only impressed with how well it works but also how user friendly it is. I would have to sit in front of the canon with the manual for hours and it still didn't give me the results I was looking for. Thank you HP... Once again you have impressed me.

I know I've seen some derogatory comments on this printer, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why. To me, I think it's mostly because people refuse to read the directions when setting this printer up. I had NO problems whatsoever. Both print and pictures, while this isn't necessarily a photo printer like my old 8450, come out sharp and clear. The 8450 has the edge on photos, I think, but not by much. This new 4500 outruns my old HP 8450, and that dinosaur's one very fast printer. It was a snap to set up, it works perfectly whenever I call on it, and the ink, by standards, isn't too awfully expensive. I think I'll get years of good service from it, and I'd recommend the J4500 to anyone wanting a dependable HP printer. Just READ THE DIRECTIONS that come with it and do what they say in the ORDER they're written. You should have no problems!

This is the worst (I mean it) product installation experience that I ever had. It took me for some reason twice (half a day) to install everything and make it work. The printer that is send to me (4500) was suppose to replace the printer that I had (6500) and after installation I find that it does not do double sided printing (I am very disappointed).

I'll admit first off that I'm a slow learner when it comes to "technology". I just about love the 4500 with the exception that on the 2nd use, the print cartridges jammed inside the unit. It took a while to discover an interior clip and some wires were in the way. Pushed them back "in", and all is well (though I'm half-expecting them to come loose again). After 2 weeks, I still get an occasional error message regarding something to do with the cartridges. Opening and closing the cartridge cover seems to clear the problem, but it is annoying. Great print/copy/scan quality. Prints quickly, scans rather slowly. Unit is much noisier than my (very) old HP4100 all-in-one, but I desperately needed the upgrade.

HP 4500 review
By ALECMD
I purchased this printer on April 12, 2010 after several weeks of research for a device that would allow me to share my esisting, older model HP printer with other computers on my home network. The latest addition was a new laptop with Windows 7. After discovering that the cost of the device to do what I needed was about the same cost as a new printer, I started looking around. The HP 4500 was one that was recommended and the price was close to what I would have spent for the other printer to...

Great buy wireless 4500 all in one
By jimbo9745
I recieved my HP 4500 all in one wireless this morning. After reading some of the other reviews I was a little worried if I had made the right choice. Let me tell you this was the eaiest set up I have ever done especially on three different computers running different Windows software. I have a Hp tower running windows Vista. An Hp laptop running Windows 7. An Dell laptop running Windows XP. I had all three computers up and running in about an hour and 15 minutes. I than set up my fax with no...
